First, Best Buy was unable to figure out how to price match its own lower price after the purchase (the detector went on sale for $50 cheaper). That alone warranted a return. Then on two separate occasions I drove through Florida Highway Patrol speedtraps in Micanopy FL where I could clearly see the trooper aiming the radar or laser gun. Not a peep from the detector both times. At this price point and with Escort's reputation, the detector should have worked.

Range on this detector is not nearly as I Pressure as early Password Detectors, and they should be embarrassed to sell this. The Uniden R3 is absolutely superior to this detector and doesn’t give out a bunch of false alarms like this one does. Do yourself a favor, save some money, but the R3. The only reason I didn’t give it one star is because of the Arrows that point you in the direction of the threat, and the functionality of Escort Live.

I called the factory and they said they have had many complaints and they were working to try resolve the problem. I returned it and bought a different model.

It works pretty well and seems somewhat accurate, but the paired app from Escort definitely needs some improvements. Once you pair it via Bluetooth, the accuracy of the information displayed through the app is not good. Speed limits are off and your current speed sometimes displays on the app, mostly it doesn't. Overall, not a good experience that I would recommend or pay the high cost for. Until they update the dated looking app to be more accurate, don't buy.

Plus its note work a $4.99 as month plan to have the live escort app running. After paying $600.00 for a detector you would think the online app is free.. in my opinion it's not worth it.
