Doing Great So Far For My Small Business!

I have purchased, and used a ton of all in one printers over the last several years, but this is the first time I have put one to use in my small business. Let's discuss how the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 Wireless All-in-One Printer has handled its time with us so far, and how it compares to some of the other printers I have recently tried. First off I would like to say that the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 Wireless All-in-One Printer is a good printer overall. It has many of the features you would expect in an all in one, and it performs them well. Build quality is great. It's as good or better than other printers at this price point. Touchscreen is large enough, and most importantly responsive. Many other printers I have tried have fallen short there. Paper tray is large which is great in the business environment. Setup was easy, but did take some time. I used the included setup cd which had all the optional extra software for scanning, faxing, etc. I chose to install everything. It did take some time. It downloaded drivers, installed the software, at which point it downloaded more drivers, etc. the whole process took 30-45 minutes although some of that may have been my internet quality. Overall I am not too worried about the time it took to set up as this is a one time thing. Further test revealed that all functions performed as expected. Scanning works well, and finishes quickly providing a great digital copy of your materials. Printing is equally quick as claimed by the developer, and provides crisp and clear text and images. This is my only real concern. It states that it is made for high volume workplace printing. It certainly prints quickly. What I am worried about is the use of ink cartridges. I would much prefer to see the use of larger refillable ink tanks or laser jet toner for use in a high volume printing environment. That being said I still give this printer a 5 star rating. I want to judge it on what it is, and not what I think it should be. It does everything it claims to do, and does it well. Time will tell what kind of volume I will get out of the ink tanks. What I can say for now is that all of my work colleagues enjoy using the printer, and I do too. If you need a printer for your SMALL business I would absolutely recommend the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 Wireless All-in-One Printer.

Nice printer but costly ink cartridges

This AIO is fantastic and is a breeze to set up and use but has disconnected from my WiFi several times for no reason but otherwise ok. The adf is good and no jam ups...I even scanned 34 pages with not one hiccup. Very speedy print speed and fabulous color reproduction. The ADF is a real star in its speed scanning ability and accuracy. The touch screen to me is a bit on the smallish size but visually acceptable. The include cartridges are standard and so only expect about 200-300 pages or less depending on your print quality setting. The XL is the best choice from economic standpoint but still expensive per sheet printed. I like the printer but hate the cost of ink cartridges but otherwise a very good moderate price printer that does everything very very well. 4.5 stars.

The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 is my second Epson printer. I also own an ink-tank series and prefer the WF-3820. Epson has made some huge improvements which make the WF-3820 so much better. Starting with the touch screen, it's 100x easier to setup. I have the WF-3820 connected to my WiFi network in a few minutes, even downloading and installing a firmware update before i had even printed a test page. This is the best setup experience ever. Ink comes in 4 separate cartridges. It's a CYMK printer for those who care. Print quality is great and fast. It's worth upgrading or getting a WorkForce series printer because they are designed for higher speed printing which is what you need in an office environment. Scanning works perfectly. Love the Auto Document Feeder (ADF). I scan a lot, so this will make my life easier. Some tips. The WF-3820 comes with a software CD. I don't know about you, but no computer we have has a CD drive. You can download the drivers for free from here. https://epson.com/Support/Printers/All-In-Ones/WorkForce-Series/Epson-WorkForce-WF-3820/s/SPT_C11CJ07201 You can print directly from your iPhone using AirPrint, there's not additional setup required. The WF-3820 does have a Web UI. If you find the IP address of the printer on your network, you can connect to it (no password, you set one up on first use) which lets you adjust some admin settings. I only wish the printer was a little more compact, but it's a trade-off because you are getting ADF, a paper tray that fits 250 sheets, and a few other extras. Overall, incredible value for the price and seriously love the touch screen.

This printer is packed with features for the size. It is very easy to setup and get connected to your wireless network. It prints fast and copies look great. The ink seems like it will last a long time. The paper alignment can be a little picky and it needs to be precise or the paper will jam. The touchscreen is really neat and it holds plenty of paper for large print jobs.

This printer has fit excellently into my family needs for printing, especially in the midst of a lockdown when schoolwork and office work are both being accomplished at home! Some of the benefits I am enjoying about this printer are that it is small enough to fit into a reasonable sized office or computer room, but large enough with plenty of paper capacity and printing speed/efficiency to get the job done well. Dimensions are 16.7” long by 14.9” deep by 9.8” tall. The printer set up, like previous Epson printers I have had, was very easy-- connecting to the Wi-Fi in my house quickly and getting set up on multiple computers and devices no problem. I like that this printer has an ADF copier/scanner/fax feature and a scanner tray you can manually place items on for scanning. The two-sided printing is awesome and honestly that alone cuts down on paper consumption a great deal. The only thing I will be keeping an eye out for is suitable generic ink substitutes as with other Ink cartridge types from Epson, the replacements are very expensive for the 822 or 822XL cartridges. Again, however, it is looking based on current rates of printing and ink levels that these cartridges will last for many, many prints! Overall I am very happy with the upgrade to this printer and what it is offering for a school and work lockdown household!

Been using the WF-3820 for a few days now and I'm very happy with it. Build quality seems to be good. Features are par for the course with printing, scanning, copying & fax all available. for me the big things I look for in a new printer are easy of use (set up and actual use), print quality and connection stability. So far this checks all those boxes. Set up was a breeze. Can't say that about a lot of other printers. Wi-Fi connection is solid. Print and scan quality is excellent. Time will tell how it is on ink usage but I have no reason to think it will bad. I've owned printers from all the major brands and I can honestly say Epson had consistently been the best.

This is my second Workforce printer. In a household of five folks with 4 students (2 high schoolers and 2 college attendees), we have plenty to print. And working from home has not made things any easier. We are utilizing our printers more than ever. The WF-3820 is an all-purpose printer with the ability to fax (for those who might still be doing that), copy, scan to computer, cloud or drive, and also print via email. Set up was relatively easy, with trying to find all the taped points the longest part of getting everything out and set up. Epson tapes this printer up big time to keep things from moving around during transport. The printer comes with a CD containing the software on it, but if you are like me, you may not have a CD-rom on your computers. I made the mistake of Googling the software instead of following the link provided by Epson in their manual, and ended up with only the Epson Connect software. That was perfect for finding the printer and getting my laptop to talk to it, but came with none of the other software packages needed. Realizing my mistake, I read the directions once again and followed the www.epson.com/support link and did the search for the WF-3820. That did the trick, and I was able to get all the software I needed. I had to go to the printer itself and run the wifi setup to get it connected to my router, but that was super simple. In use, the WF-3820 is a dream. Double-sided color printing was fast and the colors were sharp. Double-sided black and whites were even faster, at just a few seconds per double-sided sheet. We have both iPhones and Androids, both were able to print no sweat to the WF-3820. You can scan docs locally using the interface on the printer or you can use the scan software on a computer, place docs in the feeder, and hit scan. I didn't have any lockups, glitches, or other challenges while using the WF-3820 heavily over the last few days. It just worked-something that is my ultimate compliment. It's not a bad photo printer either. We put high-gloss paper in and printed a presentation for my daughter's criminal law class. The prints looked amazing. Over the last 72 hours, we've used the WF-3820 to do everything an all-in-one is expected to do except send a fax the old fashioned way. We've printed at least 200 pages-worth of documents, both color and black and white, both 1 and 2-sided. We've printed from phones, Macs, and PCs. We've also scanned docs onto hard drives, NAS drives, and Google. At no time did we have an issue or have to restart or reboot the printer. We did run out of black ink already, however, as the printer comes with the standard-sized cartridges. We are thinking we'll have to splurge for the XL version when we buy a replacement. Overall, highly recommended!

We've had this printer for a month and no problems. Reason for buying--our HP wasn't reliable. This Epson is not installed to bluetooth, but the HP was. We've found this to be a very fast printer. Also like that we can feed several pages at once for printing or scanning. Often we have a multiple page document and lifting the screen was a problem. It isn't with the Epson. We did have it installed professionally.

Far From Being Economical, But Scans Fast!

I have read reviews based on the constant disconnect of the WIFI signal for the Epson WF-3820. I learned that if the WIFI router is set to "Smart Connect". or something similar, the printer will not maintain a connection. However, in my case, I had to set my WIFI router to where 2G and 5G were displayed. In doing so, this printer connects every time. I hope that Epson addresses this issue. Hopefully by providing a fix in their next firmware update. I have an older Epson WF-3520, and my other router is set to Smart Connect, and the printer connects every time. The huge disappointment was to discover that the "automatic" double-sided printing feature was removed. The WF-3820 does not fit in the class of being economical. Hense the inexpensive price being asked. Epson makes up for the low cost of the printer in printer ink.

Text and graphics are very good for the price. Setup was easy to do connecting to my Linksys mesh network. Print from iPhone, iPad, and windows pcs without issue. Initial cartridges are lasting longer than I expected. I have not printed photos on the unit so can’t speak to that quality.
