Great Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ease of installing was pleasantly surprising. The printer does everything expected with speed and does it flawlessly. It replaced an unreliable HP Inkjet 6500. A good compliment to my wireless network.

Really the best bang for the buck.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Epson WF 3640 is very simple to get setup and your wireless connected. Epsons CD ROM makes everything go smoothly, and supports Win7-8-10-Vista also the older XP. With little effort you will be printing and scanning, printer is really quite and is fast in printing, print is very clear. Epson also has online videos at support, if you need more help in setting up printer. This new Epson printer is replacing my old HP, that was a major pain to get setup, the Epson is a real step forward over HP.

Good printer but there's a catch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you'd like to reboot your computer and printer before you scan a document once a week, by all means, get one. The printer is hardwired to my computer, yet it has been a constant thing since I bought it. Other purchasers have mentioned Epson's horrible customer support and they are exactly right! After going through this most of the last year, I finally broke down and called them to find a solution to the problem. The rep that I talked to sounded like he had me on speakerphone in a crowded daycare. Compound that with his horrible attitude and his super technical solution of rebooting everything (same thing I had been doing on a weekly basis), I've made the determination that I will never buy another one and I highly doubt I will keep this one until it dies. Don't even get me started on how hard it's been to keep a wireless connection to this thing. If you can get past all that, it prints great. It actually uses much less ink than my last HP did. Could it be a problem with my PC? Sure, but the problem never presented itself with my HP all-in-one. I'm an IT guy and I keep my computer well-maintained because I also use it for work. Either way, I won't buy another Epson product simply because of their customer service.

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my HP with the Epson WF 3640 several weeks ago and began regretting it almost immediately. At first, I thought it was just a matter of getting used to a different user interface. Then I realized that the control panel was unnecessarily complicated. Among other things, you need to go through multiple steps just to replace ink cartridges -- which you'll be doing quite a bit of since they don't last any time at all. And good luck finding them since the major office supply stores can't manage to keep enough in stock (perhaps because the ink runs out so quickly). When I finally bought a replacement cartridge online, it lasted through about 10 pages before running out (the supplier assumed it was defective and replaced it). The "second" paper tray doesn't work. And now that I have spent $70 on 2 of the 3 additional cartridges that are low, the printer has taken itself offline and is not working. At this point I am seriously considering just trashing it and writing off the $140 as money wasted on a failed experiment, It is the absolute worst piece of electronic equipment I have ever owned.

Waiting on 2nd replacement (3rd total)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will say that this printer was great for 5 months and then came error code 0X9D and everything went down hill. Ended up being a hardware issue and after spending 2 hours and talking to 3 different people I had another one (refurbished mind you) shipped to me from Epson due to warranty. Received the replacement on May 29 and on June 10 I received the same error code on this unit. I am now waiting on the 3rd one (( after more numerous long phone calls with various individuals )) and the individual I talked to at the end reluctantly agreed they are having trouble with these and their hardware issues so please be weary. I do love the performance when it works but due to the reliability of this particular WF-3640, I will probably never buy another Epson printer. Just my 2 cents worth and wanted to pass it on. Good luck and God bless

It actually works on Wi-Fi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought several printers over the years that were under $100 and after having bad experiences with all of them I finally decided to shell out a little more money for this model, it works great with all of the Mac's we have in our house and will even wirelessly scan documents, we don't even print that often but to be able to scan things wirelessly without the printer having to be setup every single time is amazing to us.

Great Printer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice printer with great features. I love the ability to print double sided with no difficulty. I only wish that Best Buy sold the high capacity ink (XL) to go with this.

Returning 2nd printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the printer, but it starting smearing the print. I use the maintenance program and clean everything, gives me 1 good copy and then it goes back again to lines down my copy. Also, it seems that even though I buy the extra print cartridges, the ink is used up much faster than before. Good thing I purchased the warranty. This is my second printer which I had about 1 1/2 years.

Solid basic printer for home or small office
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this printer for almost two years and have no complaints. I didn't and don't expect it to produce laser quality but for basic office printing, it's been very reliable and a very good deal for the price. I don't use fax or scanning often, but both have been very good when needed. Ink use is as reasonable as I've seen with an ink-jet type printer.

Some Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer because I've always liked Epson but there were isues like not recognizing the computer through the network hook-up even though the right printer was chosen. I ended up having to call customer service and they made some changes through remote access and its been fine since. I became frustrated with it not performing as it should have.

Very fast wireless printing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced an HP all-in-one printer with this Epson. I haven't had to buy ink yet (still using starter ink), but so far I love this printer. It was easy to set up. The touchscreen is very intuitive. The wireless printing is very fast from any of our devices. The performance is better than any printer I've ever had.

Drinks Ink like crazy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always owned HP printers and decided to buy an Epson this time. BIG MISTAKE ON THIS PRINTER! I just replaced the ink exactly one month ago *the black was an XL cartridge. In two drawers of paper I have gone through all of my C & M ink and half way through the B & Y and yet I have mostly printed black items. If I print an image and don't set it on the highest level of quality I get lines through the page and very faded. I haven't used the highest except to experiment. Needless to say Best Buy will be getting this one back this week!

Epson shake-down
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a wf-3640 and tried to connect it to my Samsung Tab4. I had problems and called their 866-925-4874 support line. They immediately told me that I would have to pay $250 to have one of their technicians take care of the problem for me. I was shocked that they couldn't walk me through the process. I spoke to a supervisor and he told me the same thing. I told him that I paid $110 for the printer and that to pay an additional $250 for asking for help to set it up; is call a shake-down. He told me "Take it or leave it, it doesn't matter to me". I will be returning the printer.
