Same as the radar detector it attaches to overpriced nothing special but on average it’s about $75 more then most dash cameras I have a Nexar camera that works better then this and I got it for $59

I've never owned a dashcam before and figured I may as well have one that works with my new radar detector. I received this paired with my Escort iXc and it is touted as working in concert with the device, but really that is in name only. To start, the device is slim and easily mounts to the suction cup mount included with the Escort iXc (and I imagine most other recent Escort suction cup magnet mounts). You plug in the power to the M1 then the M1 to the iXc and away you go. I've since replaced the suction cup mount for my iXc with a rearview mount which leaves my M1 with no place to mount at all. The bracket that comes with it offers nearly no articulation and is very specific to the Escort suction cup so I'm still trying to come up with a way to use the M1 without the escort suction cup mount. To say these are paired is really an overgenerous statement, as the M1 uses the mount point on the iXc's suction cup mount and gets power from the Escort's power supply, but everything else is separate. The app to control the device is even separate, which is unfortunate. As a dashcam, it does everything you'd expect it to do and even includes a (smallish) 16GB SDcard for saving video. The video quality is good and it is really mostly headache free in terms of getting rolling with it, it's just vastly unfortunate that Escort didn't choose to capitalize on the fact that it now has a camera with its radar detectors and include some additional features (or at the very least merge the apps together). All in all it feels like an afterthought and mostly unrealized potential. That doesn't make it a bad dashcam, it just doesn't really make it great either. I would get it simply if I were short on power and had no other dashcam options of similar quality. That said, I think it's overpriced.

So great concept to be able to mount with my Escort Max360c and use the same power that hardwired into my car but the camera does not want to connect to my iPhone 11 Pro on Tmobile to view live stream or pull video files. According to Escort, it's because Tmobile uses IPv6 protocols and the work around is to connect to the M1 wifi network and turn airplane mode on for everything else. Cool...so I need to disconnect my phone from cellular and bluetooth if I want to be able to connect pull the video feed from my camera? Bluetooth handsfree for calls/texts/music completely more important than the camera. Known issue since beginning of 2019 and now resolution still except it's because Tmobile upgraded to IPv6 standards.

Does the job. Nice integration with Escort products to reduce cables and mounts.

Keep lost connection WiFi between radar units and the app on the phone.

Unit seems to be well built and for me the 1080P video and audio was exceptionally clear. Even night recording was very impressive. I recommend as this would be a very useful item to have for documenting any driving situation you may encounter or happen to witness. A couple of pre-purchase caveats; Be aware if you plan to pair with detector - this unit is compatible with some but not all Escort radar units. I have this attached to an iXc unit, so check yours before purchase Only records video directly in front of it, no video within the car but it does record audio. In the box the M1 dash cam 16GB micro-sd card short power connector to plug into detector longer bolt for the windshield mount so you can attach the dash cam Quick start guide. I found it pretty simple to setup and use. Setup; Setup was easy enough – just follow instructions to change bolt and attach power cords – was ready in a few minutes. Downloading app to my smartphone was straightforward. The app allows you access to several settings including changing recording time (default is 1 minute), and sound on/off. The dash cam has its own wi-fi so connecting phone to dash cam is done by selecting “escort M1” network and using default password. Use; I had a 256GB micro-sd card lying around so replaced the 16GB. App asked to format it (FAT32) and after a minute was ready to go. I changed recording time from 1 minute to 5. There is an LED light at the back of the unit indicating whether it is recording with wi-fi (flashing green and immediately accessible to your cellphone if connected)), recording with wi-fi off (flashing red), emergency recording (flashing red/green) and error (solid red). Wi-fi on/off button is on top of unit. Power/Emergency recording button on back of unit as well as camera reset Normally starts recording as soon as car is started. I was surprised how clear the video and audio were. You access the videos using your phone and can easily scroll thru videos by date/time. When you reach the max storage capacity of SD card the dash cam will start recording over the earliest recording(s) – so you have a loop. If you happen to have the dash cam off it has a G sensor that is supposed to start recording automatically in case of an accident/very sudden stop. I am happy to say I was not able to test this particular feature. Has USB connector (no cord supplied) to download videos. But if you have a Microsoft computer with micro-sd (or micro to SD convertor card) input slot I found it easier to just pop out the micro-sd card and review the videos on the computer. Files are recorded in .mov format. No real negatives but do have a couple of concerns; The video is just a tad fish eye, but does have wide view. I did not see anywhere to change the default password so am concerned anyone could access dash cam videos since all dash cams would have same network/password. I guess you can always turn the wi-fi on/off, as long as you don’t forget. States it has been tested for extreme heat and hope this is the case since I live in Arizona. It seems this unit is being marketed as an addition to Escort radar detector(s), but I think it could be used as a standalone. You would need to add a power cord and a windshield mount though when ordering.

Tried two of these and both had the same issue where they didn't even correctly power on, nor could be found on a PC to do a firmware update to them, respond to a reset or other fixes suggested. Very disappointed in this poor quality which isn't to Escort's standards.
