    Hello i've had this doorbell now for a month and a half. Its been charged 3 times.. Settings are set for "longest battery life" nope don't last more than 3 weeks before needed charged. My old ring would last 4 months in the exact same location.. what gives? Out of my return window so thats out. Also note.. if your doorbell faces the sun at any point it WILL overheat and shut down! Eufy's tech support solution... "Hook it up to power and it will stay on"... Really its a battery powered unit if i had wires I wouldn't have it! So unless you have a door in your house that won't stay open (makes a great $200.00 door stop) I suggest you buy "Another Brand" ohh the one star is for not having to have a subscription.. that part works fine!

    horrible battery last for 15-20 days max on least battery usage setting for a not busy front door home. Customer service is absolutely unhelpful. Best buy will not take return after 15 days and it takes longer than that to get a true feel for the product, so even if you want to try it out definitely don't buy from best buy. lots of lag and delay when trying to talk to person at the door. I am stuck with it and want to throw it in trash. not worth the money, pay a bit more and go buy a better brand.

    Exceptional Feature Packed Video Doorbell Option

    I have always been interested in owning a video doorbell. I really liked the specifications of the Eufy 2K wired and battery WiFi doorbell with Homebase so I was excited to give it a try. Everything you need for installation is in the box. Included is the doorbell, Homebase, setup guide, power adapter, ethernet cable, usb charging cable, mounting template, mounting plate, mounting wedge, screws, anchors, chime cable, Eufy security sticker, and a doorbell detaching pin. Upon removing the doorbell from the box I was immediately surprised but pleased with the weight and quality of the Eufy. I grabbed the quick start guide and jumped into installing the doorbell. You’re instructed to first connect the Homebase to the internet. The Homebase unit is multifunctional and operates as the doorbell chime, video clip storage solution, and alarm, I quickly recognize the value of having video clips stored at home and for free instead of in the cloud and for a monthly fee. This is a huge plus for the Eufy. I hooked the Homebase to my router and soon enough the homebase actually spoke and told me it was connected to the internet. Great feature. Next you are directed to download the Eufy Security app and follow the apps instructions. You first have to register your account and then you proceed to add up the homebaseto the app. Here you simply scan a QR code on the bottom of the Homebase and then you press a sync button on the rear of the Homebase. The app then prompted to install an available firmware update. This update took roughly five minutes to install. Your next step is to add the doorbell to the app. You press the sync button the rear of the doorbell and the Homebase emits a sound wave to detect and add the doorbell. Pretty cool. Here I did have to try twice since my first attempt was unsuccessful. You’re next prompted to charge the doorbell before mounting it outside. I opted to just forge ahead. The installation steps this far were a breeze. Anyone could easily do so without being intimidated. The next step was to physically mount the Eufy 2K doorbell outside. They suggest mounting at least 48 inches high. There is a wonderful live view feature in the app at this point which makes positioning so simple. Here you just hold the doorbell while it transmits live video to your phone so you can quickly determine perfect placement. Included is a mounting wedge that you can use to additionally get the ideal view. I opted to use the wedge to angle the view to cover my front porch perfectly. Very glad the wedge was included. Once you determine your placement there is an included mounting template sticker that you stick on the location. You simply drill the two holes as indicated on the sticker and place the anchors if needed. Once the mounting plate and wedge were in place you simply snap the doorbell into the plate. I was pleased how secure it felt once in place. To remove it later to charge the Eufy battery there is a special detaching pin included. The battery says it lasts six months on a full charge so you won’t need to do this often. I would estimate the entire setup and installation of the Eufy 2K took me just shy of an hour. Most of that time was me just debating optimal placement. Once installed I jumped into the Eufy settings. I first setup geofencing since that’s how I will use it. Geofencing uses the location of your cell phone to determine when you’re at home or away and enables or disables motion detection accordingly. Of course even with geofencing enabled the doorbell still prompts when someone presses the doorbell button. You can also opt for scheduling when the motion detection is enabled or disabled. Another great feature of the Eufy is its ability to detect between a human and a pet. I know I appreciate this feature since my cat has a habit of scratching at the front door when she wants in. I’m glad I won’t get constant alerts when it’s just the cat. I then moved on to setup the Eufy 2K with Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit. You can also integrate with Amazon Alexa too. I did manage to easily setup my Google Home to be able to view Eufy doorbell video. Very sweet. However I did have issues getting it setup with HomeKit. I’m still struggling to figure out why Eufy won’t appear in HomeKit even after following the setup instructions. I next wanted to setup activity zones for the doorbell motion detection. I wanted to exclude motion detected from the street in front of my house in order to avoid constant alerts. This process is easy. You simply drag a boundary within a live view of the camera to include or exclude desired areas of your cameras view. Great feature! There are a ton of additional other settings that you can set to your liking within the app. Another one I love is the ability to answer the door with a recording if you like. You can customize this within the app. Of course you can also just talk to whoever rings your doorbell through the app while viewing them live on camera. Upon really using the app and doorbell I was very pleased with video quality and resolution of 2650x1920. The color saturation is also very good. I must say I am thoroughly pleased with the performance of the Eufy 2K video doorbell. This device is a feature packed doorbell security solution. Highly recommended.

    Misses events regularly and buggy software

    After trying Nest and Ring, I finally settled on Eufy for a camera system. Nest was by far the best, but Google has their ecosystem too secluded from other smart home systems. Ring has had it's string of privacy issues, which is why I liked Eufy's local storage. After using the doorbell for 4 months, it continuously misses when deliveries are made in front of it, both in daylight and at night. The app has needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times due to not getting any alerts when the doorbell is rung. The battery indicator comes on and seems depleted even when properly wired. Overall, it's good enough when it works, but deserves 1 star since it becomes not worth having when it's not always capturing when people are at the door.

      In regards to the issue of missing movement, please try the following steps to see if the issue persists:
      1.Set the “Motion defection” to be “All motions” and adjust the “Detection sensitivity” to the highest.
      2.Delete the “Activity Zone” if you have set it.

      If it doesn’t help, please provide the following information to find the root cause. We are more than happy to assist you further.
      1. A picture to show the position where you want to trigger the doorbell.
      2. The exact time point when the doorbell missed to capture the movement. Such as September-18 at 14:00.
      3. Please download any video from the app and send it to us.

      As for the issue of notification, let's see if the following steps are helpful:
      1."doorbell ring"&"motion detect" is enabled under notifications:side menu>my devices>notification
      2. "push notification" is enabled under home&away mode: security(at the lower right corner of the main page)>home/away
      3. Add to unmonitored apps: phone device management>battery>unmonitored apps>add apps>select and add eufy Security.

    Been wanting a smart vídeo doorbell for a long time. Glad I finally decided to get one. No sooner did I hook it up but the wires attached to the pole in front of my home get ripped down and caught on footage. Love the way it never misses a beat on catching the person’s face who is approaching my door. It has a technology that recognizes the distance needed to ensure the person’s face is clear and within a good range. I can finally see who my mail carrier is, since there have been issues with giving holiday gifts and not knowing who is the main one. Now every day I can distinguish one mail carrier from the other. The sound quality is good and I can hear those speaking near the sidewalk. The mic allows for interaction between you (inside) and the person ringing the bell. This is especially helpful during times when you don’t want to open the door out of fear of robbery or during times of sickness or inclement weather. The night vision works amazing because my porch is very dark at night with the light off and I kept it off to test it and it recorded as if there were a very bright light on the porch. Also, there’s an infrared light that stays on so the person outside can find the doorbell if it’s dark on the porch. They cannot see a bright light that lights up to take the picture or video footage. The doorbell sound is great and you can adjust the volume. At first we decided to to with the battery feature because we thought it would difficult to wire it to the existing bell....we set it up as battery, but then hard wired it and forgot to change it from battery to wired and to do so we’d have to remove the doorbell from it’s case and press a sync button on the back to sync it with the base. We decided to leave it alone because our home’s wiring is old and we didn’t want to keep removing and reinstalling the doorbell to the place the old doorbell was at. Lots of cool features with the touch of a button on the App. Some devices may not have the ability to download the app and so you need to ensure you find a compatible device to download the app to. We are using an apple mini ipad. At first it gave me a hard time to use features for using the better quality picture but at some point after troubleshooting several times, the mini ipad decided to join the party. The footage at night looks black and white and not as clear as daytime but enough to recognize the person. I changed the setting from human (in this setting it will only record footage with fuman forms moving) on first day to motion. Now cars driving by trigger the camera to turn on and record which is great because my neighbor’s car tends to hit the retainer wall causing the stones to move and sometimes they say it wasn’t then but now I’ll have proof. So there are features you can choose so that you can decide between human, animal, etc and depending on where you live (how much street traffic you get, or whether you get bears in your parts, you can set the doorbell to record accordingly. When the doorbell rings, the device gets notified instantly and I can choose to answer via voice and listen to the person answer me back or I can select from preinstalled messages to be spoken to the person by the app. For example, one message I can select will say, I will be right there...you get it. You can look back at different days and review and delete as you wish. It’s easy to use. We had an issue during setup and it took a few days to get on track because my husband insisted he charged it for the amount of time recommended, so when the bell wouldn’t sync with device and I got an error message that it could be the battery, the Mr kept insisting the battery was charged and look for other troubleshooting issues. Guess what?! It was not charged enough for whatever reason because I insisted we charge it and afterwards the sync was smooth sailing. I don’t know how we lived without this device before now.

    Replace a reolink with this system. This one did not need any password or encryption which I though was odd to use my internet. The detection is not great as it uses AI tat determines whether to save and record or not. Most of the time, 80% this does not record until someone comes within 7 feet towards the doorbell. It does not pick up the sidewalk at all. Notification is good and so is the battery life so far after a month of use. The app is friendly and can be shared easily through Google assistant and with other in the family for use.

    It's Xmas time and I had to return this item as my brother got my mom a ring doorbell. So I go back to the store to return. The associate opens it and looks at the numbers. He asked me if I bought another 1 and put the wrong button in the box as the serial #'s didn't match thankfully the manager ended up assisting me but the CS rep was giving me a hard time about the return. I am writing to best buy corporate about this as to WHY would a product be shipped from the manufacturer with a different serial #. Great experience at best buy with the manager but the sales rep looked at me like I was lying. I like best buy but now when you buy electronics there tell them that you want to see the serial #'s on the product and the box.

    Poorly Designed Homebase 2

    Based on all the reviews I read, I really had a high expectation on the product. Best Buy has it on sale recently, and I picked up one yesterday. But I am now so disappointed. There is an annoying clicking noise coming from the Homebase 2 speaker all the time.
