This Eufy 4k S4 is amazing when it detect motion the camera automatically zoom in

Love it. Replacing a Lorex system with a eufy system. I would argue that the video quality is a bit better on my Lorex system. But the Eufy system is a smart system. With face, pet, package recognition. Just way friendlier.

Great upgrade from S340, much better picture and having both fixed and movable is nice.

Camera clarity is good and best choice for bullet camera

The eufyCam S4 is the best wireless security camera I’ve ever used. There are so many features it’s hard to talk about them all in one review. Even if you’ve used eufy cameras before (as I have) and weren’t completely impressed, the S4 is absolutely worth another look. The most impressive feature is how well it tracks subjects. I have mounted mine so the fixed wide-angle camera overlooks my driveway, while the motorized bullet cam can spin around to monitor my front door. As delivery drivers walk up the driveway, the bullet camera will swivel around and follow them all the way to the door. I can clearly see where packages are placed, and the camera continues tracking them back to their vehicle. What’s even more impressive is that it’s tracking the next-door neighbors’ deliveries as well, zooming in with enough clarity to see their faces as they walk up and down their driveways. I’ve been equally impressed by the motion detection improvements that the radar and PIR sensors add. I have some existing eufyCam S330 cameras, and although they are good cameras, their effective motion detection range is short, maybe 15 feet. The S4 is detecting motion all the way out to the street. I’m now getting events recorded for every vehicle that drives by, something my older cameras simply couldn’t do. Detection is also faster, as the older cameras would even miss delivery drivers if they ran up the driveway and back fast enough. In the app, you will see both the fixed and movable viewpoints at the same time. You can manually control the movable camera. You can set up activity zones, adjust motion sensitivity, and set which events to record and notifications to receive based on what type of activity has been detected, such as humans, vehicles, or pets. I only wish it had package as a separate detection type because I want to be notified of each package (so I can go grab it) but record all other motion in the background. The S4 can be used as a standalone camera or as part of a network of cameras when connected to a HomeBase S380. I’m using it with HomeBase, which allows me to store all my recordings locally on a 1TB SSD drive, and enables the cameras to share facial recognition data. The snapshot feature allows you to configure the camera to capture images at set time intervals. When reviewing an entire day of activity, this fills in the gaps where no motion was detected. I really like this feature as it gives me a timelapse of an entire day which makes it easier to understand the day's activities. Battery life and solar performance have been excellent. I’ve only had it a few days, but I’ve never seen the battery dip lower than 80%. The solar panel can be attached directly to the camera or mounted elsewhere and connected with a cable. A huge plus is the removable battery. As the battery eventually begins to degrade in a few years I can simply replace it with a brand new one. Best of all, you get all of this for just the price of purchasing the device. While eufy does offer subscription plans with active monitoring or cloud backup, all of the core functionality is available for free with local recordings. No monthly or annual fees. The only downside is that it is a bit bulky. It’s not a camera that you will be able to hide if that is what you are looking for, especially if you have the solar panel attached to it. Pros: - No monthly fees - 4K fixed zone wide angle camera - 2K 360 degree pan-tilt-zoom to follow motion - AI-powered tracking and 8x zoom - Works with or without eufy HomeBase - Excellent distance motion sensing capability - Solar-powered and includes 5.5w solar panel - Night Vision - Local Storage Support - 24-7 Recording Support - Removable rechargeable battery - 2-way audio communication - Warning Lights / 105 db Siren Cons: - Bulky, not discreet Overall – the eufyCam S4 is an outstanding solar-powered outdoor camera that provides intelligent motion tracking, long range detection, and excellent video quality, all without any ongoing subscription fees.

Nothing new of fancy about the Eufy solar powered security camera. Solar panel doesn't even charge the camera even with it facing a full sunny day. Already returned it once only to get the same old system. Solar panel doesn't work. Neither is the video/ picture any different from the previous model. Waste of money. Don't buy.

I have 10 Eufy Cameras installed at a large property with multiple buildings. The S4 is the most advanced and largest. It combines features professional continuous security cameras and more limited use home security cameras. I have attached it to my Homebase S380 which I purchased separately. The S380 enhances the functionality of the S4 but is not required as the camera can also be connected directly to Wifi. A large rechargeable removable battery is included; however, the unit can also be directly and continuously powered with DC. I believe the included battery is 10,000 mAhs. DC power will allow continuous recording and 4 seconds of prerecording for motion clips. If continuous recording is desired it would be best to wirelessly link the unit to the homebase with storage drive. I inserted an old 2.5 laptop drive into the homebase to expand storage. If you are going with the included battery for power, it can be supported (indefinitely depending on sun and utilization) with the included 5 Watt solar panel. The panel can be attached to the top of the mounted camera or separately to allow for better solar (needed mounts are both included!). The software and app are overall excellent and flexible. There are many settings including privacy and motion zones which can help you optimize notifications and alarms. There are two fields of view one fixed and the other mobile with an attempt to give an overview of a large area with more detailed tracking of motion. The included AI will attempt to identify the type of motion and inform the owner in the notification. This so far seems much improved from my S220 camera which is also attached the homebase which confused deer with humans. The image quality is excellent and on the first night a small fox was recorded crossing the large area of motion detection (and classified as a pet). Overall, a solid incremental improvement with the ability to cover a large area such as a driveway with the extra feature of PTZ detail with motion. One day AI will improve to make notifications are recordings more precise.

The eufyCam S4 is a solid choice to monitor your front yard or back yard area. This camera combines a fixed 4K wide-angle bullet lens with a 360 degree pan-tilt-zoom module, meaning it can see everything that is relevant without having to worry about the camera angle when installing too much. Video quality from the 4K lens is sharp and clear in daylight, and the eufyCam S4 tracks people that are moving well. The S4 has night vision and a built-in spotlight to provide good footage after dark. Eufy’s SolarPlus 2.0 system states with just about an hour of direct sunlight each day, the camera can maintain its charge without frequent manual recharging. I am not sure about that since I have eufy solo cams where the solar panel failed within 2 years due to the amount of sunlight that was hitting the builtin solar panels. I have the S4 operating on my Eufy HomeBase so I can utilize AI detection and also leverage the 2TB hardrive I have installed in my homebase. I had a few instances of the camera not following a person that was in motion and had a few false motion alerts. SO while the camera system is advanced, shadows still can cause false alarms. However, there is no monthly fee to use this camera system and the flexibility the S4 offers is a great way to surveil your property.
