ew-60w scanner

EVEN THOUGH I get a message that says scanner is available, when I click on it, it says unable to communicate. Now I am past my returnable period. Guess I throw it away now...

Really FAST, Compact Wireless Scanner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My last scanner was a big old flatbed scanner which was slow when it did work and when it didn’t it gave me incomprehensible error messages. This new Epson portable wireless scanner is tiny and scans full sized documents in less than a third the time of my old one. The setup was incredibly easy. After I charged up its battery with the enclosed USB cord, I downloaded all necessary software and drivers in a single download from the Epson website. Running the software gave me complete, step by step directions on how to set everything up, including connecting the scanner to my wi-fi, which was accomplished quickly without having to type in any passwords at all. The software just asked if it had found the correct wi-fi signal, I indicated “yes”, and it took care of the rest automatically. I didn’t have to type in another thing and I was connected. To scan you just push your document against the rollers and hit the start button. Once set up, if your computer is turned on you don’t even need to have any scanner software open beforehand. The original document flies through the machine, the scanner software opens automatically, and you see your document instantly on your computer screen. You then select the format you wish to save your document in. You can choose from the standard .pdf file, or directly to an email, Dropbox, Microsoft Word and more. It’s cool to see this all happening without a wired connection to your computer at all. I don’t think it could be easier. I was pretty amazed as to the type of originals this little scanner can handle. In addition to your standard documents, it can scan post cards, business cards, envelopes, and even plastic cards. You can also scan receipts and have the software export them directly to QuickBooks. The Workforce ES-60W is compact, it’s only 10 ½ inches long, weighs just ounces and would easily fit into most brief cases. It’s been a while since I’ve looked at scanning devices but wow, has the technology improved and it’s available for under 160 dollars.

Incompatible Software

I spent countless hours repeatedly installing the software and on the phone with Epson Customer Support.

Okay but won't be buying this product again

Dont waste your money

Great Scanner with WiFi capability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my Epson Workforce ES-60W on the day I needed to scan a stack of invoices, and it couldn't have been a better time! Upon opening the box and removing my scanner, I realized just how small and lightweight this unit is! It's small enough to carry in a briefcase or large purse, and light enough for easy portability. That makes life much easier if you need to be on-the-go a lot for work, but still need the ability to get your documents filed. Aside from it's portability, it's very convenient size makes it easy to move around your desk if needed, especially if setup for wifi scanning. This model is usable corded as well as wirelessly, also adding to it's edge of convenience. The scanning is not only high quality and fast, it's also quiet, which I personally really appreciate. I managed to scan my full week's invoices in only minutes with no freezing or any other problems. All my scanned documents transferred to my hard drive clearly and perfectly. The charging is fast, and lasts a full day without having to think about it. There really weren't any negative points for me to touch on, and I have been using this scanner daily since receiving it. I would highly recommend the Epson brand to anyone looking for quality. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-60W Wireless Portable Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Amazing

When I first got the scanner it took 37 minutes to charge the first time. The scanner is very easy to turn on. The first time I went to contact the Wi-Fi to my phone for the first time. I read the instructions I couldn’t find the password. Then if flipped it over and found a part about the password. But the pictures made it look like I was missing a box. I had to read it three times. Then I turned over the scanner and found the password. After that everything else was extremely easy to setup. I downloaded the Epson DocoumentScan from the Google play store. After all of that I love my scanner it works amazing. It scans pages in seconds and I can take it with me no matter where I go. When I scanned a picture of my son I could not believe how amazing it looked on the screen. All of my important papers are all in one place now thanks to this amazing scanner. It is very simple to use. If I forget to turn it of the scanner shuts off on it’s own. I would recommend this scanner to everyone that I now. This is a review for the Epson Workforce ES-60W Wireless Portable Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do beta test and review.

Doesn't work with Microsoft.

However, I do know that it's not compatible with my Microsoft Surface while running in the recommended "S" mode. In other words Microsoft doesn't offer or accept the software that apparently makes this product so great to use and valuable for scanning documents. I hope this helps a Microsoft user so they don't waste there time.

It's basic, works on Windows 10 not Windows 11

It works if you are scanning in basic documents, size 12 font. The quality comes out like a library photocopier... If you want crystal clear images with smaller fonts and straight edges then go with a flatbed. I only needed it for basic purposes but I wouldn't use this for more detailed images with charts and graphs or smaller fonts.

Good Scanner

I can easily throw it in my laptop backpack without much weight or bulk. I also wanted to note that this is a single side scanning device. It does not have duplex capability. It's also fast at scanning. There are some things I wasn't too fund of... Quick start guide a bit confusing - Home WiFi connection method doesn’t always work. - Direct WiFi seems to work better. - Epson DocumentScan app for both Android & iOS is poor. They both have poor ratings. - Uses micro-USB cable to charge. Can’t use any micro-USB cable due to port being recessed within a small area. Most cables won’t fit through the small opening, therefore you have to carry around the EPSON micro-USB cable to charge. Seems to be a bad design flaw in my opinion. With the exception of those few minor issues, it's a fairly solid device.
