This radar detector is easy to install and easy to operate. It's basically plug and play but all the settings can be adjusted for personal preference either on the device or through the app. It's nice looking and ruggedly constructed. It mounts by a suction cup that is easily affixed to the windshield and holds it securely. The power connecter plugs into the cars 12v receptable. The display is a four-color OLED. It detects and gives voice and visual alerts to X, K, and Ka radar bands, and laser and red-light cameras. One of my favorite features is that along with a voice alert the unit flashes colored arrows showing the direction where the radar was detected. It also displays distance when approaching a red-light camera. Unlike some other units that warn of a red-light camera when approaching from any direction, this one only shows a red-light camera when you're approaching from the direction being monitored. It also auto learns and mutes false alerts. A feature that I thought I would really like, speed limit display and adjustable over speed limit warning, are app dependent and somewhat disappointing. The app, Drive Smarter, is easy to set up and connect to the radar detector but it has spotty and inconsistent coverage of speed limits. Sometimes driving on the same road, one day it would give the speed limit and on another day it would not. On another road it displayed a different speed limit in each direction (the posted speed limit is the same in both directions). It covers most major roads but in my major metropolitan area there are many roads where it doesn't display the speed limit. There are other driving GPS apps that do show the speed limit on those same roads. For what this radar detector costs, its app and the info it provides should be comprehensive and flawless. When it worked it was nice because I set the alert for 5 MPH over limit and if I exceeded the limit by more than 5 MPH it would give a voice alert and change the vehicle speed display to red. The over speed alert can be set from 5 to 25 MPH over the limit. This is a very nice radar detector that except as noted functions very well, but it has a hefty price tag. There are other radar detectors that will do the job for less, but if you have the bucks to burn and don't mind not having it display speed limits on lesser roads, you'll probably be happy with this unit.

Reviewing the Escort Max 360C MK11. To be fair I'm still in the learning mode with the detector as the unit did not come with a users manual in the box. The quick start guide which did come with the unit suggested going to the website and search there for the manual. Using the Escort website I found there is no manual for a MAX360C MK11. There's a similar model but not the exact model so that leaves me wondering if I have all the correct info for getting the most out of the detector. The quick start guide also suggests downloading & connecting to an app called Drive Smarter. I did try to do this, but got a message that the app was not compatible with our device. I have a Galaxy S7, which might be the problem as it is an older cell phone, so we could not download the most up to date version of the program. Again, I found a similar older app, but again I'm left wondering if I'm getting the full benefits from the detector. I'm using this unit to replace my old Escort X50 Passport 8500 unit. That unit was pretty much what I call plug n play. Simply plug it in drive. You really only had to decide if you wanted city mode or highway mode. The new unit (Escort Max 360) gives you the option if you so desire to customize the bands of radar it senses ( 15 options) as well as four color display choices & three warning tone choices. You can also have voice announcements if you desire. Simply put, if you're a rocket scientist you'll love this unit's ability to be personalized. If you like things simple, like me, you'll be thankful that there's a novice mode which are the default factory settings right out of the box. To date the differences between my old unit & this new unit is there's way less false alarms. I think the screen on the old unit was easier to see in bright daylight conditions. As far as warning time & distance from radar when the detector goes off, it's hard to see a difference. I think for me the biggest plus is the dramatic drop in false alarms. I'm learning & getting more comfortable with the unit each time I drive. I'm sure as time goes by I'll learn more about the features & how to utilize them. I gave only 4 stars instead of a 5 is because it's kinda pricey and the difficulty with the website & app.

MAX 360c MKII should deliver outstanding performance. Note that in Auto SEN mode it will decrease X and K detection range according to your speed. Lower range at lower speeds and full range at 50 mph. For further assistance, contact us at 800-543-1608 M-F 9:00AM-5PM EST. Live Chat is available 10:00 AM-4:45 PM Eastern Time M-F. Escort has been making radar & laser detectors for a long time. They are certainly experienced in the domain of radar & laser detection. The Escort Max 360c MKII provides the next generation of Escort technology. Escort claims 50% improved range, fast performance, and a smarter device that remembers non-relevant signals and mutes them to provide a “quieter ride”. As someone that’s owned radar detectors in the past, the most annoying thing is picking up useless signals and having the detector beeping like crazy. The Escort Max 360c MKII certainly does a better job at reducing the frequency of non-important beeps. Its not perfect, but its 100% better than other detectors I’ve had. I imagine over the course of a few months this will improve even more as the detector gathers more information. As far as picking up important signals this device does just as good or better than any I’ve owned before. My tests have been in urban environments where there are lots of mixed signals and objects to make detections difficult, and on highways where there is much more open space for detection. In all scenarios the Escort Max 360c MKII does an excellent job of its number one job, detect relevant signals. So, if you’re wondering whether this product will help you detect signals from a competent distance on a consistent basis, then the answer is yes. In conclusion, the Escort Max 360c MKII is a great product. It does its core job excellently and offers some extra features that make it that much better to live with day in day out on the road. The detector also features an app for both Android and iOS. In my experience the app has been ok. I used it a bit initially and haven’t opened it back up since. That’s a good thing. I don’t want another technology product I need to baby sit in apps messing with it all the time. You can just plug this thing in, set it up, and never mess with it again. I highly recommend the Escort Max 360c MKII especially for all its additional features that make it nice to live with.

The software in these detectors continues to evolve, and this particular model stays at the front of the pack. It includes basic conveniences like including a USB charging port in the base that plugs into your 12v charging socket in the car, so you don't lose the ability to use that socket as a charging port for other electronics. It's also sophisticated enough to communicate with your phone over bluetooth and pull in the posted speed limit for whatever road you happen to be on at the time. Using that phone connection and its built-in GPS, it can give a constant readout of your actual speed right next to the posted speed limit. You can also use the smartphone app to tailor the settings of the radar detector to give you an alert if you exceed the posted limit by a certain amount (in 5pmh increments, including zero, but if you set it at zero why did you buy a radar detector?). You can also set an alert for an overall top speed that you don't want to exceed. You can even change the color of the display if you want it to more closely match the color scheme of your dashboard instruments. Besides all the fancy features, it does seem to work just fine at picking up radar too. It is a bit on the large side, at least compared to my older detectors. The mount is modern and sturdy, and the detector is easy to get on and off the mount with its magnetic clip if you don't want to leave it hanging in plain view when you're not driving.

I haven’t used a radar detector in many years. I typically drive a bit above the speed limit so really haven’t had the need. However as a bit of added protection I was happy to give this device a try. It’s very easy to set up and get going. It has a nice carrying bag as well as a windshield mount and a long enough power cable. The size is low profile as well. I tried the detector in both urban as well as on the freeway. In urban setting it did a great job of earning while not being too sensitive. I was alerted to both radar and laser (one time). On the open road the sensativity was very good and alerted me well before I came upon the trooper. The laser detection worked great. Also, the ability for multi directional scanning really helped to let me know a possible direction of the signal. The ability for the device to show current speed limit was nice as well. Overall I was very impressed with the functionality of this device. While it is a bit on the expensive side, I think it is really worth the investment for a little piece of mind.

For the cost of ownership, I had high expectations for the Escort Max 360c MKII. And it has not disappointed. Loaded with features not found in other radar detectors, the 360C MKII has great 360 degree range, fast lock on, and seems to filter out false signals, including IVTs, well. Before going any further, we should talk about the app, which is required for things like updates, and downloading the database for the location of speed traps and cameras. The app isn't stellar. While my expectations for the 360C MKII were high, it was not so for the app. Its issues are well-documented. I first tried the new app (Drive Smarter) and couldn't get it to connect to the radar detector. I'm an IT administrator and I pride myself on understanding technology, but after struggling with it for a while, I called tech support. The tech told me to use the old app (Escort Live). It worked so that's what I'm now using. So, I compared the Max 360C MKII side-by-side to another highly rated model from a different company. I was impressed that the range was better, and it filtered false signals better. I haven't used the 360C MKII long enough yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how well the Autolearn Intelligence feature works to filter out false positives over time. The cost is high. But if you demand the best and like the added benefit of shared network alerts, the Max 360C MKII is worth every penny.

I have the older escort max 360 and still works wgich i sure the 360c works even better. But theres no ither radar detector out there that can out perform a radar detector with an invisible shield. So even tho your radar detector can detect police radar or laser what is having detection if they can still see your speeds

This is my first radar detector, so I do not have anything to compare this unit against, however, this unit seems to work well overall. I have used this in two separate vehicles in two different types of environments. First, I tried this in my daily driver in the suburbs/city. While it does pick up speed traps, I have found that I get a lot of false positives as well. I also use this device in my weekend truck for road trips. This is where the Max 360c shines. On the open road in rural environments, it works very well. The now resides in my weekend truck for the long/fast stretches of road. Recommended if you're looking for a high end radar detector!

    Worthy of Five-Stars!!

Other than downloading the accompanying app, the Cedar Electronics Escort Max 360c is truly a plug-n-play device. Once you plug it in, it is ready to use. That in itself makes this a Five-Star product. But it doesn't stop there. Out of the box, the Quick Start guide goes through what each of the control buttons do, and how to mount the window base to hold the unit. The intuitive drawings are extremely easy to understand. The most "difficult" aspect of the installation is downloading and installing the app. It is seriously that easy. This was my first radar detector so I had no idea what to expect. I decided it was a good time to do some online research to help me understand the basics of use. I learned there are three main types of radar, K-Band, Ka-Band, and X-Band. A bit of reading later and I felt like my level of proficiency had grown enough to move on to the other aspects of how this unit operated. As I drove to work the next day, sure enough I encountered K-Band radar a few yards down the road. The unit alerted using an electronic signal, and then designated which radar band it had encountered. This happened many times during my 20-mile drive. At one point, as I entered a small town, the Ka-Band went off, and right up the road I saw the officer sitting in his car running his radar. One thing I discovered as I researched the Escort is that it "remembers" the locations in which a "false" radar signal is detected using the onboard GPS. If the same band is encountered at the same location multiple times, the location is stored in memory and will no longer alert to the false signal. By the third day, my commute to work was much, much quieter as the number of hits was drastically reduced. Again, through research, I discovered that there are many vehicles on the road today that utilize radar to detect traffic around them as part of their vehicle safety protocols. Vehicles using lane-change hazard warnings, or to detect slowing or stopped vehicles ahead all use radar. Now this might sound like there would be a lot of hits, and there are. But the signals from these devices cause only a very brief warning, and then it is gone. The real radar hits from law enforcement radar produce a long warning signal along with the voice prompts from the unit itself. After a while I learned how to distinguish just from the sound whether it was a genuine radar, or simply a rogue signal. The Escort Max 360c is extremely well-built. It feels quite substantive in the hands, and quite rugged. It is designed so that all the controls are easy to access even when the unit is mounted to the windshield. A wonderful feature is that each user can add input to the "community" to alert other drivers that active radar is in use at certain locations. The device itself will warn you if other drivers have shared data to the network. This is a great time to mention the app again. The DriveSmarter app provides a wealth of information and interactive tools. You can use the app to report speed traps, accidents and other events that will become available for other drivers using the app. You can also control the unit from the app which keeps you from having to fumble with any of the controls while you are driving. I, myself, have only one complaint, and that is this... If you happen to already own a device, such as a dash-cam, that utilizes the vehicle's 12-volt power outlet (and it is the only one you have in the front) then you will not be able to use the Escort unless you run the power cord to the rear of the vehicle's 12-volt plug-in. I don't know what they could have done differently, but this isn't a set-up I want to use for very long. I guess a call to my dash-cam customer service will be needed to see if I can use the USB power supply instead. Other than that, I have zero issues or complaints about the Cedar Electronics Escort Max 360c radar detector, and I would (and WILL) recommend it highly to my friends and family!

Although Im not a speed demon by any means Ive gotten my fair share of tickets. But that is a thing of the past. The Escort radar detector is another one of those things you dont think you need until you do. In the box you get the MAX 360 radar and laser detector, power cord, case, manual, and the mount. Mounting is universal and will work with basically any car. The device itself is built very solid which is great because it will eventually be dropped taking it out and putting it back in the car daily. But the included case is very nice and will help avoid drop damage. The very strong suction cup keeps the mount itself strongly in place. Then the device clips into place with a very strong magnet so you can easily take it out when not in use. Which is great because having something like that in your car overnight is just one more reason a thief chooses your car over the next. You then plug it into your cigarette lighter port with the Smart USB cord that doubles as a USB power source so you arent losing being able to use your lighter port to be able to charge via USB. The initial set up in the Drive Smarter app wasnt too much of an issue. You can do it 2 ways. If your car is newer and has built in Wi-Fi or use your phone. My 2014 Civic doesnt have Wi-Fi so I had to do the set up via my Galaxy's S21+ Wi-Fi hotspot. So this is something to consider. Thankfully my cell service plan has 25gb of mobile hotspot which is much more than I need or use. It took a few tries while getting everything configured but I was able to get it all connected. Once connected it was time to hit the highway near my house that is constantly being monitored with several hiding spots where by the time you see them its too late. I was very surprised at the alerts coming in. Like I said they sometimes hide well and getting a notification before its too late is what this is all about. And you really dont know if it has worked because you will have been careful. But if you find yourself no longer getting tickets than it must be working. Depending on how much over the speed limit you are a single ticket could pay for this. Other than radar and laser alerts it also has other great features. It will also use other detectors in a shared network to keep everyone up to speed (pun intended). This same data base network will also learn as you drive and even warn you of speed and red light cameras. Another “feature” that really isnt a feature is that along with alerts this is another reminder to stay at the limit. Its so easy to kind of zone out, then come back to reality and realize your speeding. So this being another reminder is great. Like I said this is another one of those things you dont know you need until you do. And it pays for itself in no time by saving you the time, hassle, and of course money you'll avoid. My only wish is that I had one on my motorcycle! Highly recommended. Thanks for reading and your time.

The Escort Max 360C MKII connected radar/laser detector suction cup bracket mounts securely in the windshield but also has a strong magnet that attaches the detector to the bracket. The magnet "clicks" when properly attached to the bracket and holds well even on bumpy roads. A simple tilt forward and the detector pops out of the bracket. It includes a padded carrying case to store the Max 360 when not in use. The power cord stretches when necessary, but coils up when not stretched out. It plugs into your 12v socket (aka cigarette lighter) but also has a USB port so you don't lose use of the socket. There's a mute button if you need to silence it which is easier to access than the button on top of the detector. Download the "Drive Smarter" app to set up the device as they work together, but the app doesn't need to run after set up. However, the app helps identify known radar spots and allows you to report ones you come across. It combines your GPS location with other drivers to alert you to possible threats. It updates through its built-in Wifi and can alert drivers in real time. The screen is easy to read and shows the speed limit, your speed and warns you if you're exceeding the limit. The multi-directional arrows give you a head's up as to where the potential threat may be (front, rear, left, right) and the blue indicator arrows light up nicely during the day without being too bright at night. It also has a brightness adjustment for this feature. It boasts faster response times than the previous model (360c) and improved range. The sensitivity can be adjusted to tune out unwanted warnings and the GPS function learns your routes to help reduce false alarms. So far it works well and since it detects up to 17 bands, it allows me plenty of time to react. I appreciate the idea that I'm getting a little advance warning in case I don't see a speed zone in time, or accidentally exceed the speed limit. Thanks Escort for another great product.

This is a good radar detector. East to set up but the bar code is difficult to photograph for the warranty. My only complaint is with the window suction mount. It only stuck to the windshield for about 200 mile and then it came loose and dropped onto the dash. Fortunately the detector was not damaged. For the price I would have expected a much better/stronger mounting system.

Bought the radar detector then set up install for my Mercedes . I could speak to anyone at the Grapevine Best Buy and on line people said the installer wil. Have the install kit… so did several on line operators in Best Buy’s customer service. Let me add my wife picked up the unit and asked if we needed the install kit and was told directly the installer had it. Today the installer called confirming appointments and said do you have the install kit? I said I was told you did and his response was no I don’t. So maybe I’ll get the e kit in time or have to cancel and reschedule the installation. Best Buy you’ve failed on on line customer service plus there was no means to directly contact the grapevine store until my wife dropped by to pickup the radar detector. Even customer service said yes the installer had the necessary install equipment. False. I’m very displeased with BB customer service on all fronts adding your automated response unit useless confirmation of installation kit on site or needed to be ordered.
