I bought this one for my son after he got a speeding ticket. I've had one for years and I have yet to get a speeding ticket since I purchased it. It works. It can be updated online. You can program in speed traps in your area to warn you to slow down. That info is also uploaded so others can benefit from your input. Well worth the money.

It has a build in gps and it also talks to you. It saves and stores areas with false alarm.

Love it! There is not a lot of false alarms. This is my 2nd Escort to purchase from Best Buy.

I have been a long time detector user. My last two were Valentine Ones. They work very well, but were not very robust. If you use the suction cup mounting at some point they will fail and the detector will fall. Bam. A busted 500 bucks. It doesn't matter what detector you use, the suction cups will fail. I bought the Escort as a replacement hoping it would be more rugged. But the trade off is apparent. On a long road trip, using the AUTO setting as recommended, I did not receive any preliminary warnings. Each time it announced a detection it was at the slam the brakes look around level. I am used to the detection being gradually increasing, especially for stationary broadcast points like door openers. But I didn't get that. I also missed the direction indication. Knowing whether you are being overtaken or approaching is pretty useful. What I do like, though, is the GPS function that indicates speed cameras. That is pretty sweet. The cups haven't failed yet, it's only been a month, so I don't know if the unit is more robust than the Valentine One, but it is definitely not what I have come to expect from a detector.

I returned mine because it was not giving adequate time for me to slow down. Did not work well when the cops were shooting KA across the street, less than 2 seconds of slow time and he was running continuous. There was a little hill and trees blocking him but i bought this one because this was supposed to be better than the average detector. In addition there was a speed sign using radar and it was pointed in the direction i was driving and it would not pick up the K band until i was passing the sign. If this were a cop id be nailed. Liked the gps feature.

I have had it a few weeks and it paid for itself this past Monday. Highly recommended!

Great purchase. We did a lot of research to find a radar detector that would work well. It picks up on red light cameras and radar as well as "learns". If you pass by the same store all the time and it sets the detector off, after a few times, the detector realizes it is just a store and "learns" not to beep there anymore. It was a great price on the Best Buy Deal Of The Day. Highly recommend this product.

I have had similar detectors but not one of them was as accurate as this one. Only thing missing is being able to change the display color.

Good rd with a lot of features and configuration possibilities but it is expensive.
