The light cannon!
This projector is great! It's quiet, has a long throw, excellent horizontal and vertical placement, and shoots light out like a cannon. 3D is so bright that it rivals many 3D movies that I have seen in the theater. The contrast ratio looks just O.K. on paper, but even in a light controlled room the colors are so bright and vivid, the fact that black is not true black isn't an issue... you don't really notice because everything else is just so bright and colorful. In dark scenes, blacks do look a little gray but it's not that bad and you would need to spend another $600 or more to better that, and at that price point you would also loose some brightness. This is a win win projector for my family because during the day my kids can play the XBOX with light coming in to the room, my wife can watch TV or play PVZ with the lights on, and it still performs to my satisfaction with the lights out and the volume up for movie night. This is the best all around multi viewing option projector I have used. Nice job Epson.

Great projector, awesome picture!!
One of the best pictures I've ever seen from a projector. Pretty good price as well for what you get. Very good color and brightness, even with some ambient lighting in the room. Watching the NFL is so good on this!!!

Great for the whole family!
This is an excellent first projector for us. It is in our main family room where there is lots of light. It has enough lumens to overcome the situation, in fact when it is dark I turn it down because it is so bright. We did get blackout curtains but they are only needed when the sun is shining directly through the window. I painted the wall with Killz primer and wrapped some pine wood in black felt-like material as a boarder. Friends and family think I spent a fortune on the set-up. It's been really great for the whole family!
