Disclosure. I am a member of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network. I received the Epson VS250 at no cost for review purposes. The following is my honest, unbiased review. I received no monetary compensation. The Epson VS250 Projector is Epson's business projector. It projects at SVGA (800x600) which is perfect for business presentations. In fact, Epson position this as a portable business projector. What's in the box: - Epson VS250 Projector - Power Cable - VGA Cable - Remote Control + Batteries - Quick Start Guide - CD and manual Setup of the Epson VS250 is simple. It only took a few minutes to unbox and I had my Windows laptop connected by HDMI (HDMI cable not supplied). On the technical side, the VS250 outputs at 3200 lumens. In simple terms, this is more than bright enough for a room with the lights on or daylight, and with the lights off this projector is bright. Input wise, the projector supports VGA, HDMI, Composite and USB input. You can also connect to the projector using WiFi (you need to enable WiFi in the settings menu). If you use WiFi, there are apps available for iOS and Android that let you connect direct from your mobile device and project. My real world use for this is for business purposes. I need a portable projector for presentations and one that I can readily carry. The Epson VS250 perfectly fulfills that need. Being VGA, it's 800x600 resolution is perfect for PowerPoint. You can manually adjust focus, and scale of the image. The sliding lens cover is manual and when closed will also mute the audio. It's worth noting, the Epson VS250 has an inbuilt speaker. When you connect via HDMI, that means it will output sound. The sound is more than adequate for presentations and the occasional video (and is not drowned out by the fan, btw the fan is quiet). But if you're looking for a HD movie quality projector and audio combination, you would need to spend more and upgrade. Yes, the Epson VS250 can be used for a movie, but at VGA it's not ideal (although no complaints from me when showing my class a brief instructional video on YouTube). So it has no problem outputing video. The VS250 doesn't have the ability to plug in an external speaker, so if you were seriously using it daily in large room and needed better sound, you would be best to connect by VGA and plug an external speaker into your laptop. One of the reasons to buy an Epson projector over others is that Epson comes with a 2 year warranty and great technical support and 90 days on the original lamp. It also comes with Roadside Assistance. I know that makes it sound like a car, but basically they know you will use it as a portable on-the-road projector, so if it fails during warranty they will get you back up and running. This is great peace of mind. I am going to primarily use this as a portable office projector. In use like this, the Epson VS250 has a small center foot you can extend and adjust for various heights. If you need rear height, there are 2x screw out height adjustments on the rear corners. But in an office environment, on a desk, the projector threw a perfect picture and just needed the front foot. If you were to mount the projector, you can use the incuded remote control to switch inputs, turn it off, adjust the speaker volume etc. and the remote works perfectly and was responsive. Overal, I think the Epson VS250 is a great value projector. It's light (under 6lb by my tests) the brightness and colors are brilliant, and it supports multiple input types. I love the portability, the brightness and ease of use and the Epson warranty and support approach gives me the confidence needed to take it on the road.

I often travel and present in varying different kinds of setups for my career - connected displays, built in projectors, and sometimes I come across a site that has nothing. That's when it becomes key to have a portable projector in your bag! This model is on the smallest side of enterprise grade professional projectors. This particular model sits at the intersection of brightness, size/weight, and resolution. While 800x600 ius on the small side it works well for me at an extremely high value. This projector is a star both in a fully lit room and with the lights off/lowered. Brightness will blow your image up VERY visible in spite of overhead flourescent lights. I dig the digital/automatic keystoning that adjusts itself as it goes. Build is decent an Epson is a well known name in projectors. I haven't had any running or hookup issues with this projector in my time using it. Overall I love this thing and I travel with it in the car all the time. The size is small enough that it doesn't take up too much space. I DO wish at this price point it came with a bag or carrying case. I would recommend this projector to anyone looking for a value projector in the enterprise realm that has outgrown a pico projector. The attached photos show a regular screen being projected on the wall both with the lights on and off.

I have a similar projector in my office that never quite got bright enough. This projector solved that problem for us in the office. Even after only 2 days use, I can immediately tell the difference. Even with some lights in the room on we get good brightness on the projected image. I would not buy this projector for strict home theatre use, but for occasional entertainment use it is great for the price, however the small built-in speaker does not get loud enough for movies. It is perfect for office meetings. Keep in mind this projector is not HD resolution, and meant for business use. However you can still play movies thru your computer or media device to it, even if those are HD. You could always connect speakers direct to your video source and output the sound that way if you need better and louder sound. Projector comes with the projector itself (around 7 pounds), power cable, VGA cable (for older computers/laptops), remote control, and manuals. I wish they would have thrown in an HDMI cable (it does not come with one). You can connect some older format devices, composite for example, and VGA. The maximum output resolution is 800x600. But you can still connect any HDMI output devices to it, and HDMI devices will also pass thru your sound to the built in speakers. Most newer laptops have HDMI outputs, while older ones have VGA. Because this is a fairly light weight projector, it is easy to take with you. I would keep the box for taking it with you. There is a built in speaker, but keep in mind you will have to figure out a way to get sound out directly from your laptop if you don’t want it coming from the speaker on the projector. It might be a bit hard to hear in very large rooms. You can adjust the size of the projected image, and focus on the projector itself. There are feet to adjust the angle and height of the projector if you are just putting it on a flat surface. The projector is also mountable, but I would imagine most people would not be using it that way, as this is intended more as a portable projector, and not a home theatre one. Remote is useful whether it is mounted or just sitting on a desk or other flat surface. It can be used to control volume, control power, and also switch inputs, incase you have more than 1 device connected to it at once. Overall, I would say this is a very good little business projector, and would recommend it to anyone needing something small and portable for presentations.

    Upgraded From Pocket Projector

At holistic support groups, I use Power Point to promote detox protocols to heal through nutrition. I was using the pocket-sized 3M MPro 150 to project images but because I had trouble getting the level of resolution I need for audiences in larger rooms, I finally decided to explore the Epson VS250. The unit is light but nowhere near as light as the 3M pocket sized projector; but, the trade-off was worth it because I needed the upgrade from a pocket sized image. Though the VS250 unit is a much larger foot print, I get a higher resolution for projecting not only my PP’s; but, I can also use it to stream movies and other media from my laptop. Hooking up my Bluetooth speakers brings me the sound level I need for large rooms and action movies and other media I want to stream from my laptop. The Epson has a quick’n easy set up guide. Multiple ports allow a variety of hook ups via 2 USB ports, audio, video, computer and HDMI. Thankfully, I have an HDMI cable on hand; but, all I needed for my dry runs was the cable included with the unit to link my laptop to the projector. Included, as well, is a handy remote (batteries included). You can adjust the image and focus as well as toggle through the menu from the remote or from the touch pad on top of the projector. The icons make moving through the menu pretty intuitive; but, it’s always good to review instructions. The most unusual perk is the Epson EXTRA CARE Road Service coverage. So, if you’re on the road and have any problems, you don’t have to hassle with organizing a repair. Support is a phone call away. The number is on the underside of the unit. If replacement is required, they promise to be 'pronto'. Would be nice if the warranty could be extended beyond the one year limited for the projector and the 90 day limited on the lamp. But, shop around for bank credit cards that offer extended coverage on electronics, furnishings, etc as a part of their benefits program. I get some piece of mind from the coverage, especially for mobile devices that are exposed to greater risk.

This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I have several projectors as we use them for school projects for the older of my six kids, Work presentations for me, and we like to use them to watch movies or play video games on a giant screen as well. This one was impressive from the start. It is a bit bigger than one of the others I have and the same as another. Weight wise it’s probably around 3lbs. It is light enough that my children can move it around. It has multiple inputs from VGA to HDMI. I connected a fire stick tv to it and it worked great. There are multiple ways to adjust the picture. Has 3 legs to adjust the height of the screen, 2 screw able and one in front that drops down when you lift up. It has a horizontal keystone slider. The vertical is automatic that works well but you can do it manually too. The sound from the speaker is better than other projectors that I have used. There is no headphone jack if you wanted to add an external speaker. It has wireless LAN as well which works well. I wasn’t also able to get it to work well with my windows laptop. It comes with a remote which my other ones don’t have and that is an awesome feature. The remote controls the aspect ratio, color mode, input mode, page up and down, and zoom among other things. It’s pretty handy. Overall I would say this is a better quality product than I have used in the past and I would recommend it.

Great picture wish it came with the Wi-Fi module

“This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.” We have been looking for a projector to replace the one we have for our community movie night. It is set up on the community field and takes place in summer. Last year we had an issue with the projector being not bright enough as even at 8 ‘o’ clock it is not dark enough. We just had the 1st movie night with the Epson VS250 projector and everyone was impressed by how bright it was even though we still had some light. Even when I project it in our home to play a movie I did not have to turn off the lights and were still able to see it very clearly. The best feature of the projector is the bright, clear picture. Setting up was also very easy though there were not much instruction about the remote, it was not too hard to figure out how it will work. I liked that the battery for the remote was included. The projector came with a VGA cord but missed having an HDMI which is the cord most people needs nowadays. None of our computers have a VGA port, thankfully I had an extra cord at home. The other thing that I really wish the projector came with was the WI-FI Module. I prefer setting things wirelessly and the projector is costly enough to come with the module. I just ordered the wi-fi module and am waiting for it hopefully it will make the connections and projections much easier. Overall a very satisfactory projector especially if your requirement is for a brighter HD quality picture you can surely go for it.

“This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.” This projector is worth every penny and can easily compete with higher priced projectors. The picture is incredible in high definition, and looks absolutely clear!! We watched a couple of kid movies and my niece was in awe!! You can easily change the size of the picture, the settings as it’s very user friendly, and the projector is very quiet. It never overheated after almost 3 hours of continuous use. The speaker sounds amazing and it gives you the experience of a movie theater at home. I was able to hook it up to my old Samsung Galaxy 5 where I had the movies stored with an MHL cable using the HDMI port on the projector. I was able to see everything on my phone with this pretty awesome hookup. The projector is everything it claims to be plus more and can easily be carried from room to room or transported to church, work or any social gathering. Epson has outdone itself and made a great product that will be enjoyed for years to come.

This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. We have been looking for a projector to use for movie nights both while at home and while we're traveling. We had a tiny projector that we used to watch movies on the side of our trailer while camping but it just wasn't the quality we wanted. The Epson VS250 is exactly what we were looking for. It is super simple to set up and run via USB cable from our laptop. With just a quick plug into the USB port we were rolling. It also comes with VGA and HDMI ports for use with multiple media sources. It does now, however, come with cables for any of these. With a brightness of 3200 lumens your room doesn't need to be dark to see the projection, which is nice for starting movies before it's dark out. The harsh light of the sunset did prove to be a bit difficult but I don't think that's the projector's fault. The audio output also leaves a bit to be desired. While we we're able to hear the sound from the movie we found that we were all huddled very close to the projector in order to do so. I imagine this wouldn't be quite as much of an issue for business presentations or watching movies in a smaller, enclosed environment. Overall I am quite happy with the Epson VS250 projector. At the price point it offers great value and performance.

This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This projector is very easy and fast setting up out of the box. It has a lot of different settings, but it's very user friendly in using. I set it up, and used it without reading the instructions first just to see how easy it is to use. After going back and reading the instructions they were very detailed, and easy to understand for those who may not be to tech savvy. I love that you can hook the projector to your laptop, TV, Phone, and different media devices with cords you already have. Connecting each one is very easy. The picture is amazing, as well as being able to change the size etc. for your preference. Also it has great sound quality, and while running you can't even really hear it. I had it one at once for a few hours, and it never overheated. This projector is well worth the cost, and just as good as the higher priced ones. It will do anything you need to do with a projector, so it's a good purchase. One last thing I loved is it's compact size. It's very easy to move around, and take to different locations.

I absolutely love this projector. This machine will fit all your needs (work or play). When I opened the VS250,I immediately connected it to my laptop to check out it's capabilities. Hands down, the most beautiful display I've seen from a projector in this price range. I then decided to get creative and connected a game console to it. One plug of an HDMI cable and I was playing a multiplayer match on my ceiling. It shows a great picture even in a moderately lit room. The sound quality is lovely, with very little distortion. I could bore you with specs, but you can read that in the product description. I'm telling you that this very simple and portable machine does what it says and more. I highly recommend the Epson VS250 to anyone looking to step up their work and entertainment game. This is definite buy.

This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I am beyond happy with this product. It arrived safely and securely packaged. All of the parts nicely packaged. Set up was a breeze. I followed the instructions and had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. I was able to hook it up to my laptop and to my streaming device. The projector works really well too. Picture quality is perfect. It does get warm when in use for a long time but have not had any issue with it getting too hot. The fan is not as quiet as I'd like but honestly that's not an issue because the sound quality from this projector is really great. I've used it hooked up to separate speakers and not, the sound is good regardless. I would highly recommend this product to anyone considering purchasing a projector. It is very intuitive to set up and use, and the sound and picture quality are professional looking. Perfect for home use, events, and work uses too.

This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The exciting thing is that you can project a huge image on to the wall, and that gives you the movie theater experience. The image looks like that, and the colors are true and accurate. The images are nice and bright even in a well-lit room. I got the projector out of the box, plugged it in to the wall, hooked it up to my computer. All this only took about 10 minutes. I was able to watch a movie, and the projected image was about 15 ft, and even at that size, I lost nothing in image quality. The unit itself feels high quality and durable. The speakers are a little soft, which is sufficient for a small group of people, but if the group is larger, you will need external speakers. Overall, this is a well-made, high-quality projector that doesn't break the bank. I would definitely recommend the Epson VS250 Projector whether it be for business or personal use.

I am very happy with my Projector, I have been teaching for over a year now and like everything else times are changing. So as times change we have to adjust likewise. I used my projector to keep my students envolved and engaged. The picture was so clear and the mobility of my projector was far none! My class and I were able to bond after viewing the presentations that we all had to present with our new class Projector! The Epson Projector VS250 has added significant improvements to my next level of development and teaching and is a must have for the professional and or personal usage! My family and I got a chance to watch a Family Movie and have a family movie night as well! So not only did I score for my students. I also scored for my family two for one! Can’t beat that at all! One of the best investments by far!

We bought this projector to put in the home theater of our vacation rental. Our Epson 1440 had gotten damaged and we didn’t want to spend a lot of money. Our tech guy suggested we put an inexpensive projector in there. After purchasing and installing this one we knew it was a mistake. The first image is a close-up of the picture quality of the VS 250. It’s just not clear enough to enjoy TV and movies. So we returned it and replaced it with the Epson 1450. You can compare the first image to the second one and see the difference. The VS 250 may be fine for projecting graphs and simple slideshows but I would not recommend it for your home theater.

This is a great projector for the price, and it works fabulously in my movie room/home theater. I was pleasantly surprised with the image quality and how wonderful the colors and contrast look. There is a slight "screen door effect", which is basically like a grid on the picture. However, if you're sitting far enough from the screen, it's not very noticeable. I just set my focus knob so it's just slightly out of focus (the image is still clear, but it just softens it out a bit) so that it's less noticeable, and it really doesn't bother me at all. For the price, you really can't beat this. I'm quite happy with my purchase so far.

This is a review for the Epson VS250 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. There are many reasons to purchase this projector. Which include it is easy to use and is just light enough to be mobile. The clarity is something that I was pleasantly surprised by. You can watch videos, movies or shows with this projector and you will feel like you are viewing it on a tv. This is a big plus for me. Additionally you will have be able to view photos on this as well without that fuzzy projector look. The not so positive part of this projector is that it doesn't have sound built into it so you will need something else to help the volume be loud enough for the size of the room. If that is not a deal breaker for you then this is the projector for you. You can use this for all your projector needs and wants. I would recommend this for personal and professional use.

I think this projector does everything it claims, but I haven't used it more than a couple of times just to get familiar with it. I use it for art compositions and loaded images onto a thumb drive to use in the USB port, which worked for some, but not all images. Don't know why as they weren't copyrighted. But, connecting the projector to my laptop via VGA cable worked like a charm once I got the image large enough to crop out all the extraneous desktop images, etc. The projected image was sharp and only a little distorted because I couldn't make the adjustments as described in the instructions. The adjustments worked one time using the thumb drive then never again, but worked flawlessly when connected to my computer. Overall, it does what I want.

I bought this for my children to watch movies outdoors. The volume is sufficient but haven’t tried connecting speakers and not sure if it’s possible. I am able to use my phone and connect a Lightning Digital AV Adapter to the hdmi cord directly into the hdmi port. I am also able to use a fire stick for all movies. The picture is great even with the light on. I haven’t put it outside yet but I am able to move this anywhere. I would say the price is small for what you get. Many projectors are more expensive which is really not necessary for our needs. The only negative thing I have to say is that the batteries that came with this were corroded and we were unable to use them. Easy fix. I am overall very pleased with my purchase!

I'm not sure what others are seeing with this projector that I'm not but the image with my projector is pretty lousy for presentations. Contrast is low, lettering is not crisp and colors are washed out. I'm projecting in a dimly lit room, on a brand new screen and have gone through every single setting in order to optimize the image. The result is not very impressive and I'm fearful that people in the back of the room will have trouble understanding some of the information on various screens. After reading other glowing reviews I was expecting much more out of this unit.

Set up was a breeze; I had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. I intend to use this projector purely for recreation (movies and video games). To that end, the picture was amazingly crisp and sharp. I only had two small call outs. First, the sound quality could be a little better and secondly, I had to move the unit closer to my viewing screen than I would have liked (the telescoping feature only adjusted so far). Overall, great unit that I would definitely recommend.
