Good Printer for typical copies, not photos

I had the Work Force 4530 for 3 years and loved it, so bought this when I could not find anyone to work on the 4530. I now appreciate the Workforce 4550 as much. The 4550 was much more expensive, but works as good (not sure it is any better). I print about 100 copies a week for our small church. Prior to buying an Epson Workforce, I was spending so much on ink, not now. Plus, the Work force is quick, has 2 sided printing, and wireless. I have never used the fax. It was easy to fill the ink wells, I was afraid of making a mess but no issue. I have not had to refill yet, nor buy more. So do not know if ink will last as long. I wish that the pop-up to check ink level did not pop up every time I print something. (I had just stocked up on ink prior to my old printer going out, and could not find a printer to buy that used that ink. I truly wish - and know they could - they would make most printers from their company take the same ink cartridge or type. I now have over $130 of ink I can never use.)

Bought specifically to save money with ink, it is a new way to do a printer with the ink refillable cartridges attached to the printer. Set up overall was easy, but we are having difficulty with wifi reconnecting as we take our laptops around back and forth between home and business. Not a deal breaker and probably more on our knowledge level, wifi limited signal etc. Just thought I would mention it. Fast, clear printer.

A huge relief not having to worry about running out of ink for years! I also am pleased to be contributing less plastic waste to the environment - actually main reason for purchase. Printing is excellent and the scanner & associated software is well thought out and easier to manage than any other scanner I've had.

As I do a great deal of printing the cost of ink gets out of hand. With this printer, even though you pay more for the printer, I'm not changing out the inks all the time. The quality of the print is outstanding.

I'll start off by saying that this is an expensive printer if you compare it to others with the same features. However, the initial purchase price of a printer is usually only a small part of what you end up spending in the long run. With ink only lasting a few months, and cartridge sets often costing near a hundred dollars, costs can add up in a hurry. It's in this area that the Epson Ecotank printer shines. With its huge tanks that can be refilled with affordable ink quickly, you'll probably spend more on paper than you will on ink. That said, the only issue I've had with ours, and the reason I gave it four stars, is that it frequently won't connect wirelessly to my laptop or phone, and has to be restarted in order to print. Annoying to be sure, but not enough to keep me from recommending it to anyone looking to buy a printer.

I liked my last Epson printer so when needing ink I upgraded to this one. I took a risk on the high price but after now owning it for a month or so there are no regrets. You don't have to align cartridges or worry about ink. We have printed around 500 pages so far and my wife and both love not continually have to mess with alignment and ink or worry about using draft mode or black only. Only thing I wish I could change would be to be able to load a whole pack of paper.

Works great so far. It is nice not having to worry about your ink levels for quite awhile. The printed came with a full set of refills so if they are right I should not have to worry about ink for 1 1/2 to 2 years. Well worth the extra money you put out at the beginning.

Very easy to set up and works great with numerous options. Setup out of the box takes about an hour. Within that hour is filling the printer with ink and letting the printer run it's initial mechanical calibration for initial use for about 20 minutes. The big thing that I haven't done yet and am curious about is if the ink that comes in box with the printer can actually last for as many prints as it claims to. Overall, love the product.

So far I am in love with this printer, I like that the ink does not have to be refilled constantly, it lasts so much longer, and for work I must print all different size labels and the adjustment features on this printer are fantastic, the print comes out clear every time with no smudges so the post office can read it clearly every time. Just a wonderful printer, and prints color pictures beautifully. I am happy with this purchase.

I researched about 30 different printers and I kept coming back to this one. In our experience, most of our printers seem to have issues when we replace the ink cartridge for the 2nd or 3rd time. We are replacing a Brother all-in-one printer that worked perfectly until we replaced the cartridge for the 3rd time. Now it will not recognize the red color. It is brother ink and expensive. Now I have a printer that will not work and ink that is opened and cannot be returned. When I read about the ink tanks on this printer I was intrigued. We finally made the decision to purchase and so far it is perfect. We homeschool our kids and operate a small business and so far we have printed about 1500 sheets. The ink has barely moved and the quality is exceptional. This printer IS expensive, however, if you factor in your ink cartridges it is a great deal. I highly recommend this printer if you want something that is economical, great quality and easy to set up and operate.

Excellent Printer for small office environment. Not as messy as I read in reviews. The cost is a little High but the savings on Ink will pay for itself in 3 months if you do a lot of printing.

Awesome NEW Printer w/2 Yr's of Ink!!!

I was originally looking at the Epson WorkForce 3640 b/c it had awesome reviews everywhere. Then I read on "The WireCutter" that Epson's was coming out w/an incredible new printer w/an amazing concept of NO MORE INK CARTRIDGES!! Say WHAAAAT?!?! I HATED spending a small fortune on ink cartridges all the time, so I had to check it out immediately. Now, it is a brand new line of printer, but I'm banking on the impressive record/reputation of Epson & praying ti will live up to all of the 'hype'/promises... I will come back & rewrite my review if I'm wrong & something happens to change my mind. Otherwise, I can't wait to get printing & stop worrying about that a cartridge might dry out or stop working even though the printer says it's not empty...

Overpriced Printer - Save your money

I purchased this to cut down on the cost of replacement ink/toner. It was on sale and offered another $50 for a trade-in. IT WAS STILL TOO EXPENSIVE. In comparison to the much less expensive HP printer that I replaced, it does not have a USB port, the speed of printing is slow, and the paper tray is too small. I was not happy with the quality of the color photo that I printed on photo paper. There was no hardcopy manual included in the purchase (you have to view this online). The quick setup (paperwork included) was "not so quick" because I have a Mac computer and had to call for assistance with the download (instead of using the CD that was provided). The call was routed to Manilla. Myra was pretty good until she cut me off, then I spoke to Thurston/Rico. The call lasted over an hour. To be honest, I am not a whiz with computer/printer installation, but my HP was much easier.

This is great for a family that does a lot of printing. Initial setup is easy and quality is good. I feel it is a little overpriced for what it does, but if it save us money each year on ink, it will be worth it.

The Epson does a great job out of the box I printed 2500 pages and theyb came out great. I still have 1/2 tanks on all my colors and 3/4 full on my black. this is so cheap to run,

This is a great printer that uses ecotanks so it saves on the cost of ink. The printer works great, the ink lasts well, and the printer prints fast. The scanner works well (with a Mac). Haven't hooked up the fax feature. Only downsides are that it doesn't have a way to tell if any of the ecotanks of ink are running low, and it would be helpful to have a 2nd paper tray (so that you wouldn't have to change paper in the single tray when printing pictures, and so forth). The onscreen monitor is a little small, but it is a really minor negative. All in all it is a great printer that does the job well and costs less to operate (due to the eco tank ink) then ink cartridge based printers.

I was originally enticed by an add for an HP model that was on sale. Upon getting to the store and comparing it, I decided it was not for me. Based on the treatment that the HP representative gave to me, I quickly tried to distance myself from him. The in store staff was exceptional, and I ended up purchasing this printer and couldn't be happier. I love all the features, as well as the ease of set up. I especially like the ink tanks vs cartridges as the tanks will not dry out like some of the cartridges do. The ink cost alone is well worth the investment. I always look at how much the ink will cost when purchasing a printer, and with this printer it is EXTREMELY economical! It will be quite some time before I will need to purchase any additional ink, as EPSON included so much with the purchase! Very happy consumer here!
