    This has a 1 star rating only because this site forced me to give it at least one star. I would give it zero. This printer has been problematic from the start. Every few months it stops recognizing my Xfinity Modem. This last time I called they claimed it was an Xfinity problem and said they need to enable DHCP on the router - which has never been enabled on the route since I've had it so Epson clearly changed something in their update to cause the issue. Just like they did when set it up so that you are forced to use only Epson ink.

    Do not buy! Nothing but problems, Does not connect to computer most of the time. Decides when it wants to scan and when it doesnt. So frustrating.

    Printer OK Epson Brand Not So Much

    Printer has nice features but black does not print black, more of a dark gray shade and this was with the original black ink cartridge. I purchased on Amazon an OEM ink cartridge kit, 2 black and 3 color a while back. I checked and double checked that they were Epson cartridges. They were installed and have been working fine for months. A few days ago, there was a firmware update, I installed the update, halfway through I got a maintenance error message, "cannot recognize ink cartridge" and after that I cannot print anything, it is stuck on the error message screen. I talked to Epson; their conclusion was that the ink cartridge were not Epson. The above is why I gave the printer 1 star; I have owned many brands of printers over the years and have never ran into any printer manufacturer that shuts the printer down because the ink cartridges were not there brand of ink cartridges. I didn't know I was buying 3rd party ink cartridges and I've reported the seller to Amazon, but that's not the point. As long as third-party ink cartridges are made to work with a particular printer, and the ones I purchased did work with the printer, I should be able to use any ink cartridge I want third party or otherwise...

    Scanner jams a lot!

    The auto-feeding scanner is very prone to jamming, especially if you're trying to scan a stack of papers that was previously stapled together (obviously staples removed prior to scanning). To remedy this, I flipped the stack and scanned it upside-down (the un-stapled side), then flipped it right-side up using its built-in editing tool. But it's still a hassle to do. I will be looking for a new all-in-one printer and returning this to Best Buy within the return window. My previous all-in-one was an HP OfficeJet 6600 (lasted exactly 10 years before the printer head malfunctioned) so I might stick with HP.
