Great scanner for both photos and 35 mm slides. It is especially good for old historic photographs. The associated image software is very handy to further process the scanned images. The scanner price is good for these features.

Have used for over a month now scanning large and small photos, black and white and color. I have used it to scan in color slides and negative film strips. Impressed by quality and the amount of time it takes. Even with the negative film strips, only takes a couple minutes with settings for medium to high quality. If doing top DPI and other settings, it does take a few more minutes. Worked with my MacBook after downloading the Epson drivers.

For the price you pay, you get a really high quality scanner. I am using it to scan my negatives, and boy does it ever get sharp detail. Great photo scanner, only down side is the scanning speed, which is SLOW. Especially at higher DPI. Be careful cleaning the bottom because it is very sensitive and picks up dust and scratches easily. It is also very easy at picking up static electricity.

What can I say? It's an excellent photo scanner. I bought this for my mother so that she can start scanning in family photos, and she likes it. It's easy to use, even for a novice.

Scanner does exactly what its supposed to. The software is a little dated but no problems. Sometimes the software takes a while to open and recognize the scanner is ready but no other issues

Scan quality is great. I've been scanning family photos that span back at least 3 generations for the past 3 weeks and it's a simple process with good quality results. I've scanned prints, negatives, positives and slides with great results (over 1400 items so far)! The quality of the scanned a colorized film excites me. You can take a photo negative and scan it into your pc with color at a resolution high enough to make a good quality print. I only have experience with scanners connected to all in one printers and the results on this might be similar for documents, but photos and negatives seem steps above as far as quality goes

Have multiple boxes of photographs I need to scan. This is second scanner I bought. Sent first one back, different brand, because of very poor file quality. Very impressed with this performance. Can put multiple pictures on the bed and it is able to determine each different one and produce individual files. Like the ability to set a name prefix and this simply adds a number to the end. Scan quality is very good when using good photos. Have some old photos that are poor quality and scanned file seems to be a bit poorer than the original for those. Have not used the software that comes with the scanner to adjust file quality.

This is the best scanner I have owned. Hands down. It DOES work with the latest macOS (I am using it with 12.6), but it needs some wrangling that was not explained anywhere in the included docs. So you will need the driver from the web site page to start but that driver alone did not work for me with my existing instal of Epson Scan 2; I had to also install Epson SilverFast 8 (free edition for owners of the V600). Once I installed those, the scanner was detected and away I went scanning my artwork in beautiful 1200dpi resolution.

I used to use a Microtek Artixscan M1 Pro. Like this one, it scanned everything--photos, slides, negatives of all sizes, etc. The Microtek bit the dust after 13 years. It just suddenly stopped powering up. The thing is this--back then, that thing was over $700. This one was $220, and it does all the same things. The only thing the Microtek had over this one is a larger flatbed. Also, the Epson V600 moves faster. Each scan is done in no time, which is especially nice, since I am scanning in hundreds of images in a big multi family photo album project. Highly recommended! (Oh! And it weighs a lot less!)

This is a very good scanner. The quality of the scanned images is far better than I expected with numerous variable resolution options to choose from. The instructions on how to access and use the functionality are poor. Trial and error required time.

I had a bunch of old medium format negatives that i wanted to get scanned and found this scanner while I was researching. The scanner has been fantastic. Scanned all the med format film and moved onto 35mm film and am now working on slides. There are two different holders and will handle up to 3 med formal negs (individual pictures), 2 strips of 35 mm or 4 slides. Or you can scan regular pictures/paper/whatever. One of my favorite features is the "scanning zones" you outline the pictures and each scans into its own file. The scanner is kind of large, it's lightweight but would be awkward to carry around. Max scanning size is 8 1/2 x 11 so if your looking to scan larger images this likely won't work. Scanner also has the option of color and backlight correction while your scanning so if those old negatives have turned pink you can get them adjusted without using an add'l program.
