I bought this to scan photos with auto-crop. It does the job but has to pass over the photos for each scan, i.e. 3 passes for 3 photos on the bed. My old Canon could do it with one pass.

Bought this to replace my old (and now defunct) HP G4050. This is much more compact and has done all that I required of it so far. Not sure if the smaller scanning surface will eventually be an issue for me, but expect that won't be the case.

Scanner came with big chunk of dust under glass that could not be cleaned off. Had a hard time connecting to the PC for power. Tried three different USB ports and finally one worked. When connected, had to restart software periodically after it stopped working and had to reboot PC a few times when power stopped via the micro USB cable. Could not select highest 4800 dpi setting due to errors. Highest setting that would work was 1200 dpi, which was good enough for small photos but not for larger ones. Especially with the dust showing up on every picture. Was able to scan more than one picture at a time, but no more than 3 due to having to space them apart enough for software to recognize individual ones. Auto rotate did not work well and had to rotate most by hand. Some software GUIs were unreadable since it did not scroll or allow for resizing of box to perform selections. Returning to store.

This product was purchased for my son who is working from home like everyone else. He is very satisfied with the performance of this scanner. He works for a company located in Freehold, NJ which pretty much makes this product essential. Very easy ordering and pick up! Thanks again, Best Buy.

I gave the Epson Perfection v39 four stars because it feels flimsy. Other than that, the software for the scanner is great and the scanner works great so far.

I am in the process of scanning all my photos (about 2000). The best part about this scanner is that I can scan 4 pictures at a time (as long as they fit on the scanner bed with at least 1/4" between each) and the scanner recognizes 4 pictures and scans them as separate pictures.

I have scanned about 500 pictures so far. Unfortunately, the scanner often stops unexpectedly. I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Not sure what causes that. I'm still learning.
