I’m looking to install my first home security camera system. I need easy installation, effective activity detection/notification and long battery life. After trawling YouTube reviews a Eufy Cam 3 4K system seems to be the go. However when I look outside YouTube at reviews on retailers websites - there are a fair number of negative reviews - in particular people saying the new 4K system is slow to detect and start recording. In effect, the camera misses all or most of the activity. These reviews even come from people who had previously good experiences with older Eufy systems. Negative feedback outside YouTube is common for the HB3/S330 and Floodlight models.

There is considerable delay sometimes from when motion is detected to when it starts recording. If you watch the camera live it does not record. On 4 occasions a camera has complelety failed to record or notifiy me a person approchedy house from the side (i have a side camera with sensitivity turned up). This is concerning because each time it was someone doing work next to a bedroom window. If the sensitivity is too high it alerts me when the wind blows but still misses people. The app leaves alot to be desired - you can only view one stream at a time and they take several long seconds to load when switching. I dont think I could count on these caneras in a situation where my house is broken into or if i need them for a police report.

These cameras are great and they come with their own storage so you do not have to pay for a cloud.

I have 4 of these cameras and a E330 door lock hooked up to this base. The base is connected via cable to my router. The router is netgear R8000P that is connected to a fiber modem with 1gig up and down. Should be plenty for streaming and it is for every other streaming thing I do. I have been a software engineer for the last 17 years. I know everything is fine. It is PAINFUL to wait for this base to give me the live feed upon a notification. Oh someone is at your door Ok let me see Decrypting ... decrypting... decrypting AAAANNNNNDDD they are gone What is the point of the security system if the very thing it is supposed to secure is being left behind. SHOW ME WHAT IS GOING ON ALREADY!!! I know what is going on. As it is recording the person in front of my front door, it is unable to stream it to me at the same time. so I can only see the event AFTER THE FACT! WHAT??? Total waste of money

This system was easy to set up and connect all of my other eufy devices to it! If you get this though, I would recommend ordering a SSD along with it as it doesn’t have a big internal storage, but can be equipped with a SSD to hold your recordings.

Easy to set up...no wires...you can place cams outdoors a long way from home base 3....records up to 2 minutes when motion activated... cons is no 24/7 continuous recording...

Cameras pick up everything depending how you set it up. Very will built . Very easy to set up. Picture quality excellent day or night.
