I would give this 0 stars if I could. The phone started falling apart within 10 months, and after 14 months the entire phone could come apart. I could literally pull the screen off the phone, the speaker rarely worked, there were always call issues, the phone would constantly randomly turn off and on. The camera quality isn't just poor, it's the worst I've seen on any phone in the last 5 years. Manufacturer warranty is useless if it's impossible to get a hold of the company.

I have used this smartphone very long time and it still works very well.

I really really wanted to like this phone. Especially since it's made in the USA and created by the father of Android. I was even willing to give up certain features like wireless charging. However, I've had constant service issues. I even switched from AT&T to Verizon and granted things did get somewhat better, but not a whole lot. It will out of the blue just go into Emergency Calls Only for no reason whatsoever. Even when I'm on WiFi it sometimes just hangs. The only positive thing about it is the look of the phone and their customer service. That's the only reason why they get 2 stars instead of 1.

The operating system on this phone is great as well as the storage, etc. However, even with protective case and screen cover, the phone cracked inside my purse. I don't have much in there and it didn't get dropped. It wasn't even 2 months old. Looked it up and it's a known issue that the manufacturer nor best buy would fix, in my case.

Titanium and ceramic built phone has network issues. Cellular and wifi both are affected.

Switched from years of Samsung note. Essential PH1 is as good as any flagship in terms of build or performance if not better. Camera problems are blown out of proportion, but will agree it could be better. No bloatware, no nonsense and a beautiful screen. At less than half the price of flagships, this phone is a steal.

I was the person who was looking for the in between of a Samsung and iphone. I found it in this. I had the iphone 6 plus for three years and I loved it but it was getting slow and Apple priced me out of the market with their newest X phone. I loved the idea of a new company coming along to challenge the status quo so I gave Essential a shot. I don't regret it. This phone is beautiful. As one person said "I want to wrap it in a towel and hold it like a baby"; I can't stop holding this thing and looking at the screen. Feels very well made. The screen is big and beautiful. Andy Rubin and company made the hardware lightning fast. The phone loads apps in a hurry. Internet searches are almost instantaneous. So far no defects like you might get with other phones such as swelling batteries. The ceramic back is beautiful. Careful not to lay on tilted surfaces as it will slide. The fingerprint sensor is extremely accurate and extremely fast. The phone is the perfect size to use one handed yet has a massive screen. Essential played it smart,... have the hardware in place and everything else can be fixed with software updates. I've read some some complaints about the camera but I haven't had any issues. Besides that, I'm not one to go around wasting my day taking photographs. I liked the simple iphone interface but you can get apps to fully customize the Essential to be like an iPhone: Google Duo is Google's answer to FaceTime and is supposed to work better and there are apps that look similar to iMessages. I really have no complaints about the phone. Maybe make the price $649, but then again I'm a tightwad. I really hope to see this company succeed. To have made a phone this impressive with under 100 employees is exceptional and extraordinary. I'm an Essential fan for sure. Also, I use Cricket Wireless which is owned by ATT and I popped my sim card in and the phone worked with no problems.

Straight Android operating system was fabulous. However the short battery life and the constant loss of cellular signal put me in a bad situation. I returned this phone two days later.

It's constantly freezing on me and doesn't want to load anything. It definitely can not multitask. I want to return it and get something else.

This phone is absolute garbage. I bought the phone two months ago and was using it regularly every day. Phone had a very small micro crack on the back. Right out of the box. But phone function fine. Three days ago the phone quit charging. So I tried to power cycle the phone. And the phone would not come back on. Contacted tech support and they tell me the warranty is null and void. But wants me to pay 200 bucks to get a replacement. I'm highly upset but this phone did not work after 2 months. Save your money and buy a better phone

I was tired of the same old Samsung and Apple phones. I just switched to the Essential Phone. So far no regrets. It is a beautiful device. Performance is on par with my Samsung Note 8. It looks and feels more like a premium device than the other devices in the market. I purchased it unlocked when it was on sale. I inserted my AT&T sim card and it was a seem less transition. If you want something different, a premium build, without spending $1000 then I would check this phone out.
