Great Quality, Poor Setup

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.To scan an item, you have to manually place it 6mm away from the edge of the walls in the scanner's bed. You then have to trust software to automatically crop and rotate your image to make it straight (which fails more often than not), or manually crop and rotate each image, adding a lot of extra steps and time that shouldn't be needed. If you're planning on bulk scanning and capturing the whole image is important to you, look to another scanner.

Do Not Buy

I tried troubleshooting by updating my Mac, installing and reinstalling software, and buying a new USB port. I called Epson for help, and they are sending me a refurbished replacement. I owned it for less than 2 months. This is the second product I purchased from Best Buy that has not worked.

Unable to connect to computer

I contacted Epson Customer Care Center many times but the problem was not resolved even after they sent me a replacement when the conclusion was that the scanner was malfunctioning. When the new one arrived, I was also unable to connect it to my computer. It was the same problem of the red blinking error light. I then brought it to the Geek Squad but they were also unable to solve the problem. I then decided to get another IT expert to help solve the problem but he was also unsuccessful. I had specially bought the Best Buy membership so that I can use the Geek Squad service but it did not help.

Useless scanner

I tried to install drivers from Epson site and it never could connect. I reached out to Epson support and they determined it was a faulty scanner. I returned it to Epson and they sent me a used scanner to replace it. It too never could connect and I was allowed to return it to Best Buy, unfortunately Best Buy would only give me store credit only, because I have a warranty subscription with them.

dont waste your money!!!!

Frustrating set-up and poor scans

I ended up being on a 30-minute call with Epson's support team as we downloaded six different files from their web site. Finally got it running and my scans look dusty. I cleaned the glass with a microfiber cloth. That helped, but there appears to be dust INSIDE the scanner. I don't have the patience today to call Epson again, so I'll call tomorrow. So far, I'm not impressed. Might return it.
