For the price it’s a good scanner. Obviously it’d be better if it had a larger screen ( It’s scanning screen is barely larger than the size of a standard sheet of paper.) . But for what it is, it’s pretty good.

This scanner can produce some beautiful, high-quality scans, however the included software and drivers aren't the most straight forward for beginning users. A little time reading and experimenting will leave most users in a good place and happy with its abilities.

Purchases for my daughter to scan in her art work to upload online. She used to have a small colour portable wand type scanner but she absolutely loves this and has uploaded a great deal of art already. The quality is great and price is affordable. She researched many of these types of scanners and found this to be the best deal all around.

I think this scanner is great! I've used it a dozen times so far and the picture quality is great and the software that comes with it for scanning and stitching larger images has done a fantastic job so far.

    Functional scanner, bad app

I purchased this scanner to archive my old college notebooks in digital form. The image quality from this scanner is good. I am happy with the picture results. The app, however, exits after each page is scanned and must be re-opened to scan again. Having to reopen an app each time is irritating when you are scanning hundreds of pages. I realize that this is not a sheet feed scanner, but the process of scanning a document should not require as many steps given that there is a button on the front panel designed to trigger a scan.

Scans well and fairly quickly. Some of the included software (aside from the actual driver) is junk and lots of it "phones home" and runs in background. However, you can always uninstall it.

We were really impressed with this picture scanner. It did a great job until it stopped working after under two months. To be fair, we did scan a ton of photos. We took it to an Epson repair shop. Hopefully, we will get it back soon. We have another Epson scanner which had an issue and Epson was very good about replacing it with a new one.

The scanner does exactly what it says it will. It scans photos fairly quickly. Faster than a scanner on a printer. The photos appear to be a good quality too.

The quality of even the most “budget” flatbed scanner is amazing these days, and the Epson V39 is no exception. I purchased it primarily for scanning old photos and it handles them quite well. From the faded or mis-colored prints of the 1970s and 1980s up to film from 10 years ago, the V39 captures perfectly a variety of image types, sizes, and qualities. The Epson software does leave a lot to be desired, but it’s a small price to pay for such an effective budget scanner. The kickstand - which allows the scanner to be angled towards the user - is an incredibly useful feature that I didn’t anticipate liking. I would recommend this scanner to anyone not looking to spend a ton of money, but who will appreciate the high-quality image capture that the Epson V39 delivers.

This scanner is a great value (cost vs. quality) and is very easy to use. The scan quality is fantastic! You do have to download the drivers, per the instruction, prior to even connecting the scanner to your computer as the scanner will not acknowledge the computer as its power source until you have the drivers installed. Once the download is complete; however, it is a simple as a one touch button plug & play.

I use my Epson scanner for photos and text. I did not give 5 stars because I don't how long it will last. This scanner replaced an Epson scanner, which lasted ten years. hoppy

First off showed up in 2 days and perfectly packed. Also the price was dropped and they refunded my money. The scanner does what I need to do. It is slightly noisier and slower than I would prefer but it does a top notch job of scanning for my needs.
