Good scanner, but the wireless part is super janky
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The scanner itself is fine, but the wireless component is extremely unreliable when accessed from a computer. I've deployed them on windows and macs, and i'd recommend using the usb connection for your computer. You can use the wireless component to scan to your phone though, which seems to be fine.

Very easy to use, so far dependable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to get remote office set up per COVID. I am not very tech savvy. I was able to get it to set up to our office dropbox. Made me very efficient at home. Thinking of getting two more for my two assistants to use.

Pretty darn good
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love it because it's quick and easy - it is fabulous to scan in a ton of documents and then send them to the shredder. Only downside is that I haven't figured out how to make the quality of the scan to be as crisp as I would like, so it definitely looks like it was scanned.

Wireless Connectivity Failed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a robust scanner with a small footprint. Excited about the Epson WorkForce which I am using with my new iMac. Paid extra $$$ for the wireless feature which did not work despite being adjacent to my desktop. Good software. Will keep at it

Replacing an older ES560
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Epson ES560 had a faulty part and would not scan multiple documents anymore, so I decided to replace it. The ES500W is a definite improvement in terms of the software for scanning, and some of the improved hardware. So far this one has worked great!

Very handy. Only complaint is occasionally having difficulty connecting which forces a pc reboot. Definitely have this issue if you don't boot pc while connected to scannef

Easy to setup & use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Machine is much to delicate for how much it costs. It simply won't last. It will break before I get my monies worth. It also can't handle problems with wrinkles in paper, dust and lint.

Epson Scanner
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Scans fast but most people have 5G compatible wifi routers. Good scanner overall except it must be connected to 2.4G to work & expensive.

Great scanner.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 4th Epson scanner that we’ve purchased for our law office. We scan all of our documents that go into our files. We’ve never had any issues with any of them. They might be a little pricey but it’s totally work it.

Exceeded expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first experience using a stand-alone scanner, having used various all-in-one printers for my past scanning needs. I must say, I am thoroughly impressed! The scanner was very easy to set up, install driver software, and wirelessly connect to my laptop. In fact, the wireless setup was completely automatic and connected without needing to enter wifi passwords or other network settings. The unit is also very compact when not in use, thereby saving desk/shelf space. As far as actual scanning, the unit has performed flawlessly. I am truly quite impressed with its features. The double sided scanning of both B/W and Color is very fast and with a wide range of adjustable software settings, you can get very clear and clean scans. My first color document scan did have some rainbowing effect on parts of the page, but a quick adjustment in the scanning preferences (upping dpi and turning on descreening) quickly fixed the issue and now the color scans are exceptionally clean, clear, and true to color. The only issue I have encountered was trying to use the Start Scan button on the unit itself. No matter what I tried in the included Document Capture Pro software, I could not get it to work. After reviewing the troubleshooting section of the downloadable user guide, I discovered you must use the (also included) Epson Scan 2 software to utilize the scanner Start button when connected via WiFi and not USB. Not a big issue. After discovering this, the Start button has worked flawlessly every time. Having used the scanner for only a few weeks, I cannot comment on its durability. However, it does look and feel well constructed and operates very smoothly compared to many of today’s flimsy plastic printer/scanners. The fold down input tray covers the unit’s openings which will cut down on dust buildup inside the unit when not in use. The unit also opens very easily to remove jams and allow internal cleaning. With occasional wipe-downs, I expect this scanner to have a good long life. This is a review for the Epson ES-500W Wireless Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
