It has a touch screen and and various settings to mess with. I wish it had three simple functions- print, scan, and copy. I don’t need bells and whistles. There are frequent error codes that I need to google and it’s hard to find answers. Cleaning the printer heads or pads by hand seemed like a process that I would mess up and destroy the printer completely. I “clean print heads” frequently by selecting the automatic process but it’s atill messy and sometimes smeary. The options for print quality and other preferences are different between my Mac and HP so printing quality and abilities (like double-sided!) differ for each one. It frequently grabs too many pieces of paper, prints a fraction of a page on ten different pieces, and then jams. I’ve used several different types of paper thinking I might be using cheapo paper causing the paper feed to fail. The price of ink is exorbitant- $100 to replace black and color. You can print a little bit with the black if you choose grey-scale printing in a hidden setting on Mac but either way the printing looks terrible, even for black and white Word documents, when the color ink is low. (?) I bought this after looking at many reviews and I’m so tired of unreliable poor quality printers. This thing is a huge block that takes of a lot of space but “the bigger the better” isn’t true in this case. *SIGH* look elsewhere for your printer- you can find something less glitchy and scratchy, I’m sure. I’m off to research again. I may have to invest in an office printer and just give up a nightstand or a closet and have a printer maintenance professional visit once a week. (I’m kidding but only half-kidding)

Excellent device. Lots of capability but very user-friendly and small footprint on my desk for everything it can do. It is well made and, as the Best Buy rep warned me, came so securely packaged from the factory that you could use the styrofoam to float a boat. No nasty surprises upon unpacking it. Epson makes great printers!

Good printer. Fast and easy to install. Saves ink.

The printer works very good and produces great pictures.

After a few months and less than 50 times of printing, the printed documents and pictures showed horizontal streaks and lines. I performed troubleshooting several times and it didn't work. Epson call center told me to replace the initial ink with the new ones and I did. I put a brand new set of inks in that cost me approx. $100/set. I performed several head cleaning again and it didn't work. As Print head cleaning consumes LOTS of ink, all my brand new inks became LOW within 8 head cleaning and nozzle checks. Besides, there has been no improvement at all. After an hour on the call with their technician, they finally accepted that it could be the hardware issue. As my printer is still in the warranty, I will need to ship this back. However, they will need to hold $179.99 from my credit card with the condition that.... after I get the package from FedEx, if I don't ship back within 7 days, my card will be charged for $179.99!!! This is a super ridiculous and irresponsible customer service policy, I bought this printer... I need to use this printer for my work but I can't as it cannot produce standard quality printing.... I need to waste my time shipping this back to Epson.... and I have to let them hold the $$$ to guarantee that I will ship it back. This will be my last time to buy Epson Products.
