No, I would not recommend this to a friend**NO** duplex scanning/copying for the 4820!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.**THE 4820 DOES NOT DO DUPLEX SCANNING OR COPYING!** The specifications section indicates that this device performs duplex scanning; it does not! It also does NOT do duplex copying. It's a perfectly acceptable all-in-one, as long as duplex functions are not important to you. However, the Best Buy description and the user manual are misleading. NOTE: the online user manual is for*both* the 4820 *and* 4830 models...and it doesn't always specify to which model the directions pertain. I had specifically looked up the duplex capability in the manual before I purchased the device; it indicated that it could do it -- but it turns out that was only for the 4830 model. I hope this information helps anyone else trying to get an accurate understanding of this device's capabilities.
