The first one was really good but the directional arrows were not functioning correctly. After reaching out to the manufacturer they were helpful and said the rear sensor was more than likely defective. They asked for proof of purchase before proceeding for warranty but I checked to see if I could have it replaced through Best Buy first and Best Buy made it easy to have it replace. Escort was willing to fix if Best Buy didn't want to swap it. I use it daily and it does a good job at detecting even from far distances. It impressed me from the distances it would alert me when traveling out of town. It sure provided greater sense of comfort if you happened to be driving a little over the speed limit. You'll also be able to see how many signals it is picking up. The app doesn't really seem to have many active users as I have yet to have encountered any alerts from other users on the app.

Absolutely the best radar detector I have owned. Great range and it keeps the false alarms to a bare minimum.

Great purchase! I use this everyday as I travel across several states for work. Has saved me from getting tickets several times.

Loved the radar. Despite of having to exchange it because of a power issue I love it. (Replaced it). The distance on it for sure helps vs the cheaper alternative. Also the app works great so you can set it up to how you want it to work.

Excellent radar detector. Alerts you to where they are with an arrow pointing in the direction of the radar. Pair it with the app and map to your destination. It will also tell you your speed both on the detector and the app. Would definitely recommend.

 I don’t like riding big long reviews but this thing is fantastic. My last one was fantastic and the one before that was fantastic and they’re all passport escort number one in radar detectors.

Works great for the money although the app is outdated.

I have had it for a few weeks now. It seems to be working as Escort said. I'm having problems with connecting to get the local speed limit.

Excellent as a stand-alone radar detector! If definitely kept me out of trouble. Unfortunately, if you plan in using Escort's full capabilities, the combo of the radar detector and the smart-phone App leave a lot to be desired. They contantly lose communication with each other. After each lengthy stretch of driving during a recent road trip, I had to constantly keep removing and re-adding the Escort Max back into the App as a recognized device. I ended up returning this item do to this inconvenience.

Expensive, but worth the $$$. I wish the app was a little more user friendly like Waze

Bought for my Corvette as its a cop magent, but this thing helps notify me when cops are nearby. Obviously its not 100% perfect as cops dont always have their radars on, but can definitely save you a time or two and that pays for itself.

I have been back and forth with escort and uniden radars for many years now. My go to was the r7. Now i had the older escort 360 and liked it because of its features. they sold me on the wifi part making way easier to update. The uniden r7 was a pain to update but far as its response time, it was way better. I ended going back to escort because of its features. The response time on this is way better than the the older 360. Only bad thing incan say about it is the Bluetooth sucks on this. It keeps cutting in and out. Now if you’re trying to use it for the Bluetooth features then look for something else. Would i recommend this radar? No and yes. If you want it for the features, yes. If you want it for response time and distance, no. The uniden r8 is way better. But lacks the features of thr escort. 

Excellent range! A very quiet detector..goes off only when threat is real! I've been using escort products for over 30 years and they never let me down!
