Customers consistently note the amazing video quality, excellent tracking performance, and surprisingly easy setup, alongside its exceptional battery life and broad coverage. Many also appreciate its advanced features like superior motion detection, AI-guided recording, automatic zoom, and effective solar panel charging, complemented by good night vision. The primary concern raised by users is the camera's size, which some find to be less than discreet.

I've spent the last 8 years trying different smart security cameras only to find myself disappointed every time I bought into a new ecosystem. I took a chance on the eufy S4 Triple lens and I'll never look back. I've tried 4 other brands and not one came close to value the S4 brings to the table. After testing this eufyCam for a week - I immediately ordered the eufy SoloCam S340, video doorbell E340, Home Base, and the Smart Display E10. PROs: 1) Triple Lens - The triple lens is an absolute game changer. Because of my home's layout, I have always needed 2 cameras for my driveway/side yard to cover most of what I wanted secured - the S4 replaced both. Not only did it replace both existing cameras, but I would have needed a 3rd camera to match what the eufyCam S4 can cover. The S4 allows you to point the stationary camera in one direction and set the two cameras below in the opposite direction. The moveable cameras kick into action as soon as motion is detected and they it will return to its pre-set position once its all clear. Brilliant. 2) Motion Detection - Motion detection is the best I've used and it's free! The other system I had just switched to recently not only charged monthly but if you wanted any form of AI motion tracking you had to cough up for a more expensive plan. eufy is FREE FREE FREE. 3) NO SUBSCRIPTION - I'm kicking myself for all the money I wasted on other camera system subscriptions. eufy is doing it right and earned my future business. YOU are in control of YOUR video - you can choose to use the camera's internal storage or upgrade to their home base. Either way, your video is stored locally and reviewing footage in the app is just as fast as any cloud service I've ever used. After spending the last week with this camera and its ecosystem... eufy is a no brainer. You are throwing your money away if you buy from any other national brand. 4) App - The app has every feature you could possibly need or want. You can customize all of your motion settings, take manual control of moveable cameras, and even track your power usage to help you make adjustments as needed. I didn't find any issues with the app... not one. CON's ZERO. I could not find a single issue with the S4. It's the first battery/solar security camera I've ever used and had zero complaints or issues. It lives up to every claim - yes, It really is THAT good. The Specs: Solar powered ✓ 4K video recording ✓ Local storage ✓ AI motion detection (free) ✓ Up to 8x zoom ✓ Built-in 32GB storage (up to 256GB) ✓ If you want max coverage, less cameras plastered around your house, and control over your own video - the S4 Triple Lens is as good as it gets. Take it from the guy who spent the last 8 years and thousands of dollars on subscriptions and sub-par cameras.

I used to use Ring, but the subscription fees along with everything having to be beamed back to homebase before it even made it to my devices was a turn off and I stopped using them completely. I was in the market for a self contained security system, no subscription fees for basic use and local recording functionality that could then be optionally sent to my various devices to monitor and Eufy seemed to fit the bill. Last year I installed a Eufy security system consisting of of two S220 outdoor wireless 2k cameras and the S380 base. It has worked exactly as I have wanted allowing a good degree of monitoring, localized archiving and remote monitoring. The cameras solar charge and they seem to never run out of battery life. But as time has passed, I noticed a few other options I would like including 4k recording, motion tracking and optional motion activated lighting. Enter the EufyCam S4. This is a good security camera with dual cameras and more. While it can be used on its own, what I like the most is it will integrate quickly with your pre-existing eufy ecosystem. Installation was straight forward and I opted to mount this one about 8ft off the ground over my main door. It has a pretty wide range of fixed view (~130 degrees), and I opted to remount my two existing S220 cameras to each corner of my place facing on a ~45 degree angle so I now not only have every angle covered but also some side too to cover the side entrance. This allows me to cover effectively 360 degrees fixed while the tracking camera can cover the full front 180 degrees too. Once setup and installed, it shows up as a device in the eufy app and from there you can access it just like their other cameras but of course the S4 has much more functionality than the S220's so you gain access to more granularity of control/options. You get the same level of alarms / motion detected except now with the motion tracking software it will follow human subjects as they move about. I'm so used to the Eufy app on my phones and tablets now that the S4 has just become an additional "super" camera. Just like the S220s, all footage is saved/archived to the S380 base with a mechanical drive that can be expanded if needed for terabytes of storage. The fixed 4k camera has better pickup and picture than the 2k S220s and while I'm not running it with a dedicated power line (yet), everything is USB-C based and the healthy sized solar panel has kept it running fairly well so far. I did make sure to charge up and top off the battery before installing it and I haven't run out of battery yet. If there was ever a situation where the battery needed topping off, the S4 detaches fairly easily. If you do opt to run a dedicated line, you can have 24/7 monitoring. I do have one of my S220's running on a dedicated power line and I also found out if you run even their S220 cameras to a dedicated line, it becomes much more sensitive and picks up even more motion. Overall, I was already VERY happy with my Eufy setup with the S380 and dual S220's but adding the S4 is the icing on the cake. I may add more eufy cameras to my farther back side and rear of the house, but for what I wanted it for (traffic monitoring, deliveries, catch porch thieves), it has more than delivered and then some.

Premium Build and Practical Smart Features

I’ve been a long-time eufy user, and one of the main reasons I’ve stuck with them is the lack of subscription fees and how solid their app experience is. The eufyCam S4 continues that trend and, in my opinion, represents the best build quality eufy has put out so far. Right out of the box, the camera feels substantial and well-built. This is not a lightweight or flimsy outdoor camera. The housing, mounting hardware, and overall finish all feel premium and designed to hold up outdoors long-term. The triple-lens setup looks modern without being awkward, and it immediately sets this camera apart from typical single-lens options. Coverage is one of the biggest strengths here. The triple-lens design dramatically reduces blind spots, allowing a single camera to cover areas that would normally require multiple fixed cameras. Combined with the near 360-degree view and auto-tracking, it feels like a genuinely smart system rather than a collection of gimmicks. When a person or vehicle enters the scene, the camera does a good job locking on and following movement across its field of view, keeping the subject centered where it matters. Power is another highlight. The built-in solar panel has had no trouble keeping the camera charged in my setup, even with regular motion events. For added peace of mind, eufy includes a large removable battery as a backup in case sunlight is limited. The solar panel can be mounted directly to the camera, or positioned separately using the included extension cable, which has plenty of length to place the panel in an ideal sun-exposed spot. Once installed, it largely becomes a set-it-and-forget-it setup. Nighttime performance is excellent. The large built-in spotlights are not just for show; they noticeably improve nighttime recordings and make color footage far more usable after dark. They also act as a visible deterrent when motion is detected, which is a nice bonus. The eufy app remains one of the strongest parts of the experience. Setup is straightforward, controls are intuitive, and important features are not buried in menus. Motion alerts have been accurate enough that I’m notified when people or vehicles matter, not every time a shadow or tree branch moves. Having all of this without a monthly subscription continues to be a huge selling point. After the initial setup, the camera fades into the background and only shows up when there’s actually something worth checking. That’s exactly what you want from a security camera. Overall, the eufyCam S4 feels like a thoughtful and mature upgrade to eufy’s lineup. The combination of excellent build quality, flexible solar power, wide coverage, strong night performance, and a no-subscription ecosystem makes it easy to recommend for anyone looking to add capable security without adding another monthly bill.

A few years ago, I got a professional security camera system installed. This system only allowed me to review recorded footage when I was in front of the TV, which displayed DVR camera recordings. And then there came the issue that I had never thought about before, which was, what happens when there’s no power to record? This dilemma arose when the city had to cut power to my street for several hours over a two-week period. I have a positive history with the Eufy brand, but I hadn’t seen anything from them that could be a potential replacement for my wired cameras. Then I discovered the EufyCam S4. Set-Up: Installing the S4 Cam is pretty simple. Make sure you charge the camera before installing it. Then, be sure you know where you want to place the camera. Yes, you can uninstall the mount and move it elsewhere if you desire, but I can’t imagine anyone wanting to do that several times. Also, you’re going to need to download the Eufy app and create an account if you don’t have one already. Syncing the camera to the app is really fast and easy. You can choose to mount the solar charging panel away from the camera, or you can mount the panel on top of it. I chose to mount it to the top due to where I installed it. My camera battery reached full charge within a couple of hours, and then it only took me about 15 or 20 minutes to have it all up and running. Performance: The picture quality was excellent, which I typically expect from Eufy. The upper stationary lenses are 4K while the lower, rotating/swivel camera lenses are 2K. The camera movement is responsive when you’re interacting with them via the app. There are a lot of features to play around with when it comes to customization. There’s AI tracking, key area monitoring, alarms, spot light, among a list of others. And let me warn you about the alarm… It’s LOUD. I tested the 30-second sequence, and I turned it off because I didn’t want to falsely attract attention. I was also impressed with the Zoom feature(s). With other cameras, when I had zoomed in, the quality suffered, and it would become grainy. On this camera, I used the 8x zoom, and it was still clear. And finally, the last praise I have to offer this Eufy camera is that it’s solar-powered! I don’t have to worry about removing a battery to charge every two months, I do not have to be concerned about running a power cord to this camera, and I don’t have to worry if and when the power goes out because this camera will continue recording. Safety Matters: If you’ve been on the fence about getting a security camera to protect your property or to monitor the happenings in your backyard, then I really recommend this S4 Cam. It’s easy to install and easy to operate. And best of all, it's all accessible in the palm of your hand.

I was very impressed with this home security camera overall. Great image quality, virtually endless battery life with the solar panel with the option to use a hard line. The software used to control it is great, and combining this with a Homebase 3 really lets this camera shine. Only gripe is the screws that come with don't feel as sturdy. Wish it did come with more spares. But other than that, highly recommend if you want a home security camera that comes with neat features and storage for videos without needing a subscription.

Innovative and Best In Class Outdoor Security Cam

For the last week, I've been testing the EufyCam S4 Triple-Lens Wireless Solar Security Camera. Overall, I think this is the best and most innovative outdoor security camera I've tested in years. Over the years, I have owned many security cameras from all the major brands. Eufy cameras are consistently among the best for picture quality, battery life, solar charging, and innovation in general. With the EufyCam S4, Eufy once again produced a product that blows me away. Install and Setup The S4 is packed with features, but I will start with its ease of installation and setup. Using the Eufy app, I was able to add the device to my account simply by scanning the QR code on the back. Mounting the camera is straightforward; the bracket requires just two screws, and the camera body slides in to be secured by two spring-loaded screws. The solar mount is equally simple to install, also requiring only two screws. However, for my specific installation, I would have preferred a no-drill gutter mount option. Finally, connecting the camera to the solar panel was seamless, thanks to the 10-foot waterproof USB-C extension cable Eufy conveniently included. Solar Charging The included solar panel works great. In my area, we've had cloudy days, snow, and very few hours of direct sunlight. But the solar panel still provided enough charge to operate the camera and charge the battery a few extra percent each day. With the combination of the large rechargeable battery and solar panel, I am very confident I will not have to worry about losing coverage due to a lack of power. Detection and Identification The bullet camera excels at detection. Its vertical adjustability is a great feature, allowing me to focus monitoring on the area in front of my house rather than the sky. However, it is worth noting that the bullet camera’s sensor has weaker peripheral detection, meaning it needs to be centered on the primary area where activity occurs. Fortunately, this is augmented by the Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera. The PTZ unit has its own detection sensor, and when positioned differently from the bullet camera, it significantly extends detection coverage. Furthermore, the PTZ camera is excellent for identification; it not only tracks detected objects but also zooms in close enough to easily distinguish between known and unknown individuals. Image Quality All the built-in cameras provide outstanding image quality. Videos are crystal clear, and colors are accurate. Even when using the cameras at night, I remain impressed at the great image quality. App and HomeBase The Eufy app is where I access captured video events, settings, and controls for the camera. It has a polished user interface that is easy to use and understand. Videos are organized by date, and they load quickly on most occasions. Every now and then, the app will struggle to load video events or the live view. It can be frustrating, but I think it's more of a limitation of my home Wi-Fi. As for the HomeBase S380, I think it is a good accessory. It is not needed to use the camera, but it is necessary for extended storage options. I also noticed that it reduced the lag time of the EufyCam S4. Best of all, there is no subscription required. With all that said, the Eufy S4 is the best home security camera I have tested in years, and I give it my highest recommendation.

Very easy to set up and I really like the fact that I can have it in a fixed position as a preset or have it track a subject until it is out of view. Also since they run on solar power I never have to worry about charging the battery. Great device overall.

I’ve been really impressed with this camera so far. The multi-lens setup is a standout feature; it gives a much wider and more dynamic view than typical cameras, and the auto tracking works smoothly to follow movement without missing anything. Installation was also surprisingly easy. I had it up and running quickly without needing to mess with complicated wiring, which was a huge plus. Overall, it feels like a well-designed, high-quality security camera with smart features that actually work as advertised. Definitely worth it if you want strong coverage and convenience without monthly fees.

    Great Concept, Poor Execution

I own several Eufy S3 Pro cameras and have been very pleased with them. The battery life is exceptional, and the 4K image quality is outstanding. My only real complaint is the limited field of view. Because of that, I decided to try the S4 Triple Lens. I assumed the newer model would be an upgrade over the S3 Pro—especially with the added auto-tracking feature. That assumption didn’t hold up. While the concept is promising, the execution falls short. The camera is slow to detect motion, and when it does, the tracking is inconsistent and doesn’t perform as advertised. It also regularly misses activity within the designated activity zone, which is a basic expectation. The bigger issue, however, is battery life. Due to the camera’s placement, consistent solar charging isn’t an option, so I expected to recharge it periodically—similar to my experience with the S3 Pro. For comparison, I installed my S3 Pro in June of last year and still had about 30% battery remaining when I replaced it. The S4, on the other hand, dropped to 39% in just 17 days under similar 4K recording and streaming conditions. For me, this one is a pass. I just wish I had completed my evaluation within 15 days instead of 17—I would have returned it to Best Buy.
