Despite what you may have heard regarding privacy, these are the best options for non subscription based cameras.

Had these now for a few months... they work well. The camera works well and he app is user friendly. Not having a subscription is nice. Also like that you can expand to more cameras. Battery lasts a few months, depends on how active the area is. One of my cameras gets more action and it does drain faster than the other camera, but still lasts a few months. Good product!

So far I've had these camera up for almost three months. The weather has been mostly below freezing and the battery still shows a full a battery on the app. So I'm impressed with that battery especially with the harsh winter conditions with cold, snow, and freezing rain. I have noticed sometimes it does not pick up on some movements but there are days it picks up wind so that's a bit annoying. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and would buy this set again.

I installed my Eufy camera and absolutely love it!!! It was very easy to install and provides very clear video. It is also very sensitive to picking motions and detecting when someone has been on your property. The video is so clear (including the audio) that I have actually heard and seen some interesting conversations. Also, no paying for monthly cloud storage.

Another great product from Eufy. Having used the Eufy Smart wi-fi 2k video doorbell for several months I was very excited to try their 1080p security cameras and they did not dis-appoint!
Nicely packaged and comes with everything you need to install/setup;
Homebase 2 with 16GB eMMC memory (not expandable)
6 ft AC power adapter (kind of large brick at plugin) for Homebase
4 ft ethernet cable for Homebase to modem/router connection
2 1080p 2C wire-free cameras with built in spotlight
5 ft Micro-USB charging cable (can be plugged into back of Homebase to charge cameras).
Does not come with its own AC adapter brick.
2 Camera mounts
Owner’s manual
24/7 Monitoring Security Warning sticker
Positives;
Was very easy to un-pack and setup following nicely detailed instructions. Homebase also “talks” you thru it. Since I already had a Homebase setup for doorbell – I only had to go into my phones already installed app and add the 2 cameras. Was able to name them anything I wanted and took maybe 5 minutes. Also, once all were added I was able to re-order the way they showed up in the app home screen. You can also choose whether there is a water mark, date/time or both or none on your recordings.
Took about 5 hours to fully charge the cameras using power cord USBs. They use micro-usb connection (would have preferred usb-c). App gives battery percentage
The base and cameras are connected using their own wireless network using a 256-bit encrypted connection.
Cameras are smaller than I thought they would be and seem thoughtfully designed and sturdily built. Very nice integration of the flood lights which can have their brightness set within the app. Installing them was very easy and the mounts allow for a large range of swivel to allow best positioning. Packaging mentions cameras are IP67 Weather proof – mentioning temperature range of -4F to 122F. I made sure to install them in shaded areas as I had to move the doorbell since pretty much every afternoon this spring it would lose connection. To be fair front of our house faces west and doorbell was in direct afternoon sun with temps being well over 125 F in the entryway (yeah not so much fun living in the desert in the summer). Once I moved the doorbell to a much more shaded area by the door it has not lost connection once. So, decided to do same with cameras - just FYI.
Front door camera is about 40 feet away from base with 3 walls for signal to go thru. Back yard is just on other side of wall. No issues getting either to connect.
Day and Night motion and sound detection are extremely good with very little lag time starting recording. You can set the detection level as well as recording all movement or only humans – it uses its built in AI to decide). I had to set the detection level down a couple of notches as sound sets them off too and the camera in backyard was turning on if ANY noise was detected – giving me a lot of false alerts. Even with detection not on high backyard camera picked up a very tiny bird at the very edge of the screen area. Front door picked up the very edge of a bird’s wing as it flew by so they are accurate and fast at recording. 1080P resolution is very good but does get grainy when zooming in. Field of view is great and records in color at night when you have the flood light option on.
Was concerned about flood light draining the battery but so far it doesn’t seem to affect it very much. I have it turned on at front door and off in backyard so will be interesting to see how each battery life compares. Documentation indicates 180 days of battery life. Having to take down to charge every so often also impacted where I decided to install the cameras – need to be sure they are easily gotten to but can’t be ripped off.
Recorded footage is easy to watch and can be viewed widescreen by turning phone. It is also easy to download an event onto your phone if you want to save it. You can also do a live view from any of the cameras or doorbell and manually record while doing so. Of course, this eats into battery life.
While there is an option to purchase cloud storage ($3 monthly or $30 annually both with 30 days overwrite) – you don’t have to as the base comes with 16GB built in memory. But eMCC, is hard wired into base and not upgradable, which is a bummer. However, there is an option to use your own NAS but it has to be able to use the RTSAP (real time streaming protocol). I don’t have a recognized NAS system so could not test this
App itself is one of the better ones I have used and alerts are very quick. It has extensive settings for both base and cameras. I found it easy to navigate and also has built in access for help. There is an explore option bottom right on main screen and it details Eufys other product offerings. So, while product info is there it is not pushed at you unless you look for it.
1-year warranty.
Negatives;
Since base needs to be hard-wired for internet access you will need an open connection on your router or modem. Bo issue for me as I had open connections but if you don’t - you can pick up an unmanaged 8 connection hub pretty cheap if need be. Also, since alarm, doorbell chime, etc – comes from the base you need to set it where you can hear it. This can be a big issue. For me I have a mesh system and my extender happens to be in the family room so attaching base to it worked well.
Can’t add/upgrade memory on base. It would be pretty much perfect if you could upgrade. Having the NAS option is nice but not sure how many people actually have their own dedicated NAS system at home.
There is no computer application to work with Windows, etc. So, you have to use android or apple to access.
Overall, very nice and highly recommend. Having built in flood lights in such a small camera with color recording sets these apart from the pack. Make sure you go through all of the options in the app so you can fine tune to your liking.

Great price and easy to install. We purchased this system on recommendation from our police officer neighbor who also owns the Eufy system. Long battery life compared to most others of similar quality and price point. Love that this system has the ability to add more cameras if needed. We will definitely be adding on to our system.

Great security camera. Image is clear. Price is decent. Set up and using app is easy and best part is don't need pay for monitoring service or storage. Cameras are a perfect small size and rechargeable batteries are much better than having to change physical batteries. I have a lot of notifications so battery didn't last 6months. More like 3 months.

This is a great camera system. The Homebase allows for local storage although cloud storage is available for a fee.
The only drawback is the base unit is a Homebase/2 rather than a Homebase/3 which allows for more internal storage. With the Hombase/3, I probably have given it 5 stars.

Great cameras. I had Arlo cameras which I replaced with these, the quality of the video on Eufy is superior to Arlo and the speed of notifications for movement by eufy is much faster than the Arlo. Plus Free storage, the Eufy can’t be beat.

Excellent DIY Wireless Security Cameras

I recently installed the eufyCam 2C 2-Cam Kit. The kit includes a base station, two cameras, and wall mounts for those cameras. The cameras have rechargeable batteries that are advertised to last six months, and connect to the base station wirelessly.
The cameras can be managed and monitored via iOS or Android apps. Using the app, you can view recordings made by the cameras, or view the camera in realtime. Either way, there is audio. With clips, you can hear whatever the camera heard. I can hear birds and traffic clearly. When viewing the camera in realtime, you can both hear what the camera hears, and speak through the camera. For example, you can tell a visitor that you're out of town, or you can tell the pizza delivery driver you'll be there in a minute.
Video and audio quality are not what you'd want if you were producing a video of your kid's football game or your band's big debut, but they are fine for the intended purpose. The speaker in the camera, through which somebody on your porch would hear you speaking to them through the security system, is loud enough to be intelligible but not loud enough to wake the neighbors.
There is also a web interface that is a bit clunkier and may be missing some features, but does allow you to view the cameras and clips. I would only use the web interface as a backup option, though, as the apps have better camera and clip management functionality.
When I know the camera is going to pick up something I am doing, I tend to turn that camera off via my phone app. I am writing this review from my patio. I didn't want to waste battery or time with videos of myself at the back door or patio, so I turned that camera off for now. I will turn it back on when I go back inside. I also tend to delete video clips that just show me, each day. Videos are stored on the base station, unless and until you stream them to your device while off of your wifi network, in which case I guess they run through a streaming server. The base station has a 16gb capacity and advertises up to three months of storage, though that will depend greatly on amount of activity.
The base station is a rectangle that's about the same height as a smartphone. It needs to be plugged to the wall, and plugged via ethernet to your router or cable modem. Once it is configured, the cameras are set up by putting them within a few feet of the base station and letting them sync. Cameras are not as tall or wide as a typical smartphone, but are quite a bit thicker. Once the cameras sync, they are ready to be mounted wherever you choose.
No wiring is required for the cameras. They should be mounted in a location that is shielded from weather, for example, on a porch below the porch roof. To mount the camera, you put the sticker template that is included with the kit on the wall, and drill pilot holes through the two openings in the template. You then screw the mount base to the wall. A central piece that adds tension snaps into the base, and then an outer portion screws into the base. The outer portion has a ball that sits inside the tensioner middle piece. This allows the end of the mount, where the camera goes, to move somewhat without flopping loosely.
A minor complaint is that the base that you screw to the wall is plastic. I used a power drill to attach the first screw, and it shot right through the base and into the wall. I used a screwdriver after that and attached the bases by hand. It would be nice if the base was metal instead of plastic.
The camera simply screws on to the end of the mount. When it needs to be recharged, you would unscrew it and take it inside to plug to a USB charger. It uses the newer style of Micro USB to charge. Advertised battery life is six months. I have not used it long enough to verify that, but I can say that battery life will depend how much you use the camera. The one I tested the most is down to 97%, while the other camera still shows 100%, about four days in.
You can set cameras to show red LEDs while in operation. You can also choose what it does when it's too dark for normal visual use. The options are infrared, spotlight, or deactivated. The spotlight option is intended to be used when there is other lighting in the area, such as a porch light that is normally turned on at night. I use the infrared option at night. You also can set the camera to be more selective or less selective about what it records by identifying matching images. For example, on the more selective setting, you might get one 20-second clip of yourself going out the front door to check the mail. With the less selective setting, you might get two or three 60-second clips as you come and go checking the mail. This is a tradeoff about a more complete video record, which you may want in case of a crime or attempted crime, vs not filling all of your storage as quickly.
Cameras can be easily added if you want more than two.
The apps work really well, and I appreciate that there is a web interface, even if it is clunkier and lacks some features. I have an Apple TV, and I wish there was an app for Apple TV. There are ways to put the video on your television using Apple Home plus a $5 app, or through screen-mirroring your device, but I would prefer a simpler option. But that's not a major issue, since it's so easy to view and manage on your phone.
I like the ease of setup, ease of expansion, and absence of a monthly fee. So far, I don't see any major drawbacks. I plan to continue using the system and probably expand it to three or four cameras.
