Not So Happy Long Term Customer

That is not true, you must do it manually. We bought this printer to use for ADF two sided scanning and it will not perform as advertised. We contacted both Best Buy and Epson and they apologized but cannot do anything to correct the problem and will not allow us to send it back for credit and purchase the WF-4830 to get the features we thought we were getting on the WF-4820.

WiFi connectivity not good

Epson printer for me

Seemed to work great during set up but kept giving an error message that there was no paper. Asked me to load but there was paper in device. Very cheaply made compared to my last printer that lasted over ten years. Very disappointed.

Worst printer I have ever bought

There are several "versions" of the same unit with different names in the device manager (Epson 4820, Epson 4820 series, Epson 4820 Fax, EpsonE2B793). Printer drivers won't install. Ink cartridges are very difficult to remove and insert. Paper tray sticks, cheap plastic. No matter how much you fan the paper before inserting into the tray, multiple blank sheets or partially printed sheets come through the printer. Control Panel is annoying and you have to close each window manually. I cannot get the WiFi to work. Scanner functions are confusing and only work on certain of the "named" versions. Legal paper is the scan default and grayed out, you need to "Preview" the page before scanning to change the paper size. ScanSmart doesn't work with automatic document feeder; it only scans one page at a time and it's a clumsy, multi-screen process. Epson Support page and user manual are worthless.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER

However, this has turned out to be the worst printer I have ever owned. The user interface is horrible and not user friendly at all. The printer does double side print and scan but it does not double side copy. Uses a tremendous amount of ink and always misfeeds or jams when scanning documents. I will NEVER buy Epson again.

Not recommended

It literally sits 3 feet from my wifi router. Yet, it struggles to print wirelessly. Often, it takes about 5 minutes for it to print a page, if it prints it at all. I sometimes have to turn it off and back on again for it to connect. (And do a few other things to it.) I have had to talk to Epson Tech support twice (they are nice and helpful). The first time was to get it set up wirelessly and today was for them to tell me how to get it to work using a cord to connect it to my laptop. Come on! It's 2023! First, it shouldn't need a cord and Second, it shouldn't require tech support to get it to work!

Not a very reliable printer

I’ve had other Epson printers, and they were much better. This is one of the worst printers I’ve ever had to deal with would not recommend it at all.

This thing has caused more headaches than printed/scanned documents. Ok if you're on a budget.
