    I bought this Epson scanner hoping to replace my 12+ year old HP photo printer / scanner with something more updated. To my surprise (and shock), the software that came with this Epson scanner appeared to be MORE dated than the software that came with my HP. In addition, the scanning time was much longer with the similar quality settings selected. Overall the appearance of the same photo scanned with the Epson vs. my 12+yr old HP was nearly identical, and the HP software was much better at improving the discolored and aged photos. I would have considered keeping the Epson scanner for the purpose of scanning film, since my HP scanner is not capable of doing this, but the Epson software kept freezing up and crashing during the short time I used it. In the end I returned the Epson scanner and decided that my old HP photo printer / scanner isn't ready for retirement.

    I have a Epson Stylus Photo RX600 but can no longer get ink. Printing 35mm slides. I need high resolution. In the future I will not home trial a product unless I can preview it in the store. I am still looking for a replacement for my RX600. High resolution. Thank you for the opportunity to trial the V600.
