Customers are saying

Customers regard the Perfection V600 Photo Scanner as user-friendly and easy to set up, even for those who are not tech-savvy. They appreciate the high-quality scans and the scanner's ability to handle various media, including negatives, film slides, and old photos. However, some customers have concerns about the outdated software, compatibility issues, the scanner's large size, occasional defects, and the time-consuming scanning process.

I've had an Epson Perfection photo scanner for 20 years, starting with the 1650 model. I just bought this new V600 to replace that original 20 year old model, which still works, but I noticed the color maybe starting to change on it. The V600 continues the very solid photo scanning that Epson has provided in this series for decades. And my initial scans with it show good quality at high resolutions. It's much quieter than my older scanner, which is really nice. Definitely worth the $200-250 price tag.

I have several sheet fed scanners, a portable Canon and a NeatReceipts scanner. I bought this Epson V600 to replace a 10 year old Epson V600 for scanning things that can't go through a sheet fed scanner like a page in a book, pictures from a calendar and such. I'm not a heavy user, but I've always had an Espson to work with. They have never given me a minutes worth of problems, the software is useable. Just a good basic scanner that will last a decade I hope. I typically scan directly into Photoshop for pictures and photos and into Acrobat for text. This scanner does either very well. I've never used the quick touch buttons on the front so I can't comment on their usefulness.

Scanner does exactly what its supposed to. The software is a little dated but no problems. Sometimes the software takes a while to open and recognize the scanner is ready but no other issues

This Epson V600 scanner has worked great. We've scanned some documents but mostly photos and it's done everything we've needed. Great scanner for the average user who wants to put old photos on the computer!

Used for scanning slides, prints and negatives for video, it's fantastic. Using the provided holders, the software automatically sorts a strip of negatives or slides into individual images, and let's you rotate them individually before final scan! High resolution DPI available too. I did not try color corrections or dirt/spec removal in Epson software, used Photoshop instead, but nice that it's included as an option. Lid hinge can be raised for scanning books. Great for archiving!

Good scan quality. Easy to use For 35mm negatives. Would be better if it was set up to scan 110 and 126 film. Sometimes it detects negatives as positives in automatic mode.

Works well for slides, although pretty slow.

I purchased this to scan some old slides. It does a very good job, but is pretty slow. It only scans 4 at a time, so be prepared to spend quite a while at the process. Also, the slides had some dust and debris on them; in retrospect I should have taken the time to clean them before I scanned them. I didn’t try scanning negatives, although there is an attachment for that. For prints, the Epson FastFoto FF-680W (which I also own) is a much faster and better way to go, although quite a bit pricier. However, the 680 won’t do slides or negatives.

Easy setup. Flexible options for installation - CD or link to download. Basic scanning functions are fairly intuitive. I was able to get pretty good quality scans of photos. Quite satisfactory for family photos. Scanning process varies a bit strangely in how long it takes, but not a serious problem. The USB cord to the computer provided has a loose and easily interrupted connection. This is a problem unless you are careful. But overall, I am very pleased with quality of the scans. There are lots of options and capabilities and I have only begun to explore them. A good buy for the price.

It scans great I purchased it to scan 35 millimeter slides and 2.25x2.25 medium format slides because that's what it says on the information about the unit but it did not come with any trays that hold 2.25 by 2.25 large medium format slides so I'm very disappointed about that fact there's still those kind of slides out there and someone the manufacturer whoever needs to make at least an accessory tray holder that would accommodate this for scanning

It's a quirky operation, but the scan quality is great. My husband's mother passed away and we have been scanning old family photos, slides and negatives and the quality comes out great. The software function is kind of funny, we are using a macbookpro, and the scanner will not scan unless the mouse is placed within the software window. It is time consuming to scan in all photos, if you are looking for a quick scanning process, this product isn't for you. If you are looking for great quality and versatile scanner that scans many different formats, then this is for you.

This is a great scanner for the price. The only problem with it is the software. Two of the add ons made my Windows 10 word program crash. But the scans themselves have been fine. once this problem was fixed

I bought this scanner to scan thousands of old photos. I have scanned around 3000 photos so far. The process is pretty smooth. The quality of the scans is good. For some of the older photos I have been about to adjust the scanner settings and bring out some details in the photos that have probably never been seen before.

This flat scanner is amazing! I got it mainly for self developing purposes , I got into film photography and I am someone who like doing the whole process. not only did this work for developing/scanning my negatives but this works flawlessly for scanning old photos (not the fastest way if you have stacks) and for scanning important/old documents you don't want fed through a feed scanner.

For the price you pay, you get a really high quality scanner. I am using it to scan my negatives, and boy does it ever get sharp detail. Great photo scanner, only down side is the scanning speed, which is SLOW. Especially at higher DPI. Be careful cleaning the bottom because it is very sensitive and picks up dust and scratches easily. It is also very easy at picking up static electricity.

This is a great machine! I read all the reviews and chose it carefully. I made the right choice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars is the software that drives it---hasn't been updated since my last scanner which was old---there's a learning curve. My other issue is the learning curve for copying negatives. Had an alignment issue. The machine is great.....but why does it have to be so hard with different sleeves, optional sleeves and poor documentation? Would buy it again but haven't had the time to watch the youtubes to figure out how to maximize its potential.

This scanner is doing an awesome job with our scanning. We have over 10,000 photographs from old albums and the scans are great. With a small space between photos, you can get several small pictures at a time or even 2 - 5x7 pics. The image quality is very good even with the small, postage sized black and white photos.
