    Great Solar Powered 3K Security Camera

    I have a few brands of security cameras and Eufy is my favorite because of the quality of their incredibly innovative products. I already own the dual cam Eufy doorbell so I was excited to try the Eufy SoloCam S340 with dual cameras. Talk about innovative, the S340 has 3K resolution, is solar powered, and connects via wifi so no wiring required. Plus this Eufy offers 360 degree surveillance due to its motorized tracking ability when it senses motion. In the box you find the S340, a solar panel, mounting bracket, hardware, usb-c charging cables, and a quick start guide. Just grab the Eufy app for setup and just add a device. Search for the S340 and then you can select to connect it directly to your wifi network or you can connect it to your Eufy Home Base if you already have one. I do have one but I discovered that I could not connect to it. I’m assuming because it’s an older Home Base. This was somewhat aggravating and disappointing. Having no other option, I connected directly to wifi. You then use the 8gb of onboard storage for video. You get more storage with the Home Base. Once connected to wifi there was a prompt for a firmware update. This update was quick. I was ready for mounting so I attached the solar panel to the top of the camera with the solar panel mount and the shorter usb cable. You can do this or mount the panel elsewhere separately if you prefer. A longer charging cable is included for this option. I referenced the quick start guide for mounting and installation instructions. I was torn on where to place the S340 but ultimately opted for camera coverage for my patio, rear gate, and driveway. They suggest mounting 7 to 10 feet high. I only had a few options where I could easily mount the camera so it ended up being at about 7 feet. I got multiple motion notifications during setup so I knew everything was working well. I jumped on the app to check out the live view. Here you see the video feed from both cameras. The top is more of a wide angle shot that covered a huge swath of my backyard. The lower video is zoomed view. Surprisingly I found the zoomed view not particularly useful. To me it seems too zoomed and not independently adjustable. You can however opt for single view in the settings. I frankly think that mounting at 7 feet is too low. I intend to move the cam higher. The video quality is very nice at 3K which looks much better than my other Eufy cams which are 2K. You can remotely pan and tilt the cam in live view. You can also turn the spotlight on and off. There is a speaker on the camera so you can also talk through the cam in live view which is very convenient say if your getting a package and want to talk to the delivery person. Here you can also record a video or take a photo. Night vision is excellent in infrared but you can also opt for color night vision which turns on the spotlight when motion is detected. In live view you can also turn the spotlight on and off. I love the ai tracking feature which follows an individual as they move through the detection area. In the app you’ll find a multitude of settings. Here you can adjust the motion detection activity zone. I have mine aimed at the gate from my driveway. You can select detection of humans, vehicles, or all motion. I opted for human detection. I love the instant notifications when motion is detected. You can select which notifications you prefer in the settings. I selected text and a thumbnail so you can quickly see an image of what was detected even prion to checking the recorded video. Eufy has continued its innovative development of wifi security cams with the solar powered dual cam S340. It really is a full featured device with great image quality. I’m already planning on getting another one.

    Disconnected from Wi-Fi won’t reconnect

    I really wanted this camera to work. Unfortunately, after about three weeks it disconnected from the Wi-Fi. I have several other cameras which work fine. I tried everything to reconnect but had no luck. I’ll be returning to store.

    About 2 years ago I switched all my security cameras over to the Eufy brand. I have a total of 7 cameras around my property covering pretty much every inch of it. Our backyard gets a Ton of sun, so I previously had the Solo cam S230 back there, but I wasn’t always happy because the range of the camera didn’t quite cover the whole backyard. There were a few dead spots that didn’t have coverage by the camera. So I was very excited when I saw that Eufy made a camera that was solar and pan/tilt. Even better, it had 2 cameras in it! I had no choice but to get it. Out of the box it was the same quality I have come to expect from Eufy. Solid plastic and body that can withstand the elements. My previous Solo cam had no problem getting through the harsh Wisconsin winters, and hot summers all in direct sunlight for most of the time. Putting it together and getting it connected took me maybe 10 minutes. If you have never used a Eufy product before it might take you an extra 5-10 minutes to get it all figured out. Mounting was also a breeze. There is a mounting bracket that you just put in 3 screws and then you slide the camera onto that bracket and you are good to go. Over the last week we have had 3 days that were complete overcast for the entire day and a few partly sunny days as well. The battery never dropped below 94%, so this will last a very long time. As far as the operation of it goes. The pan and tilt part work great. I was easily able to cover my entire backyard when it is light, as well as at night. The spotlight that comes on it isn’t that bright, but it illuminates the area enough so the camera can clearly see anything. I would still probably have a motion activated floodlight in the area. I did notice that in lower light or at night there was a lot of ghosting happening. I have seen this happen with other Eufy cameras before and from what I remember they were able to fix it with firmware updates. The dual camera thing is great, but I think Eufy could use it better. For example, if it detects motion and you are using the 1x camera, it could zoom in on that motion using the 3x camera and follow it. Then when the motion isn’t detected anymore, it could switch back to the 1x camera. At the time of writing this, there is no option that I can find to do that. There is either use one camera, or record in the split screen mode (which uses more battery). With either camera, I found the image to be clear enough where I could easily make out faces and colors of clothes and things like that (when using color night vision) . Apart from the ghosting issue, that will hopefully be fixed, I cannot say enough good things about this camera! The best part is that unlike other companies, there is no monthly fee for this camera! It records all of the videos on the internal storage for playback and they will stay on there until the storage is full and then it will start to overwrite it. Most of my cameras I get about a week of stored footage, but that will vary depending on use and the video quality you record in. The Eufy app I have always found very easy to use and navigate. I have owned pretty much every brand of camera that is out there and the Eufy app is definitely one of the better ones out there! Definitely give Eufy a chance if you are in the market for some easy to use video surveillance cameras for your home or office!

    S340 AI does not track. Will not follow subject. Have contacted Dufy support and still not been resolved. Purchased this Solo cam eight months ago, can not take back to Bedtbuy.

    I bought this product from Best Buy, but the product stopped working after 6 months. I reached out to Best Buy customer care, and they said it's not their problem and I have to directly contact Eufy, even though the product came with a one-year warranty! I contacted eufy and have not heard back from them since. Shame on Best Buy with this horrible customer service. What the point of buying from you? Its Worst Buy

    Stopped working basically within 2 months

    Within 20 days I noticed the lense wasn’t clear, I tried to return but it wasn’t within the 15 day policy. Huge waste of money. Now 2 months later the solar panel doesn’t work and neither does direct power to charge. Its a dead camera, that I JUST bought and am now stuck with.

    Garbage, don't buy

    I needed this to catch my neighbor poisoning my dogs. Won't track the car pulling in the driveway. Only records her going back into her house. Like total waste of money. What about coming out of her house. The customer service for the company is joke. Repeated emails for the same information you've already sent. My crappy not waterproof kasa camera works better than. I'm frustrated. We're returning as soon as we pull it down.

    motion sensor is very weak, it catches motion range 45 - 60 degrees angle, beyond it won't. it cut off video frequently, video quality is good, rotation movement recording is good but depend motion comes within that range only

    I have several Eufy products, and I've been satisfied with both the products and the support from Eufy/Anker. My issue is the degradation of Best Buy Total Tech support. I've been a TT member for years and until they recently changed their program, felt TT added value. This service no longer adds value. They've removed the length of protection and now charge for service. It's no longer of value to be to continue the service or shop at Best.

    Don't buy. Poor motion sensor and needs 4k.

    Don't buy this camera. Wait for an improved version. The concept of this camera is great but the real capability and execution of its performance is poor. The camera won't pick up vehicles driving into my driveway nor on my street. (Garbage trucks, delivery trucks, and other regular vehicles). The motion sensor on this camera is the weak link. This camera should also be 4k, but it's not. I hope that Eufy will significantly upgrade this camera in the near future an charge more for the enhanced abilities. Until then, I'll suffer with missing significant motion activities in my front yard. Don't buy. Wait for an improved version.

    Bought thought it would be an upgrade from the ring. Was good for a couple of days reached out to customer service and they started out like they wanted to resolve the issues but all they wanted me to do is reset it every day. Who wants to climb a ladder every day to make their security camera work
