Do not buy if your car has a self-driving feature
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This does not function well in vehicles with self-driving controls as the vehicle "radar" gives constant false alarms. Works great in my other vehicles but the Chevy Traverse is a no go.

Great Radar Detector! Bad Smart App link.

If definitely kept me out of trouble. Unfortunately, if you plan in using Escort's full capabilities, the combo of the radar detector and the smart-phone App leave a lot to be desired. They contantly lose communication with each other. After each lengthy stretch of driving during a recent road trip, I had to constantly keep removing and re-adding the Escort Max back into the App as a recognized device. I ended up returning this item do to this inconvenience.

Not bad but could be better

My go to was the r7. Now i had the older escort 360 and liked it because of its features. they sold me on the wifi part making way easier to update. The uniden r7 was a pain to update but far as its response time, it was way better. I ended going back to escort because of its features. The response time on this is way better than the the older 360. Only bad thing incan say about it is the Bluetooth sucks on this. It keeps cutting in and out. Now if you’re trying to use it for the Bluetooth features then look for something else. Would i recommend this radar? No and yes. If you want it for the features, yes. If you want it for response time and distance, no. The uniden r8 is way better. But lacks the features of thr escort.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This would be a good detector for small town driving if your maybe cruzing 5 over bet lets be honest you but a radar detector your not only doing 5 over this is the slowest detector i have ever used it takes such a long time to detect the frequencies that im already getting hit by a radar when it goes off and the arrows are like 5 seconds delayed my uniden r4 would run circles around this and i just cant recommend it to anyone for the price

Posted .Thank you for your review. A common reason for not detecting an officer is that the officer does not have his equipment actively transmitting. Many radar devices are in standby mode, where they are not emitting a frequency. In this case, there is no signal for the detector to pick up and alert to. Rest assured, if the officer is using radar, you will get an alert. The good news is, of course, if the officer is not transmitting, your speed cannot be captured. I use to have an escort x60 and that was a great radar. This one takes awhile to get use to it, it silences most alarms that you want to hear.

Configuration is confusing and the mobile application is not at all friendly. I believe it is overrated and overpriced. It went back!

One of the tickets, the detector never even made sound. The other he had just pulled inand started shooting radar as I came over the hill. These are all expensive tickets. Lets see how good their guarantee is.
