The light cannon!

This projector is great! It's quiet, has a long throw, excellent horizontal and vertical placement, and shoots light out like a cannon. 3D is so bright that it rivals many 3D movies that I have seen in the theater. The contrast ratio looks just O.K. on paper, but even in a light controlled room the colors are so bright and vivid, the fact that black is not true black isn't an issue... you don't really notice because everything else is just so bright and colorful. In dark scenes, blacks do look a little gray but it's not that bad and you would need to spend another $600 or more to better that, and at that price point you would also loose some brightness. This is a win win projector for my family because during the day my kids can play the XBOX with light coming in to the room, my wife can watch TV or play PVZ with the lights on, and it still performs to my satisfaction with the lights out and the volume up for movie night. This is the best all around multi viewing option projector I have used. Nice job Epson.

One of the best pictures I've ever seen from a projector. Pretty good price as well for what you get. Very good color and brightness, even with some ambient lighting in the room. Watching the NFL is so good on this!!!

This is an excellent first projector for us. It is in our main family room where there is lots of light. It has enough lumens to overcome the situation, in fact when it is dark I turn it down because it is so bright. We did get blackout curtains but they are only needed when the sun is shining directly through the window. I painted the wall with Killz primer and wrapped some pine wood in black felt-like material as a boarder. Friends and family think I spent a fortune on the set-up. It's been really great for the whole family!

I have one of the first projection units, a sharp which cost me $12,500.00 in the late 90's It has 700 lumins and the room had to be dark. You could see the pixels. The unit died 2 monts ago so I looked for another unit. I found the Epson 3500 and all I can say is it is the best
picture by far for the price, in fact it is better than other units costing 3 times as much! I am very happy with this unit that I would recomend it to anyone. If you doubt me go see one for yourself.

I was debating going with a projector from our 70" led. Most of the projectors I've seen were just to dark. This picture is as vibrant, bright and clear as the led flat screen even at 120". Of coarse being in high def is the best but even in standard it is a great picture. Super easy to adjust focus and screen size too.

This projector, as of may 2015, is one of the brightest available for home entertainment. I have been causually watching development for 15 years, and projectors were always too dim or to expensive to be considered a living room tv replacement...untill now. Reviews show this projector puts out more light than is specified. And it works well in an uncontrolled , well lit family room. I have it throwing a 150 inch picture on a wall, and it looks great! It looks even better at night, but looks as good as most LCD displays in the day time. The sound is good for built in stereo, however I wished I sprang an extra $200 for the 3600e model which includes wireless HDMI with an optical out for the for receiver. My receiver is old without hdmi, and I stream via miracast via microsoft dongle so I don't have a way to extract 5.1 sound. The projector only has 2 channel stereo out. My 2015 Samsung blueray player miracast support is a little shakey, but does allow 5.1, and I course 7.1 from an actual blue ray. By the way, blue ray looks fantastic! 3D is as good as in the local cinema. I prefer the rechargable Samsung 3D glasses to the ones that come in the box because they seem to for over my prescription glasses better. Both glasses work well through. A negative is that in 3d the cooling fan goes full blast and is quite notice able. The air discharging doesn't seem too hot, so maybe a firmware update would help it. In 2d it is silent in eco mode, in dynamic the fan can be heard, but the difference in screen brightness in minimal , so I run it in eco. Bulb life is really long in eco too, like 5000hr if I remember correctly. So basically it is best in class bulb life, brightness, and features. Others have better black level, but as a tv replacement black levels don't matter much, and like I said before, it is better than most lcds in this respect. I recommend.

I like this a lot. Originally purchased the home cinema 2500 and was not that impressed. Kept overheating and shutting down randomly. This is way better. Never had that issue with this and the colors are more vibrant not to mention it's quieter. Recommend for a basic to mid tier home theater setup.

I replaced a 7 year old Sony Hs60 3lcd, which at the time was the best in store projector. The Sony was a little weathered and even with new bulb seemed to be fading. We didn't realize how much until we installed this one. I was looking at the 3020 and went in to get it and this one appeared. Made the call to upgrade and glad I did. Have a ceiling mount and projecting 120 inches on a Grey painted theater room wall. We can darken the room completely, and the 3500 lights it up. The picture is so clear and bright it's amazing. We can run it on eco, so there is no noise. On some of the higher settings it can get a little noisy, but tolerable. This projector is so worth the cost. Haven't tried the 3D yet but looking forward to it.

Right out of the box, and onto the table. Home theater setup took less than 10 minutes.
Granted, for a more permanent solution, I would like to mount this upside down from the ceiling, but it was college football playoff day, and I had less than 30 minutes to get ready for the big game. My setup is pretty straight-forward. I connected my Cable TV set-top box via HDMI cable. Turned on the projector and it auto-detected the source signal. Two rings around the lens allow for simple "zoom" and focus control The projector is located in my living room, approximately 15 feet from the screen (which, in my case is a white painted, textured interior wall). Despite the texture on the wall, the image looks incredibly sharp. The sound quality was nice, but lacked dimension. I would recommend supplementing the built-in sound with an outside set of speakers. (I'm using the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System) which provides more than enough sound for my home theater system.
With up to 70,000:1 contrast, the image sharpness was amazing, but so was the color output. This projector is leaps and bounds ahead of cheaper projection units that I've tested.
Common connection types available on the back include HDMI, PC, component video, and USB.
5-star rating given for outstanding image quality, ease of setup, and availability of input options.

We love it and it has a great image and is really bright. We can not wait until the 4K projectors get down to this price but in the mean time this one is perfect! Our only complaint is that it is a little noisy for our taste but is is much less than most other projectors especially for this price point. The image size is very good as well and gives us a much bigger image for the throw distance we had to work with.

I use projectors in my business and my company bought me a very old Sony that has been faithful and still works and has the same lamp for over 12 years now. Last year my company bought me an Epson EX7220 that was an amazing upgrade. I liked it so much I decided to buy an Epson for my grandkids to watch movies outside for movie night. I looked at many models and was going to buy the Epson - PowerLite Home Cinema 3020 3D 3LCD Projector when I saw the Epson - Powerlite Home Cinema 3500. I am glad I waited for this amazing projector. I purchased it and a couple of 3D movies to try out before having the grand kids over and was blown away with the colors and the clarity. This was even in a bright room.
My wife and I watched a 3D movie and it was much clearer than any movie theatre 3D. However I thought the 3D glasses were a little dirty and was looking how to clean them on line since there were not any directions to properly clean them and I found out that there was protective film on both sides of the glasses. So even with the film on both sides of the lens the picture was great but after I took the film off it was just jaw dropping. I brought the grandchildren over and there was a scene in a movie where bubbles were being blown and it was so realistic that the grand kids were trying to catch them in the air. I am very glad I waited for this projector it is awesome.
The only negative thing I would have to say is that for some people this is one heavy Big Boy projector it is much bigger than my old Sony and probably 4 times bigger than my work Epson. For me that is not a problem. Like I said This is the best projector I have used!

Good
1. Picture quality is almost equals to projector 5030 ub.
2. It has a internel speakers, 5030 ub does not.
3. Easy not install and company recommend 150 inch screen is best picture quality ratio. I am watching movies at 250 inch wall. I dont feel any difference in quality.
Cons
1 if you living room has good light it is not good for you. 3500 and 5030 un both have same issues. Both of them are best in low light living room.
2 does not MHL.

I bought this projector to replace a Panasonic 1080 P that finally quit working. I did lots of reviews and this is the projector I picked, plus it was on sale for $200 off. Setup was very easy. I put this in my basement home theater room. The image quality and brightness were astonishing! Due to the brightness, offset capabilities and mechanical zoom, placement of this project in the room was very flexible. I cannot believe how vast an improvement this was over my Panasonic, which I bought 8 years ago and loved until it died. Projector technologies have improved leaps and bounds in the last 5 years. I would highly recommend this projector for anyone, whether they're in a dedicated theater room or even a brightly lit living space.

I did a lot of research and demo testing before I bought this projector. This is by far the best out of the four I tested in the $1500 area. The projector is easy to set up and is very quiet. When projected onto a proper screen it looks amazing and the 3D is very clear and bright.

I have had DLP (HD65)720p for a long time and they are great but they don't look like this projector. No rainbow to worry about. A little big but a light cannon. Stop looking for a projector and just buy the Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 3500 LCD, you will be happy you did :)

This unit is currently being used as our 110" living room display. Setup was a breeze thanks to features that would normally be found on higher end projectors. This projector is sitting on top of a small endtable at the rear of the room, roughly 3' off the floor and approximately 1.5' off center of the screen (left to right). Setting the image height was super simple and only involved backing out the front feet to the desired height. If not for the horizontal/vertical lens shift, it wouldn't be possible to pull off the 1.5' offset between the lens and the center of the screen with zero distortion of the image. The knobs to control this feature seem to have some sloppy points and notchy points that make fitting the image to your screen slightly awkward. However, since my initial setup, I've not needed to adjust it. Thanks to the zoom ring on the lens, you dont have to worry so much about the throw of this projector. There is quite a bit of flexibility as far as placing the projector at different distances from the screen and still being able to hit your screen dimensions. Finally, a little keystone correction (due to the projector being angled slightly up) and after a slight twist of the focus ring, I was up and running.
Image quality is quite good. This projector is very bright, capable of producing enough brightness (even in ECO mode) to combate with 4 windows and a glass slider worth of daylight and still produce a quality image. HD sources, especially BluRay, look fantastic! This projector has had zero issues displaying every source I've thrown at it. The onboard Image processing settings "super-resolution, noise reduction, sharpness" (to name a few) are very nice features especially when it comes to watching cable/satellite sources, since the image quality seems to vary so much between networks and TV shows. I do agree with other reviews, that of the 5 color modes, the uncalibrated "natural" mode seems to have the most accurate color reproduction. Of course RGBCMY, gamma, color temp, and skin tone settings are fully customizable for those who want to squeeze every bit of perfection out of this projector.
Now onto my favorite part about this projector... Remember all the brightness I talked about earlier? It doesn't just come in handy for battling ambient light. It is also the reason why this projector is a 3D beast! There are several other projectors on the market capable of producing 3D images. The problem with those other projectors (including higher end projectors) is when you slip on those glasses, your left with a dim image lacking detail in dark scenes and shadows. This is not an issue with this projector. 3D BluRays are absolutely stunning! So much that I don't really care to watch movies in 2D anymore. The experience is that good! BTW, Epson includes 2 pair of rechargeable glasses that are as good if not better than any I've used previously.
In summary, I am completely satisfied with this projector as it has exceeded my expectations. I'm literally blown away by its 3D capabilities and impressed by its performance in excessive ambient light. I did quite a bit of research before deciding on this unit and after enjoying it for about a month, I feel that it's fairly accurately priced for what you get. I've really not come across Many negatives. The price was even more right when I purchased, as this unit came with a $200 Best Buy gift card which paid for the majority of my motorized screen. Very pleased...

I have been very happy with this purchase. I am using it with a Silver ticket 100" grey 1.0 gain screen and it works much better than expected in a family room that has large windows. It will get washed out if sunlight is shining directly on screen, but handles ambient light very well due to high light output of projector.
If room is very dark/light controlled, I would recommend going with Sony HW40ES or Epson 5030UB as these will provide better black levels and will still be bright for dark room.

I bought the Epson projector to replace my Panasonic projector that died after 5 years of faithful service. With the advances in technology it's obvious that my new Epson is a far superior machine. It's brighter, better resolution, quieter and has speakers. the replacement lamp is half the price of the panasonic. So far I'm very happy
