Great video doorbell
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Eufy video doorbell is very flexible in that it can be wired to existing doorbell wiring or it can operate on battery power. The existing doorbell wiring will charge the battery or you can remove the doorbell and charge it with the home base. Since the battery lasts 6 months you don’t have to do that very often. The home base acts as a chime and also local storage. This model holds 16GB of video. My old doorbell took way too long to show who was at my door but this one is almost instantaneous. I don’t have to pay for a cloud storage plan but they do offer one. If my old doorbell allowed for local storage then the time to see who is at the door could be greatly improved. It would be nice if they provided faceplates that are different colors. The video is very good and clear but the zoom could be better. I like that I don’t get false motion alerts like I did with my old video doorbell. The human detection AI circuitry does work well but I thought the face detection feature would allow you to be notified if a stranger is at the door or someone that lives in my house. It does not. Overall it’s a very good doorbell with some features that could be improved a little.
