Meets my need
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The V600 is the perfect scanner for my purpose of digitizing captioned family photos in chronological order for producing digital albums. The previous, more expensive, Epson scanner that I'd used for over 10 years had more features; some of which I never used. This replacement is actually easier to navigate and the picture quality is great! The one feature that I do miss is the ability to save the scanned pictures directly to my external hard drive. The V600 only allows saving to the computers picture or document folders. Therefore, I save to the picture folder and then move pictures digitally to my attached hard drive.

Quality picture scans
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The software is confusing, particularly for mac OS. But the hardware works great. Working with negatives can be a bit tricky if the negatives have curled. Consider using other off the shelf image scanning software.

Good scans, terrible design
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Scanning old photos to archive. The quality of the scan is good. The software is clunky and the top of the scanner is a bit difficult to open and close

Great Photo Scanner - High Quality - Easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Professional quality hardware and software. I have scanned well over 400 slides, 50 strips of color negative (35 mm) and even old pictures - you can scan anything that is flat. The software is great in "full auto mode". You don't have to do any settings - the scanner figures out what you are scanning, and does the job. My main experience is with slides. It scans at 6400 dpi, and renders jpg files (remember a standard copier runs at 800 dpi max). It is kind of slow, 4 slides in about 3 minutes. But you end up with the same quality of jpg you would expect from a digital camera or smart phone. I could keep on with its many capabilities, but will close with this thought -There is no other scanner on the market that can do the job at this price point.

Quality scanner

It did the job. Scanner software was not compatible with my iMac so they offered another software. This was an inconvenience

Great scanner M1 compatible a little different
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great scanner for negatives and photos . I did have a minor issue with software since I am using a M1 Mac,but that is no fault of Epson's. The scanner is also a little smaller than I thought. Overall I like it.

Scans docs, photos and negatives - very pleased
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great scanner - upgrade to SilverFast Scanner Software to get the most out of it. About the scanner- good construction. The lid stays up on its own at 60 degrees. This frees both hands to adjust whatever you are scanning. The plastic inserts support different sizes of negatives and slides. Very accurate tracking. I can repeatedly scan at different exposures to get the most information from my negatives and the scans overlay each other perfectly. Recommend

A great scanner
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been scanning photos and text pages for over a year now and it's worked great. The software it comes with is simple, and pretty easy to learn. The underside of the lid is white. The only thing I wish it did have would be for that white underside to be reversible to black. That would make scanning 2 sides b&w pages much nicer since it would reduce the bleed through. Placing a black piece of paper on top of the paper to be scanned does help, though.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner Review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Epson Scanner quit working and so since the new Epson V600 scanner was rated so high, and since I knew how to use the software, I decided to get it. It works much better than my old scanner and I am very happy with it.

Wouldn't scan negatives
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed the software off of the Epson web site because the CD says it's for up to Win 8. This gets you no photo software or user guide. On the other hand, the user guide is completely worthless, and the machine didn't want to scan. The software is not intuitive at all. So, I stuck the CD in and installed everything. After a reboot or two, it started scanning well. In full auto mode, it would scan a photo by touching the Scan button on the front of the scanner. All these buttons do is start the software in the right mode (PDF, email, print, photo). So, it was looking okay. Then I tried scanning photo negatives with the film carrier. I tried Full auto, and got a picture of the film carrier. When I tried Professional and Home modes, I always got a message of something like "no response from scanner. Try blah, blah, blah". Tried this a couple of times, no change. Switched back to scanning a regular photo and it was fine. Called Epson support. While it was cute to have Saquiille O'Neal keep encouraging me to chill and someone would help me right away, I quit after 15 minutes. I boxed up everything like I got it and took it back to the store. So, Epson tech support did not support me.

Great Photo/Negative Scanner! Worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent scanner for what I needed. I have over 30 years of negatives and photo's that I'm turning to digital. The quality and speed are great. Much better than a basic scanner. Well worth the price!
