Scanner is very good for both photos and negatives
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Scanner is very good for both photos and 35MM negatives. I use the available free download SilverFast 9 SE. Cleans up older photo and negatives quite nicely, also able to raise resolution. I found the bundled Epson Software to cumbersome and limited.

Versatile Scan King
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scanner is awesome - because I can scan photos and document at very high resolutions. Lots of versatility - ability to scan - pictures in frames because the cover can raise up in the back

Epson V600 Scanner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd read all the reviews and was wary when I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase this scanner. It's a bit finicky to set up, but now that it's up and running, I'm very pleased with the results. It's great to finally be able to take photos from generations back, digitalize them, organize them and set them up in photo books for family to enjoy now.

Excellent scanner for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with the quality. I was able to scan from negatives and in many cases get better results than scanning the old photos. The software is decent at removing small scratches. It does not do 110 film negatives, and it might be a bit slow for commercial use. But so far it's been through a month or so of heavy home usage, and it's held up well.

Epson Photoscan 600
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one I brought home had a hardware failure diagnosed by Epson after only twelve photos scanned. They had me return it to the store and get a replacement. The replacement was leaving a red line across photos but this stopped after I deleted and then replaced the software on my computer and updated the driver. It is fast to warm up and easy to use.

Great scanner!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a Christmas gift for my hard-to-shop-for husband. He loves it! He has hundreds of slides from a year in the Peace Corps a long time ago and no way to look at them. Scanning them with the Epson Scanner was easy and even fun. Amazing pictures that held up all these years.

Good machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfectly for my simple needs. Setup was a snap. It takes about four minutes to scan four slides at a time. Photos scan very quickly. The installation disc that came with it includes Epson Photo Studio 6, which I doubt I will ever use but may prove useful some day.

Great Scanner for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old combination scanner printer died in the middle of scanning old photos. After reading reviews decided to purchase the Epson because it can scan negatives as well, although I have not had a chance to try that feature yet. Works great for my needs.

Expect trouble if using a Mac connection with hub?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not able to get this scanner to work right for a couple of weeks. It did not connect correctly to my Mac book Pro. I was using a C to USB hub, which works perfectly when connecting the Mac laptop to our printer by USB. I decided on a whim to buy a different brand of hub, and that solved the problem. I don't know if this was a glitch of the scanner or the hub. But now I am able to digitize our old family photos for posterity, which is a long-range project for us.

EPSON V600 REVIEW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am enjoying images I haven't seen literally in decades! If you are looking for an all in one negative/slide/photo scanner look no further. This thing is the bomb! It also handles prints of any size up to 8x10. There is a brief learning curve and you need to experiment with all the settings and how to use the included holders. Also, when working with negatives and slides, just like you were working in darkroom, dust is a real PITA at these levels of enlargement. Compressed air and a soft brush are helpful. You get a copy of Photoshop with your purchase too. Only criticism is the "ICE" feature is only useful in certain situations and actually causes distortion and other problems in others. Picture is actual example of V600 scanned 6x6 negative, cropped, corrected and retouched with PS.

Worth every penny
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item was purchased as a gift for Christmas. So far they love it. Was bought on a recommendation by a friend who purchased both of the Epson scanners. They have thousands of old 35mm slides and this will allow them to upload and save them forever. Also repairs damaged photos and the like. Color correction is another great feature.
