I've had one of these a while, and when it went belly up I figured I'd have trouble and expense finding one as reliable. Amazing, but Epson had not changed the model, and I was able to replace it. Same reliable quality scans. Maybe a bit faster, but not having to relearn and re-calibrate was worth a lot more than the cost to me.

Such a wonderful purchase - it scanned everything so clearly and so easily. We scanned prints of all sized and negatives and it all worked intuitively and so quickly. Great machine.

The Epson Perfection V600 is a nice scanner for old images, it has trays and settings for multiple size negatives and works well on converting old text docs to Word with OCR, all of which is great,,,, but the device loses connectivity midstream frequently. And this is a hardwired cable connection, not blutooth (which isn't available on this product). We even brought the first 1 we bought back to Best Buy and purchased another of the same model because we love the features, and thought maybe we had a lemon .... but the 2nd one does the same thing! The only way to resolve it (after going through the manufacturers' troubleshooting tips, which were not helpful) is to shut the scanner off, wait, and restart the scan. It's annoying. And sometimes takes multiple restarts. But the trade off of good quality photo and negative scans and pretty accurate hard copy doc to digital conversions convinced me to keep it. The next level up cost quite a bit more,,, and this wasn't a cheap unit, so I'm sticking with it. I still get a squinty face when the connectivity repeatedly gets lost, but I remind myself why I kept it: the nice output when it does work. I don't know if I'd recommend this product without a disclaimer about this issue.

This is a reasonable good scanner at a so so price. Everything is over priced these days, so we just have to accept that. As far as scanning goes this scanner does a good job on resolution and color, but you have to get the original flat on the glass or you will have dark areas. This is due to LED lighting instead of the old cathode lamp style like I had previously and they don't make those any more.

Great little photo scanner. Easy to set up. Faster than some others. I had over 200 old BW 120 negatives that my mom had which most are
over 70 years old. This scanner did a great job to transfer to my computer so I could print bigger prints, what a great way to preserve family history.

This a great scanner. I bought it to scan family photos. Some of the photos were so dark and you could not see anything in them. It brighten and removed fuzziness. Restored the faded colors. The scanner is is to use. Has some great options, like scanning documents in to PDFs.

Fast Scan, Great Quality

With many of my previous scanners the scan speed is so slow that you really don't want to scan many items because of the time investment. With the Epson Perfection V600 Photo the scan speed is outstanding. The 'auto' discovery of the actual scan item is also very good, even when multiple items are on the scan bed.
I am using this product to digitize part of a document / photo collection for a local historical society and am having very good results so far. Would like to see software included that could take the multiple JPG and properly compress into PDF rather that needing to scan each page twice to yield the 2 different needed file types.

Have family slides ? This is for you. Scanning four at a time makes this nice. Time of each scan is based on the quality level of the scan. Approximately 2.5 minutes per slide on the next to highest level of resolution. 3,000+ and counting.

Does a Great Job on Old Negatives

Excellent quality scanner. I’ve been using it for about a month now (replacing an old Epson Perfection 1640SU) and it does a great job on documents, photos and transparent media. It’s not immediately obvious but you can download a free fully functional copy SilverFast scanning software with the purchase of this scanner (basic version 8 - just enter the serial number ), and I was immediately able to upgrade it for free to the basic version 9. This software does a great job on old negatives and slides and I’ve been so impressed at how much nicer the images look when compared to the old prints. So far no complaints, easy set up on Windows 11.

4 stars, but I wish I could give it 4.5. It's better than "good", but I cannot give 5.
Applying the settings is not clear enough that I felt comfortable each time that the file was the format I wanted, or the storage folder was the right one, or if the res. was what I intended.
Some old photos had some digital artifacts and needed to be rescanned.
I would like an Adobe Lightroom Classic interface.
Overall, image quality is great - clarity and color are very pleasing.
Note: So far, I have not scanned any negatives or slides.
I would recommend to a friend, and I would buy again.

Excellent scanner. Veryveasy to use although I will probably get another software program for it. The one packaged with it is cumbersome and not what you need to process film and slides for the best high res output.

I am amazed at how great this product works. I bought it to restore old faded pictures and digitize for online storage. It is so easy to use. All you have to do is plug it in and scan. Setup is easy too. I have not tried scanning slides yet, but I anticipate it will be easy too.

Scans 35mm and 120 medium format negatives like a champ. Outputs rich and detailed TIFF files that could be confused for originally coming out of a digital camera. Highly recommended for the price

I needed a scanner to scan slides into jpg format. I had scanned some slides many years ago on an Epson scanner, but I didn't have one of my own. I use a MAC using OS Sierra.
After reading the reviews of this scanner, and being familiar with Epson scanners for many years, I purchased this one.
I scanned my first tray of slides (80 of them) in no time at 300 dpi. This particular tray of slides dates back to 1979, so they have been in their storage boxes for many years.
The quality of the scans is excellent. Some reviews complained about the amount of time that it took to scan the slides, but I have no complaint about this.
This scanner places me in control of the slides and how they are scanned. I am my own "quality control."
I definitely recommend this scanner.

Been using this scanner to scan color negatives and old photos. It scans well, but the image correcting software does not work with consistent results ... but that mostly has to do with each photo being different, I guess. For most image/dust/color correction you have to try the scans at different correcting settings to get the best results. Personally, I've found that sometimes just scanning without any enhancing and then doing the enhancing in Photoshop works best. In spite of these correcting issues, I would still recommend this scanner to a friend.

Very nice product for the money. Previously a scanner of this resolution would have been 1K or more. But the software that is bundled leaves a bit to be desired. Gets the job done, but not much effort or usability has been devoted to it.

Good, flexible color scanning of photos, 35mm slides and negatives. Straightforward, easy to install windows software works right away. MacOS 11 setup requires a bit of research and online hunting to work.
Scanned over 200 50-75 year old slides so far and very pleased with the results!
