For the price this is a great scanner. I takes a little time to get used to and figure out all the functions. I have a Canon scanner and after using the Epson for some time now think it's the best. My old Canon scanner would not work with Windows 10. The Epson has no problem connecting. After scanning about 600 slides, negatives and photographs, I believe the Epson does best with the photos. You can set out several photos and in some modes the Epson will scan each picture separately. It does a great job with small photos.

Both speed and quality are much better than Epson WF-3640's. If you want to do scanning photos, this is the scanner to use.

The scanner works great. The scans are pretty close to the actual printed photo's. I ended up settling with 2MB files. I attempted 5MB files but it was saying it would take 30 minutes. A little slower than I expected on picture scanning if you want a 2 mb file. However, a 1 MB file or less scans pretty quick. The software didn't really work well for me to clean up the picture, so I started over and make the adjustments in Photoshop Elements. I am glad that I bought it.

This scanner is fantastic. I use it for scanning and restoring old photos. It‘s important to note that this scanner is quite bulky compared to most flatbed scanners. That’s due to it being able to scan film as well, which I haven‘t tested. The Epson software is pretty good, but note that there are other good options out there such as Silverfast that will make for excellent results. If you have a huge amount of film to scan, it will likely take a very long time to scan everything with this type of scanner.

I purchased this scanner for a digitizing photos and slides for family members, after months of research I decided on this one and have been very pleased. I have scanned hundreds of photos and slides so far and have been very impressed with the clarity and restoration I've been able to achieve. There is a slight learning curve to enhancing old slides, they turn out the best when scanning them in professional mode. At first I had issues with the Epson application closing out when I would use other programs while scanning, but I now run the program as an administrator and I can continue scanning while using other programs without the threat of having it close out in the middle of a scan. If you have a lot of photos, slides, negatives etc. I highly recommend this scanner.

I bought this scanner for the versatility. Will be using it to scan several thousand slides and hundreds of negatives and pictures. The scan quality is very impressive, and it is quite a bit faster than my older scanner, but still takes a couple of minutes to complete a scan.

I don't have any experience with other photo scanners but this one did a great job and setup was minimal. I was able to scan old family photos and negatives at throw in them in to photoshop with ease. The DPI was a bit confusing at first because the software lets you select negative scan DPIs in the dropdown even if you have it set to flatbed scans and it'll give you an error without telling you that's what you're doing wrong.

I bought this to replace my old Canon 8500. The quality of the scanned photos is much better than the old scanner. The process is relatively slow I think. It makes one pass to determine what it is scanning, then a pause, then another pass to actually scan. Sometimes I forget and replace the photo after the first pass. Maybe I have just used the wrong setting and could merely set it to color photo to scan quicker.

The Epson V600 software is easy to use. You can scan documents to PDF, photos, slides, and negatives in varying pixel sizes. The Dust Removal and color correction selections do improve most old photos. There are also options to improve the lighting and coloring of photos. The scan time increases when many options are chosen. I normally use the Professional Level for scanning which provides the most options. I am pleased that it works with Windows 10 and Mac Version 10.15.6 (Catalina).

I needed to scan slides, photos, and negatives of multiple sizes. So far, this is doing the job well - not fast, but well. The most frustrating part is getting it to work properly with a Mac since it’s really designed for a PC. Fortunately, some information is available online that helps. If you have time and a large number of variously-sized item, I recommend this for digitalizing photos and slides. Good deal for the price.
