The Epson V600 should have been cleaned better internally. Some of the slides I scanned in had repetitive specs on 25% of them.

The computer is ok, but it doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. I don't care for Windows 11, either. It is too complicated for us. I wish I had shopped this a bit more before purchasing.

The price was good for the features of this scanner. It was easy to set up and I had no problems using it to scan documents or photos. I have not used it to scan slides as yet, but do not anticipate any more issues than with the other formats. I am using it in professional mode, which allows for much more nuancing than the automatic settings. FYI, I am a 70+ person with no speciality technological training. I would recommend this product

Excellent scanner and easy to use.

My main purpose for this scanner was to archive family photos that have been stored in various boxes since the 30's. It's a wonder that they have survived this long and need to be digitally archived before they are gone forever. What's great about this scanner is that I can load up as many photos as I can fit on the scanner glass and it automatically differentiates between each one, numbers them, allows you to auto rotate before scanning and auto-numbers the filename outputs. Then it systematically scans through each photo as if they were put on the glass at different times. This is a HUGE time saver. The speed of the scanner is faster than other/older scanners I have owned - but as with all scanners - the speed of the scan is proportional to the resolution of the scan. The higher the resolution - the slower the scan. The scanner has several extra scan modes other than just automatic and numerous settings in each mode which I am still experimenting with. It also has four customizable buttons on the front to instantly scan, copy, scan-to-email and create PDFs. And, with the included Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software, I have been able to easily convert scanned documents into editable text. I have not used the negative and slide holders yet - but have read from other reviews at other web sites that these are easy to use as well.

Excellent Scanner - Easy to Use

This scanner has excellent speed and flexibility and the quality of scans so far is very impressive. It is easy to load the negative and slide frames and the capacity is very high; the system flawlessly detects film type and then scans each item perfectly. The dust removal and color enhancement software is very good. There is an auto-scan mode for simplicity. I have also been experimenting with the professional scan mode which is fairly straightforward and provides enhanced options. Overall, I'm very happy with this scanner.

I wanted to love it, but...

I was really excited for this scanner, but in the end there were too many things I didn’t like about it: 1. Outdated software: PhotoStudio 6 does not work with Windows 10. And for those of us (me) who only have Windows 10 computers, that is a problem. I could not find any drivers online or any information to help fix this issue. Epson Scan also comes on the CD, but it was buggy and froze a lot. I couldn’t find any information online about anyone being able to sort this PhotoStudio 6 issue out with Windows 10, so I assume it is a known problem and Epson has decided to not fix it. Or this software hasn’t been tested on Windows 10 yet. The CD containing the software was from 2014. 2. The glass flatbed part fits 8.5 x 11 documents well, but crops all of the edges. And for someone (me) who wants to capture the entire document and then some (i.e. a tiny bit of extra space around the document), that is a deal breaker. There were some things I liked about the scanner: 1. Portable. It was small enough and light enough that you could carry it around your house easily, as well as to a different location if needed. That was nice. 2. Easy instructions to follow in setting up. 3. The scanned images looked great. Will be a great scanner for people, just not for me and what I was looking for. Returned after a few days.

A great scanner for the non-professional

Device operates as advertised. Scan quality is really good and easy to Achebe for a non-professional. Ability to identify and scan multiple pictures and slides a real plus. I’m able to save family photos from the 1930’s for future generations economically and easily. Worthwhile investment if you have lots of images and documents to save. A little tricky connecting to a laptop though overcame the headwinds with a little research.

Bought this to replace an All-in-one printer/scanner that I had. Best selling points are the ability to scan slides and negatives, and the ICE technology. Bought this because I want to scan all my family's pictures in the best resolution and quality possible, and to fix any old ones that are damaged.

    Good for old 35mm negatives

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought it in order to scan 20-30 years old color 35mm negatives made with Minolta 7000i. I am using the Vuescan software. So far I have scanned about 300 frames (strips by 4 frames). I compared the results with the results from a more professional scanner Minolta-5400 and found no observable difference for the given quality of the film. V600 uses the ICE technology (infrared scanning for the digital dust cleaning) - essential for the film scanning. It seems that this scanner was a perfect deal for my needs. The only small complaint is about the 35mm film holder - it is a bit flimsy.
