This is the best for media conversion scanning
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best flatbed scanner for the money for photo scanning and has many extras to boot. I like it because it is not a combo device. It also allows negatives, slides and film scanning, an excellent extra for really old media conversions. Just what I needed to get my job done. Also got it for someone else that had the same needs in a scanner.

Great hardware. Weak software.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd V600 scanner I have purchased. The software that came with the new scanner is much less capable than the old software. A link to a free software package from another vender is also supplied, but will not scan color 35mm slides without the purchase of an upgrade. Since I bought the scanner specifically to capture my slide library, I am stuck using an older computer with the older software (I scratched the glass on the older scanner capturing some time old flat art).

Good scanner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a good machine. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes on some items if you have been using it for awhile. It sometimes cuts off the negatives and have to try other ways of aligning just right.

Great scanner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this because my previous Epson Perfection Scanner wouldn't work with my newer computer. This new one worked very well. As with anything there is a learning curve, but was able to scan historical documents for our family and organize them easily.

Connection issues or defective scanner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed in this scanner because it didn't work for me at all. And so I returned it after I spent an afternoon trying to get it to work. I was suggested this model by experts at B&H and Bestbuy. I followed the setup instructions exactly how they are written but was unable to get it to work and scan anything. I attempted to use it with three different computers with the same results. Two of the computers use windows 10 and the third uses windows 7. After looking at the rest of the paperwork that came with the scanner I believe this model was made when XP was the newest operating system. And so that may be the problem since it could be incompatible with the newer operating systems or it may have just been defective in some way. All three computers would recognize the USB connection when it was plugged into the computer but the scanning app could not see the scanner making it worthless. I hope this helps with your decision in purchasing this scanner.

Warrentee
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased an Epson V600 photo scanner. Within 3 weeks of purchase I successfully loaded the software and hooked everything up okay. Tried to scan a my first photo but found the lid difficult to raise. Called Epson tech support for help as I was fearful of breaking the lid. After providing them with s/n and model number I was advised that the 1 year warranty had already expired - three weeks after an on-line purchase from Best Buy. I had filled out the on-line registration but apparently it didn’t matter. Now I have to find an online proof of purchase. Not good

Well done scanner!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does negatives. The software it comes with is like the one I had since 2005 that will adjust the scanned photo. Does the job as expected. It has more functions than I use (not a criticism).

Very Versitile Scanner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Scanner makes excellent prints from 35 mm negatives. Haven't used it yet on slides, but it comes with a holder to simplify the process. The software that comes with the unit is great, but I reccomend reading it off of an optical disk. Epson offers the scanner software on line, but doesn't offer the photo editing software.
