Good Scanner But Not Truly Mobile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The WorkForce ES-60W is a wireless portable scanner. It scans a single item at a time from 8x11 sheet of paper to business cards, receipts, and credit cards. It can perform both single sided and double sided scanning. The size of the scanner makes it not quite pocketable, but it's pretty easy to take on the go. A single charge should allow for a few hundred scans, which is likely sufficient for something designed to be portable. The user interface is pretty simple and easy to use though the power button was not that intuitive. One needs to slide and hold it at the ON position to turn it on and off. It seems just sliding it to ON gives you battery status. Given that it's a slider, this doesn't make sense - one is unlikely to accidentally turn the scanner off. You can configure the scanner to either join your wireless network or expose it's own that your phone or PC/laptop connect to and use. The scanner advertises as a one-touch solution to scanning documents to the cloud. It's not that simple. Heck, it's not even that simple just to scan documents to a connected phone. I found in order to scan documents, I needed to open the app, go to the scanning page, and hit scan in the app. The scan button on the scanner itself seems to only be functional for PC based scanning. What would be useful is for it to auto launch the app and start scanning or at least let you scan into the app while you have it open. Another frustrating aspect of this the app seems to disconnect from the scanner and need to reconnect each time you start a new scan, even if you've not closed the app. This slows down things and makes using the scanner a bit of a pain. Unfortunately, it seems the ES-60W works best when used with a PC and that starts to decrease the utility of having a portable scanner. While I can see a business case where someone who travels regularly might have this on hand to deal with scanning a small number of documents, it doesn't make sense if you'd like to have it around to capture receipts and other miscellaneous documents while on the go. The ES-60W does some things well, but the usability issues really make it a niche product.

awsome equipment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first review ever and first time using the Epson WorkForce Wireless Scanner. I found that it was simple to use and that the program was very easy to download. It's also very convenient to use, just push a button and it scans. Plus you can take I with you anywhere. It is also not so technically advance that you can't figure out how to use it. I also love the high quality, the picture comes out perfect when scanned. I would definitely recommend this portable scanner for anyone and everyone. I also like the compactness of the size, you don't need a large bag, you can put it in a purse or briefcase and go. All business owners who travel or are constantly on the go should own one. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES60W Wireless Portable Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a Beta test and review.

fast and lightweight
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review for the Epson workforce es-60w wireless portable document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I really like the product. Its so fast and lightweight. my primary use is scanning my HSA receipts and it accomplishes this task well and fast. It is intuitive and does a great job. I did find that the software took a while to get use too. I did like that the software is downloaded from Epson so no disk in the box. The product looks great, well built. I will be buying one for my daughter to use professionally with clients and it will fit right in her briefcase. the wireless set up is easy and the mobile app make its terrific on the go. Pros, usb or wireless settings. mobile app, easy set up, fast and lightweight, reasonably priced. cons limited options after the document is scanned

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Epson WorkForce ES-60W Wireless Portable Sheet-fed Document Scanner for PC and Mac There are two versions of this scanner package. The ES-60 unit is the same for both. One comes with home and billing software, the other doesn't. When i opened the scanner, i was impressed with how small the unit is. It needed charged before the first use. You need to navigate to the Epson website and download the driver and scanner software, there are no disks included. Setup asks how you want to connect the scanner, usb or wi-fi. In either case, usb connectivity is installed. The wi-fi setup was straight forward and connected on the first try. There’s an app for that! Yep, download the Epson connect app from your favorite app store and run through the setup and you can scan right to your android or iPhone. I had no trouble connecting the scanner to my phone and was able to upload the scanned documents right to my google drive. Scans are fast and the quality is decent. The software allows you to save them as either a .pdf or .jpg. A couple of other settings in the software to be mindful of. The first is autofeed. If you have multiple pages to scan, make sure this setting is on, this way you simply insert the pages, one after the other to scan them. It makes it much easier. The 2nd is deskew. Its difficult to get each page perfectly lined up against the scanner roller so pretty much every scan i had, especially with larger paper, was a bit skewed. Don't even think of using this for photos unless you purchase the additional feeder page, which wraps around the photos so they feed through. The instructions say it doesn't scan photos and they correct. I tried with various pictures and not one of them fed properly. I did not have any trouble with glossy magazine pages though. I really like the Epson ES-60W scanner, it is perfect for people who have a need to scan documents while on the go. Epson rates the battery for 300 scans depending on the settings. I didn’t have 300 documents to scan but the battery got through all my initial scanning with lots of room to spare. Pros: Portability Scanning speed for both color and black and white Wireless - connects via wifi to your computer and phone Autofeed Cons: Skewed images Photo feeder page is additional Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Excellent portable scanner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the last few years I’ve been using my cell phone as a portable scanner and my desktop printer/scanner/fax for everything else. I have to say, this is my first portable scanner and it’s a good one! It scans very quickly and the output quality from it is surprisingly clear. I’ve also scanned some of my old photos using the scanning sheets (bought separately on the Epson site) and they also came out good. Unfortunately, the software isn’t advanced enough for modifying and enhancing old photos, I was able to do that with my Photo Editing software. Setting it up with the USB cable was very quick and easy. The WiFi setup is a little more challenging as the scanner needs to be fully charged before being able to hook it up wirelessly. That’s a bit inconvenient as I see it because once setup is done using USB, setting it up wirelessly after that is very time consuming and a bit frustrating. I got around that by fully charging it, then reinstalling the software and just choosing WiFi connection instead of USB. The startup guide that comes with it is easy to follow explaining that you need to go to the Epson website to download the software for the scanner itself. One important note, if you have a router that accepts both 2.4 and 5Ghz make sure that you connect the scanner and your PC/Laptop wirelessly to the 2.4Ghz band. It won’t recognize the 5Ghz band, unfortunately. The size is compact (about 10” L x 1¼”H x 2” W) and light and fits perfectly in my laptop case as well as any briefcase. It didn’t come with a case, but that can be purchased online easy enough, which I did. I used it mainly for scanning documents and receipts so that I could eliminate a mountain of paperwork on my desk, and it worked flawlessly. I downloaded the mobile app Epson DocumentScan for both iOS and Android. I haven’t used that yet, but I plan to try it in the near future. All in all, this is a great little portable scanner for on the road or for personal use closer than a large flatbed scanner.

Great Portable Scanner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a portable scanner for on the go scanning when I have to work out of the office and need to upload documents and this Epson Workforce ES-60W is more than what I could've asked for. It is so small that it actually fits in my front pocket. It is the most compact scanner that I have seen and the resolution of the PDF is crystal clear it even beats my desk scanner in the office. This scanner runs on battery power and doesn't need to be connected to a power source like your laptop so that was a plus feature especially since I could just scan directly onto my phone when I didn't want to carry around too many things. I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone that wants the most portable scanner possible and wants crystal clear scans.

Great portable document scanner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Epson WorkForce ES-60W Wireless Portable Sheet-fed Document Scanner for PC and Mac I received this scanner with a small get started instruction sheet. In about 2 days I received more instructions from Epson with additional instructions on their web site. A note about how I’m using this scanner. I use it only for documents, not photos, so this review has no photo section. It clearly states it is a document scanner and that’s how I am using it. Setup was very easy on my laptop with the supplied USB cable. That’s where it’s going to be used, to travel with the laptop and scan documents in the field. Download the setup program and follow the included instructions. The scan interface is straight forward and works flawlessly. I charged the scanner until it was fully charged but using it with the USB cable seemed to work without it being charged. Setting it up for wireless scanning was a different animal all together. Instruction say to attach the scanner to you phone or tablet and use the app to configure the scanner. The only phone I have is Android and does not have a full size USB. I guess I could have tried an OTG cable but nothing in the instructions says you need to do that. All 4 of my tablets are Windows tablets. They all have full size USB, but no windows app to configure the Wi-Fi. It does seem to me that there is not much need to configure the wireless since the SSID and password are printed right on the bottom of the scanner. Skipping the wireless setup on my windows tablet I was able to scan but it was not as straight forward as with the cable. Scanning to my phone was just as easy as with the cable to my laptop once the app was installed. The quality of the scan is above average for a portable scanner. This is the first one I’ve used that makes a really good quality scan. It will import to Word and many other formats. Going into Word is easy if it’s just words on a page. If the page has bar codes and other non-standard items it will just confuse the OCR software. It scans to a PDF with very good resolution and is easily read and reprinted. I’m not sure why you would want to scan to your phone or tablet but that function does work. I see this as a portable work scanner to be lugged along in your laptop bag. It comes with a cleaning sheet and a calibration sheet. A USB cable for charging and laptop use. It is very light and easy to use. At this price point it is a complete win for a document scanner.

The way portable equipment should be designed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had compact and full-size scanners in use for years now, and they are very handy in this new digital age. I did add one with mobile connectivity capabilities this past year, but although small, it still required a power adapter, not to mention being a tad bit bulky. The Epson ES-60W changes all of that. Just opening the box brings joy to anyone looking for a truly portable scanner. The product is very well built and packaged, and it has a footprint about the size of 2 skinny dry-board erasers. No power adapter. No feeder or catch trays. Just the device and a micro-USB cable. Set up was very simple using the included guide. I was scanning documents to my PC within 5 minutes or so, and scanning from my phone in about the same amount of time. With the PC, you can connect to the scanner wirelessly or with a wired connection using a micro-USB cable. Of course wireless is preferred – it’s quick and clean. My only issue with this device is the lack of a protective bag or carrying case/bag. This would be an inexpensive addition that serves as a great value for the customer. Need a bag to protect a device that has a feeder and exit – at least I think so. How does it perform? Admirably. For a scanner this size, scans were quick with clear quality. Software performance was good as well. It only took about a half second or so for documents to appear in the software of choice. Scans can be initiated from the device using the scan button and from the software. I ran into a bit of an issue using the scan button during the test phase of the setup process, but I was able to scan from the software just fine. Not sure what the issue was, but it ultimately didn’t prevent me from scanning. Epson offers OCR software and a free trial of a receipt management integration software. This software integrates with Quicken, QuickBooks, and TurboTax to help users manage their expenses. This is a welcome addition to some users, but I haven’t used software like that to manage my expenses – maybe I should consider it. Overall, I like the ES-60W. It’s small and compact, flexible in connectivity and software options, and performs very well. It is one of the more functional mobile accessories I have seen in recent years. Can’t go wrong with this one.

Road Warrior Must Have
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I admit that I've been using my phone camera as a cheap scanner by just snapping a quick shot but image quality and lighting can be an issue. There are several smart phone scanner apps that will use your phone camera and create a PDF. It's all well and good but I usually end up having to manipulate the image a bit. I received the Epson ES-60W portable scanner to evaluate. So far I'm very impressed with the quality and speed of scanning. Setup was pretty easy. Using the Epson Smartscan smartphone app found either on the Apple Store or Google Play it doesn't get much easier. Setup was a breeze on both my laptop and my Android phone. On my laptop I'm using it through USB cable connection but my Android phone is connected via wifi. Using the Epson Smartscan app on my phone scanning is extremely quick. It takes about 5 seconds for a 300dpi color scan of a letter size document. Easy to save the scan and share by email or messaging or you can save to any of the cloud accounts you may have linked to your phone. The most impressive part of this scanner is it's size, weight and rechargable battery. Roughly 10 1/2" wide, 1 1/4" tall and 1 3/4" deep it's the perfect size to through in your backpack or laptop bag. I like devices that can improve my productivity and this is a little gem I plan on using when I'm on the run. Pros: small, lightweight, wifi connectivity, easy to use software and mobile app Cons: none that I can think of.

Happy with this scanner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really happy with this scanner. It is my first portable. I have tested it quite a bit and has not bent or warped anything so far. The quality of the images and scans are good. The only complaint that I have is with the software and it sometimes can be buggy. Otherwise it works like a charm!

Easy Scanning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to use this scanner. It is slim and easily portable. You can charge it and take it with you on the go. I was able to download the app to my phone and connect it directly to my phone with my phones wi-fi. Once I had it set up I could scan receipts and other papers from anywhere. This is a major thing for me and my husband as he has just started his own company. Keeping track of receipts and forms customers have to fill out has just been made easier. We can scan them and e-mail them to the office email to keep track of everything and get everything set up before we make it back. You can use this scanner plugged into the computer or on wi-fi, in or out of the office. It is small enough to fit in our laptop bag without limiting the space for cords and a mouse. The images that it produces are just like a copy machine making a copy. I can read the fine print of a scan as if I had the paper in front of me. Happy with this scanner and excited to have it for use when I need it. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-60W Wireless Portable Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Small but mighty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a work from home person it very important for me to have great tools to speedup my work process. I always need to use scanner for as for my work (create something on paper and scan it to send to somebody) as for my home use - I have two kids and they constantly keep my busy with projects. So. I've got this little fellow - ES-60W as a additional scanner to my all in one machine. That AIO works good but too much of hassle if you need to scan one or two pages. Well, I can say that this ES-60w is small but mighty! Set up was very quick and easy, follow direction from the instruction provided and you will be up and running literally in 5 min. Scanning is great as well - both single page as well as duplex, quick, and with very good quality. This machine for sure will be mine "to go" scanner for next few years! Great for people on the go...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Epson Workforce ES-60W is a relatively handy little tool. Out of the box, it comes with the device itself, USB cable and instructions for use. Upon handling the device, I noticed it was heavier than I first anticipated. In my experience with portable devices, a good weight to a product usually correlates with the quality. However, the plastic felt somewhat cheap and fragile. Considering the scanner has an emphasis on portability with it's design and Blue Tooth capabilities, I expected it's structure to feel more sound in my hand. I'd imagine that if I were to drop it, such as anyone would expect to make an accident in their day-to-day life, it would be detrimental to the product. The USB cable included was custom made to fit in a slot, assuring that it will not come easily unplugged if the cable were to be yanked, or the scanner to be bumped. Upon plugging it into my PC, I followed the instructions included, and began installing the drivers and necessary software. The installation went swimmingly, allowing me to pick and choose different options regarding the roles I wanted my scanner to fulfill. After creating my account and finalizing the installation, I tested the scanner using a gift card. The scanner's software was responsive and quick, and the scanner itself required little help to move the card along and do it's work. It's literally as easy as pressing a button, and viola! The image produced from the scan was of great quality, considering the scale of the device compared to other, more dedicated scanning machines. The quality of the scanner, coupled with the portability that is only fleshed out further by the Blue Tooth and WiFi connection capabilities makes this a very useful tool for a school student on the go. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-60W Wireless Portable Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

NICE, LIGHT-WEIGHT DEVICE!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use scanners nearly every day of my working life, but they're usually a part of a large, all-in-one device (... like on my HP multi-function printer ...). I was pleasantly surprised at how easy to use this light-weight, wireless, portable (hand) scanner was. It was accurate and easily scanned letter-size and small receipt-size documents. I used with my large desktop PC as well as a laptop, and results were consistent. I was surprised upon opening the box at how few items were inside ... but the necessities were there. The scanner was easy to setup and calibrate and ultimately use. The created PDFs were compatible with ADOBE that I use on my computer devices, and I was able to edit the documents in ADOBE and re-save them. Probably the only thing I didn't like was the multi-languages on the box and instructions. It was hard to find ENGLISH vs French & Spanish that were so prevalent everywhere. While I will continue to use my large-scale scanner on my HP AIO, I will keep this small EPSON scanner in my laptop briefcase and take on travels, because I occasionally need to scan signed documents for emailing to vendors while on the road. Its a nice little product that will become a staple for me while traveling!

Wireless makes it so much easier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wanting a wireless scanner the first time I saw one when working on an ambulance. It made documentation so much easier and faster, more convenient. I hated using our table printer 2-in-1 because it took so long for it to scan our documents. The ones you see in the Office stores are nice, but didn't want to be paying for all the documents I needed scanning. I jumped at the opportunity of having a Wireless scanner for my home. The Epson WorkForce ES-60W is a great home office tool. The setup was fairly easy, especially getting it to work off my WiFi. The step-by-step process of setting it up was under 10 minutes. I immediately began scanning my documents into my computer files. The only issue that I found was that the Micro USB cord would not fit into the charging port all the time. The rubber end would get in the way and I had to use some force to get into the slot to plug it in. I didn't want to break it so i ended up using the ones by Insignia because they are thinner at the male end. Overall, I was really pleased at how fast and the quality of my scans. Once you feed the paper (I only used 8.5x11 sheets), the scan immediately popped up on my computer and from there I was able to touch up the document (cropping, lighting, etc). Great little tool. Oh, did I mention it was wireless?!
