Very easy to set up and I really like the fact that I can have it in a fixed position as a preset or have it track a subject until it is out of view. Also since they run on solar power I never have to worry about charging the battery. Great device overall.

Love it. Replacing a Lorex system with a eufy system. I would argue that the video quality is a bit better on my Lorex system. But the Eufy system is a smart system. With face, pet, package recognition. Just way friendlier.

such great value for the money. i was sick of paying for subscription to the big search engine company so swapped out my whole system to eufy. the solar panel is strong and recharges the unit no problem and the camera quality is probably one of the best for consumer grade. and no subscription!

I’ve tried the other big name home security cameras and eufy has the longest battery life of them all. Plus eufy stays connected and reconnects when the net goes down.

Camera works really good, picture quality is great. Best part about this system is there is no monthly fee for data storage when you add the home base.

Eufy continues to be my favorite security camera platform for home use. One of the best parts, which I routinely point out to friends and family, is that there are NO MONTHLY FEES! You pay for the camera once and that’s it. Eufy doesn’t nickel and dime you for storage, features, remote access, or anything. That alone would make it worth overlooking any minor flaws, although there really aren’t many (if any) to overlook. I was skeptical that the fixed bullet cam would really bring much to the table, but I was wrong. When someone (or something) is detected, the 2k PTZ camera can zoom in and track that object. The tracking can be a tad choppy at first, but once it gets dialed in it’s pretty smooth. Meanwhile, the bullet cam keeps recording the big picture at 4k to ensure nothing else is missed. Another cool feature with this is the ability to have the bullet cam monitoring a bigger area while the PTZ camera is watching a different section. You could then (if you wanted to) set it up so that the PTZ camera would pan and zoom to anything the bullet cam detects. The external solar charging is also great. I put the camera up with only 60% charge and it pretty much stayed at 60% with 4 overcast days. After one day with decent sunlight, it went up to 80%. If you have any hard to reach locations (as long as they have decent sunlight exposure) this camera could run indefinitely. Even if the camera location happens to be under an eave, you could choose to mount the solar panel separately, providing solid charging capability. The 4k recording is excellent and provides great detail. Night recording is very good as well. If you choose to have the light activated when events are detected after dark, you’ll also get good color. Personally, I don’t care to activate the light, so I get black and white, however it has excellent quality. Installation is very simple and basically entails two screws to mount the bracket, slide the camera on, and then two locking screws. If you already have a Homebase 3, pairing is quick, simple, and trouble-free. If you don’t have a Homebase 3, no worries as the S4 can also utilize wifi instead. You do miss out on a few features without the Homebase 3, like facial recognition, cross-camera tracking (if you have multiple Eufy cameras), expanded storage, and 24/7 Smart Snapshot. Nothing earth shattering, but something you might want to consider. Overall, I can’t recommend the Eufycam S4 (or any Eufy camera for that matter) enough. Eufy is always my first recommendation whenever someone asks me about home security cameras. You won’t be disappointed!

Alright, so when it comes to security cameras, the biggest factor for me is whether features are locked behind paywalls. Thankfully, that’s not an issue at all with the Eufy Cam S4! Every feature can be fully used without paying for a subscription. Video playback, local storage, motion detection—it’s all included. And if you need more memory than the camera itself can hold, you can grab the hub that stores up to 16TB of data. I 100% recommend the hub if you plan on using more than one Eufy camera. Now, about the unit itself: this camera isn’t exactly discreet. It’s a little bulky, but honestly not too bad. I don’t care if people see that I have cameras, but if you do, it’s worth noting. On the plus side, it feels extremely sturdy and well made—I can easily see it holding up outdoors. Installation was straightforward, and I really appreciate that I can place the solar panel wherever it gets the best sun without compromising where I want the camera. Speaking of, I absolutely LOVE that it charges through solar power. I live in a very sunny part of the U.S., so keeping the battery charged is no problem. If you’re somewhere with lots of cloudy weather, though, it might be more hassle than it’s worth. For me, not dealing with wires is a total life saver and has saved me so much headache. The one thing I’m not thrilled about is the frame rate. It records at 15 FPS, and even with 4K resolution, I notice artifacting more often than I’d like. I really wish it had at least 30 FPS, and I’d be ecstatic if it hit 60 FPS. Overall, this is a great product. Easy to install, simple to keep running, and no subscription nonsense. At this price point, it’s hard to beat.

stay powered with just a bit of direct light

My experience with the eufyCam S4 Triple Lens system over the last month has been more than favourable. At first, I thought the tri-lens approach would be another gimmick, but the combination of both 4K bullet lens and 2K PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera was a surprisingly good design. The fixed lens provides a consistent wide-angle view of my driveway, and the auto-tracking PTZ has followed people walking through my front yard fairly well -- though there are times where it seemed to take longer than expected to track someone, it still captures what I need. The solar charging has been a huge relief. Even though the winter sun has not been kind, the camera continues to stay charged with very little sunlight impacting it directly. Installation was easy; however, I did make a couple mistakes aligning the solar panel (LOL). I was also really impressed with the speed of the AI built into the camera, and I don't have to pay for any monthly fees for footage storage (seriously). The image quality of both day and night video is sharp, with the deterrent light and siren being extremely mild, but loud enough that an intruder may reconsider his actions. One thing you may consider is investing in larger back-up storage down the road; 32GB can fill up quicker than anticipated. Overall, it's a camera that does everything it says it will do, and I don't feel overwhelmed trying to use it. It's not quite perfect, but it comes borders on perfection more so than other cameras I've tried.

So one of my cameras that's posted up very high on the house, went out...and I waited to replace it. Once I saw this new model from eufy, I knew I was going to get it. The older model eufy up there, has been in place for over 5 years. It finally stopped. It was solar powered too, but was a different model. This one is simply amazing. It has a 360 camera, AND a fixed camera. I can see a lot more in view with this one in comparison to my older one. It has a much wider field of view, and looks amazing in 4k. The bottom camera can be set to track EVERYTHING, so I have it set up that way. The built storage is a nice touch as well, so no need to change an SD card like the older versions. I have mind synced to my main box as well, so I have hundreds of gigs in storage. I like that. The cameras is battery powered, but comes with a solar panel. This is a HUGE win for those mounting it up high on their home like I did. No need to ever get up there again. To install this camera is super easy, and went up fast. I had to drill some new wholes, but I'm okay with that. It sit so high up, no one will even notice. They are covered by the camera anyway. Everything comes in the box for a quick simple install, so even the most basic of skills can do it. Software setup is really easy, just follow the instructions in the app, and you are golden. Overall, this is for sure a wonderful upgrade from some of the older versions they have if you are using one of them like I was for the last 5 years or more. This is a must buy if you have eufy products.

The eufyCam S4 is a solid choice to monitor your front yard or back yard area. This camera combines a fixed 4K wide-angle bullet lens with a 360 degree pan-tilt-zoom module, meaning it can see everything that is relevant without having to worry about the camera angle when installing too much. Video quality from the 4K lens is sharp and clear in daylight, and the eufyCam S4 tracks people that are moving well. The S4 has night vision and a built-in spotlight to provide good footage after dark. Eufy’s SolarPlus 2.0 system states with just about an hour of direct sunlight each day, the camera can maintain its charge without frequent manual recharging. I am not sure about that since I have eufy solo cams where the solar panel failed within 2 years due to the amount of sunlight that was hitting the builtin solar panels. I have the S4 operating on my Eufy HomeBase so I can utilize AI detection and also leverage the 2TB hardrive I have installed in my homebase. I had a few instances of the camera not following a person that was in motion and had a few false motion alerts. SO while the camera system is advanced, shadows still can cause false alarms. However, there is no monthly fee to use this camera system and the flexibility the S4 offers is a great way to surveil your property.

I have 10 Eufy Cameras installed at a large property with multiple buildings. The S4 is the most advanced and largest. It combines features professional continuous security cameras and more limited use home security cameras. I have attached it to my Homebase S380 which I purchased separately. The S380 enhances the functionality of the S4 but is not required as the camera can also be connected directly to Wifi. A large rechargeable removable battery is included; however, the unit can also be directly and continuously powered with DC. I believe the included battery is 10,000 mAhs. DC power will allow continuous recording and 4 seconds of prerecording for motion clips. If continuous recording is desired it would be best to wirelessly link the unit to the homebase with storage drive. I inserted an old 2.5 laptop drive into the homebase to expand storage. If you are going with the included battery for power, it can be supported (indefinitely depending on sun and utilization) with the included 5 Watt solar panel. The panel can be attached to the top of the mounted camera or separately to allow for better solar (needed mounts are both included!). The software and app are overall excellent and flexible. There are many settings including privacy and motion zones which can help you optimize notifications and alarms. There are two fields of view one fixed and the other mobile with an attempt to give an overview of a large area with more detailed tracking of motion. The included AI will attempt to identify the type of motion and inform the owner in the notification. This so far seems much improved from my S220 camera which is also attached the homebase which confused deer with humans. The image quality is excellent and on the first night a small fox was recorded crossing the large area of motion detection (and classified as a pet). Overall, a solid incremental improvement with the ability to cover a large area such as a driveway with the extra feature of PTZ detail with motion. One day AI will improve to make notifications are recordings more precise.
