    Purchased to replaace a Canon 7020 that used more ink deep cleaning and flushing than it did printing. The canon was bought due to an Epson XP810 that had a preprogrammed end of life error (non resetable page counter) that shut the printer down. I needed a printer to print a repair order and shipping label to send the Canon printer in. I have a trust issue with epson over the xp810. At the time of purchase I couldn't get a Brother J6995, which is what I will be going to after tax season this year.

    Printing was great when it was connected to wi-fi, but hardly ever connected. Moved it around to different spots and it was off and on connection. Also tried scanning and the alignment was off and had no idea how to fix it. Too complicated for me. Need something that is always connected to Internet and hassle free. Might go back to an HP.

    It was inexpensive and works. Sometimes it randomly stops printing mid page. It uses a lot of ink. My local Best Buy doesn’t always have the ink in stock then charge $7.95 for shipping. I’ll go with a different kind of printer next time that includes ink or does an automatic ink service.

    Great work from home printer

    Started working remotely and this printer works great. Little down fall is the ink runs out close to 500 pages being printed and is a little expensive. I do like that I can scan in up to 30 documents at a time.

    Purchased the printer 1 month ago. It is making noises. Geek squad is coming to look into the problem. I Never had a problem with any printer I have had in the past after only one month…and I’ve printed very little.

    It doesn’t feed more than 1 sheet of paper at a time. That is not what I expected. It keeps telling me a firmware needs downloaded and I already know as soon as you do you will not be able to use any other ink than Epson which I disagree with. I am disappointed in the quality of the machine not the printing. It’s hooked up to wi-fi but doesn’t always recognize it and I have to turn it off and then back on. The printers of the past seemed so much better in their packaging.

    Latest firmware update disables the use of non-Eps

    I’ve purchased this printer about 6 months ago and it has been working well. I’ve used both Epson ink cartridges as well as generic cartridges from a 3rd party (about ½ the cost of the Epson cartridges) with good results. However, in March of 2023 Epson pushed out and automatically installed a firmware update to the device that now PREVENTS non-Epson print cartridges from being used. This caused my perfectly working printer to immediately stop working until I purchased and installed a new set of Epson print cartridges and disposed of all the stock of generic cartridges I had previously purchased. This change is particularly troublesome in that Epson provided absolutely NO information on the contents of the firmware update before it was automatically installed. It INTENTIONALLY disables a key feature on which I based my original purchase of the printer – the availability of ink cartridges from multiple sources. After spending several hours on the phone with Epson support yesterday, they also indicated they have consciously decided NOT to provide any way to roll back to the previous version of the firmware. In other words, once the firmware update is installed going forward the printer will ONLY accept Epson print cartridges. Potential customers should be aware of this newly enforced limitation of the printer as well as (in my opinion) the un-professional business practice used by Epson to enforce this change. Given what I know now, I would not recommend purchasing this printer.
