Quick conclusion are the images from this doorbell camera are very clean and the lighting is well exposed. Audio is very clear too. It was easy to set up and mount the base and doorbell. You set them up in that order. Works well for motion detection and notifications via app. I like this better than my Ring doorbell it replaced and other Ring cameras I have. Now for the details. The doorbell camera talks to a base unit and not directly connect to your router via WiFi. The Base talks to your router. The Base can store up to 16GB of video from the camera. You can get a EUFY pay account and store online if you want also. The Base has a speaker and microphone to let you talk through it as well as the phone app. Works well with my Alexa Show 8 units. Set up is through Alexa Skills and you link the account. Set up is very easy as the app will "talk you through it" so to speak. You set up the base first and then the doorbell. Note that you will need to be able to have the doorbell close enough to the base for it to hear a tone during setup. So don't mount it until after you set everything up and it's working. That way you mount it once. ;-) The setup info and guides show the base being on a table in the same room with the router and that's probably what most people will do but not in my case. My router is in my basement mounted on a wall in the middle of the house. This works too but bear in mind that you will have to run an ethernet cable from the base to your router. If you want the base close by it could be a long cable run for some. I just put the base close enough to the router to use a 6 foot CAT 6 cable. No problems. One thing I really like about the EUFY is it's fast to pull up my Android phone app. Especially if my phone is on WiFi at home. As little as 3 seconds that way!! I'm certain that this is because it's going to my router and to my phone directly from my router as opposed to going through the internet before it gets to my phone whether I'm on WiFI on my or not. Ring is very slow to come up on the its app Wifi or otherwise. As I stated earlier, the video from the doorbell is very clear. Lighting is good too and the audio is clean. The specs for the video is a little higher than FHD. QHD I believe. It's noticeably sharper and cleaner. You can double tap the screen (phone app) to magnify or pinch-pull to zoom in even more. Like you would a photo. The only problem I had was a password problem linking to Alexa. I called EUFY and got someone on the phone in less than 5 minutes! Described the problem and they explained what happened and reset my password and all has worked perfect since. Here's what the problem was: The password on the app is what the system uses exclusively. That is to say if you go to EUFY's website on your PC and change your password it does Not affect the password used in the app. It will not change it. The app and website DO Not share info. They are separate. Beyond that it's been perfect. Customer support was First Rate too. Person was polite and knowledgeable of the product. The latter is as important as anything else about the product. I would highly recommend this product and company based on my experience with them as of writing this review.

I was excited for this as it was promised as one of the first apple homekit doorbells (advertised as homekit coming soon). Turns out they decided not to add that compatibility so this thing is basically useless to me. Their own app is awful, streaming is laggy and SLOW to start the video feed, and the doorbell needs re-charging every month.

It worked fine for the first year. Now it is 1.5 years from the date of purchase and the batter runs only for a week and speaker (voice) on the door bell does not work. Such a poor quality of product for this price. Never recommend to buy this.

I wanted to try Eufy security devices, but the video doorbell had so much lag time that it was useless. It wasn't my wifi. Also, the built-in 16GB is a shame. It should have been made upgradeable at least.

I love my Eufy Video Doorbell. Right out of the box I was impressed by its looks and a very solid feel. The unit is heavier than it appears, and seems very well built. The Eufy Video Doorbell has a sleek and modern look. Set up For me set up was quick and easy, with the mounting hardware all included in the box. Not having to run down to the local hardware store is definitely a plus. I already own a Eufy system for which I'm running two internal cameras in my home. Connecting to the network was very straightforward as I already had a Home Base that was up and running, as well as the Eufy Security app. All I had to do was add the Video Doorbell to my homebased via the Eufy Secuirty app. It was literally a click or two and the Video Doorbell camera was added and paired. Install If you've ever drilled a hole in your wall, you will find that mounting this unit will pose no problems for you. You can either install it with your existing wiring or just use it with its internal batteries which are meant to last up to 6 months. I installed my Video Doorbell and did not utilize my existing home power supply. In my particular installation I did not find it necessary to use the "wedge" which was company supplied. For those consumers that are unfamiliar with the "wedge", it is a device which can angle the Video Doorbell to capture more foot traffic or people standing in front of your door. Simply put, it points your Video Doorbell in the proper direction. Motion Detection The motion detection for this unit is adjustable. The consumer will have to test which setting will work best for their particular homes or apartment. Camera Both video and film clips captured in 2K HD were stellar. Awesome clarity is the word. Super clear pictures. Even if your subject was located in the shade and there was bright sunlight at their back (for example), pictures were great. The field of view is more than adequate for the location of my Video Doorbell. You also have the option of viewing live with this device. App I have an iPhone XS which worked perfectly with the Eufy app. I found the app to be well laid out and highly responsive. Notifications to my phone were immediate and without delay. Storage This system comes with an internal 16 GIG of storage, which means that there are no charges to the user for storage. No need to pay for the "cloud". Audio This device allows you the option of having two way audio. I wish that the sound level could be adjusted louder, even though I have the device set on maximum. Advanced AI This device can distinguish human bodies and can rule out false alarms (when set on "Humans") which can be generated by animals and moving objects. Conclusion This product is high on my recommended list. With easy installation, great video / still photos, instant notifications, great app, no storage fees, you won't be disappointed! Picture and video quality are outstanding for both day and nighttime use. You'll be happy with this product.

I already had a video doorbell from another brand, but I decided to swap it out for this Eufy one instead. This was based on two key features: 1) it's wired and battery and 2) it has its own internal storage. Both of these features were new to me, and I had not seem them as options for other brands' video doorbells. I had a handyman come help me install. He told me it was straightforward, I just choose to have the professional do this sort of thing. The Eufy doorbell provides the basic features you'd expect, excellent video resolution, weatherproof (which is good, it gets hot where I am!), real time responses, and it works with my Google Home. But back to my favorite features. First, I love that this is wired and has a battery. Most of the time, wired is my preferred option because I don't have to worry about charging it. However, if the power goes out, so does my camera. I love having the backup option in the battery. Also, with most video doorbells, in order to save any actual security footage, you have to pay a monthly subscription for cloud storage space. The Eufy includes free 16GB of local storage. Obviously, 16GB is not a huge amount when we're talking about video, but it is still pretty impressive and I love having that option. Overall, very happy and recommend.

INSTALLATION The installation of the Eufy doorbell and the Eufy HomeBase 2 (Eufy is a division of Anker) was very simple. Anyone that has installed a "smart" doorbell before will have no issues with installation. Using either the supplied rechargeable battery or your existing doorbell wires expands the installation options and eases restrictions should you not have both options available. Installation of the HomeBase 2 via the Android App was fairly smooth, but not without its faults. Documentation is minimal, but sufficient. I connected my HomeBase 2 via an ethernet connection for maximum reliability, but it is also able to be connected to your home network via WiFi should you so choose. The Android app and supported documentation didn't cover how to connect the HomeBase 2 to your wireless network very clearly, and hooking up the HomeBase 2 via ethernet, seemed to confuse the app during set-up. Again, not a huge issue, but not a seamless, issue-less experience that should be expected from a company as consumer focused as Anker. Once I worked through the hiccups with the getting the HomeBase 2 up and running, the actual connection to the doorbell was very slick and completely pain free. The HomeBase 2 emits and audible statement, that the doorbell must be able to hear. Just a word of warning for those wanting to use the doorbell hardwired. I recommend fully charging the doorbell’s battery before installing. Using this method will ensure enough charge in the doorbell to bring it in close enough to the HomeBase 2 so that it can "hear" the HomeBase 2. Once the doorbell hears the HomeBase 2, all is done and linked up. Again, easy and pain free, but just be aware that the pair will have to be close enough "hear" each other prior to final installation. USE The doorbell connects to the HomeBase 2 wirelessly. Like I stated earlier, my HomeBase 2 is connected to my network via an ethernet cable. Any events / recordings captured by the doorbell are transmitted wirelessly to the HomeBase 2 and encrypted using a 256 bit AES encryption algorithm. A clever and wise solution for Anker. The ability to store your recordings locally and not have them, and your account, potentially breached like their competitor's did is a huge bonus for the end user. Those events and recordings are easily accessible via the EufySecurity app. You aren't required to have a cloud storage account to take advantage of the remote access to your doorbell. The app will connect to your HomeBase 2 and automatically log you in allowing full access to any activity captured. Very slick. Here is the issue with the Anker solution. The HomeBase 2 saves its recordings on a proprietary eMMC drive housed within the HomeBase 2. The storage is fixed at 16GB with no option to expand. As of this review, my doorbell has recorded a total of 11 events, using .17GB of the total 14.7GB available. This is my main rub. While there is no way to add additional storage at the device, Anker is more than happy to sell you a subscription-based service, just like their competitors. That, to me, defeats some of the purpose of the Anker solution. With the limited storage on the device, adding more cameras, doorbells, etc will just fill the HomeBase 2 up that much quicker. There is also no option to automatically delete the oldest recordings (at least not easily found yet). The touted Sony 2k HDR image sensor does work very well. Images are crisp and clear in both daylight and night. The Sony sensor supports resolutions of 2560 x 1920 at 15 fps. vs Anker's main competitor’s Pro model (that I also own) at 1920 x 1080. Side by side comparisons between the Eufy and their main competitor's model show a more consistent, even night image with the Eufy. Their main competitor has more "hot spots" on their image, while the Eufy is more consistent and less prone to image flair. Faces are brighter and easier to see against a bright background. This is a big improvement over their competitor’s Pro model. FINAL THOUGHTS The hardware appears to be very well designed and thought out. The doorbell and HomeBase 2 work very well together. Hardware installation was easy and well documented. The Sony image sensor provides a very good image both during the day and at night. The doorbell feels just as well built as the Eufy's primary competitor. One thing that Eufy totally wins the game with is battery life. The Eufy can go up to 6 months on a charge. I have installed several of Eufy's competitor's doorbells and none have given battery life anywhere close to the Eufy. Job well done. Even with the excellently designed hardware, the lack of expandability of the HomeBase 2, I feel, is a huge miss. The whole point of this ecosystem is the ability to store your information locally, without the need for a cloud account. 16GB on a proprietary storage system without room for expansion is a no-go. Additionally, just like Eufy's competitors, Eufy also does not provide you a way to expand your storage to an existing device on the network either (NAS, Networked HDD, PC, etc). The software has proven to be reliable. Even with the minor hiccup during installation, the software is intuitive and easy to manipulate without much effort. The software alerts notify you of the type of alert (human or other) and even show you a quick snapshot of the face of the person, if it can. Very nice!! One item that doesn't appear to be fully baked is the "facial recognition" AI. This was a huge selling point for Anker, it is all over the Eufy website. The software even says that the doorbell has the ability to utilize the AI, but there is no known way to take advantage of it. I can't get the software to "store familiar faces to minimize false alarms". Turning to the interwebs revealed others are also experiencing similar issues with the much-touted AI. I was able to successfully and easily integrate my Eufy with my Echo smart devices. Very well-done Anker. The Eufy will sound the doorbell chime through all my Echo devices when the doorbell is rung. Cool. That is a great solution compared to using my old school chime. You can also use your Echo Shows or Google Assistants to display the image at the doorbell. That is a great feature. Unfortunately, the great feature is a little tempered by the lengthy time required to get the image to the Echo Show. It takes approximately 18 seconds from the time you request the image, to the time the Echo can retrieve the feed and display it. In the end, I give the Eufy doorbell a solid 4-star rating. It does everything just as well as its competitor does, but does not mandate the end user use an online, cloud account. That is a huge plus. The motion zones are just as easy to configure, the false alarm detection are just as good if not better. The app is not quite as easy to use as Eufy's primary competitor, but it can easily be updated, even so, as is, it isn't hard to use and find your way around. Anker just needs to fully implement their “facial recognition” AI to complete the package.

This thing works perfect. I didn't even have to set up zones. It ignores vehicles and records people only with the "Human Only" setting active. I have a street 30 degrees left and a parking lot 30 degrees right and it's never had a false positive. I'm actually quite shocked at how well behaved it is. Records my neighbors walking dogs and crapping on the lawn and them picking up after the dogs. Records comings and goings of people and deliveries perfectly and with exceptional clarity using all max quality settings. Battery lasts about 60 days between charges with my settings which is optimal surveillance. Switching to Balanced to see if it improves the time between charges. But i'm actually fine with 60 days. This is one of the best items i've bought in quite a few years.

This video ball has a very nice picture. I like the concept of a homebase with the memory card in it to avoid paying monthly fees for storage. But the memory drive should have been at least 64 gbs. And for me the biggest negative factor for this item is the fact that it does not detect motion more than 5 to 6 feet away, daytime or night time even at the most sensitive setting. I called eufy customer support ( which by the way took 90 mins for a representative to come online) to ask if there is a way to make motion detection further? I was basically was told that the only thing to do was what I did which was to set it at the highest sensitivity. Because of this I will be returning this product. I had really had hoped this product would work for me after much research. Ohh well, back to drawing board.

Things I think others should know...Great camera, no problems with that. Had a issue with it now not syncing back with homebase and found out some interesting things. Did not know that if the camera is offline or damaged or stolen, you lose all your footage. I thought the homebase stored or backup your footage from the camera but once the camera is gone, so is your footage unless you get cloud service. And if the doorcam is stolen, the company do not replace it, it can be replace through you claiming it on your insurance. But that would suck because if the cam is stolen and you didn't have it back up on cloud service, then you could not retrieve footage of the person who did it, to give to the police. *sigh* Free 16 GB of LOCAL storage only if the camera is working and not offline, yes even offline you can't retrieve footage til you get it the camera back on.

I am blown away at the quality of the camera and the sound of the neat speakers. It took about 15 minutes to set up. The biggest issue is they use crappy screws to fasten the brackets. The camera picks up images almost instantly and communicates to me immediately. Easy to setup app and link others to the account. AND no fees to hold clips. Buying anything else is just silly.

Eufy 2k Battery Powered Video Doorbell not workin

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I like the product. But 2k video doorbell (battery powered) does not keep charge, is over-stimulated with detection, the app does not note ALL these detections. Eufy working on problem but selling product well-knowing these issues and informed it would be two months before detection issues solved. I’m talking about well over one thousand detections but app shows only 13 in 4 days. You will have to set camera on least sensitive option that picks up just few detections daily in order to get 6 months. You will not be able to tell why camera is de-charging because detection info is false info. Also, I’ve already had replacement from Eufy. Same issues and refuse to replace white (original purchase) with white....sent black. Disappointing. Customer service decent & responsive people, better than the doorbell right now. Need fix issues immediately to get my ‘5’ review.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It's unusual for this product to be acting like this, and we'd love to get you what you need!

In most common scenarios, a fully charged doorbell can last for 180-day. Eufy battery doorbell test was done in the following conditions:
      1. Temperature: 68°F (20°C).
      2. 10 motion detections per day.
      3. Recorded for 30 seconds each time motion was detected.
      4. Standby power consumption was included during usage time.

Battery life varies, depending on the number of times motion is detected, recording time duration, and environmental temperatures. We appreciate your understanding.

I have had three videp doorbells and they were all returned. I was hoping the eufy would be different but It also falls short. the doorbell itself is huge and is glossy and it just looks bad. connecting to the home base went ok but when I get a motion notification on my phone and tap on it it says doorbell not found. very frustrating. wifi connections between the doorbell, homebase and router are unreliable even though it says wifi good. the video quality is what disappointed the most. it's not bad but bright background images are washed out.

Abysmal Battery Life, Hardwiring doesn't work

Battery doesn't last more than 2 weeks even with optimized setting, far off from claimed 6 months. Hard-wiring the doorbell to continuously charge the battery is not working.
