Works great but box makes it sound like there’s a spot light on the camera and there is no spot light on the camera.

Eufy has to be the most efficient and effective cameras i have ever had.

David did an outstanding job of explaining and installing my motion detector. He answered all of my questions and was very patient. Total satisfaction. I would recommend David to any Best Buy customer.

Please do not waste your money. Put one of these in my driveway pointing directly at my car and it was ransacked about a week later. I got zero notifications and the camera did not detect anyone. But if a bug flies past it will get that every time.. All I had in my home was Eufy. Never again. The product has gone way down hill. There are other brands a lot cheaper that do a way better job. Please don’t waste your money.

I’ve had these cameras for a little over a year. One was replaced by Eufy for water intrusion within the 1 year warranty. Another camera now has the same issues but is out of warranty. A third, after working fine for a year has started to experience a fast draining battery despite optimal settings, Again out of warranty.

The Eufy wire-free stand alone security spotlight camera with integrated solar panel is a wonderful security camera, i enjoy the live view through the eufy app, it goes with instant notification, the advance person detection works good, not to mention that it has an activity zone to reduce the false notifications, overall good purchase, got it on sale.

Great Product. Never loses a charge and keeps my home protected.

This is my first Eufy camera and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I've been pleasantly surprised. It was fairly easy to setup and install, and it's worked well so far. I get motion alerts and the battery has remained at 100% during the day after dipping down to 98% overnight. I have it facing south and tilted down slightly, so that's definitely optimal for charging. The Eufy docs say 2 hours of sunlight will charge it and from what I've seen that seems believable. Best of all, the 2K video is crystal clear and detailed--much better than what I've been used to. I live out in the country and I've installed this at my entrance gate which is nearly 300' from the wifi router in my house. The camera only supports 2.4GHz and that made it slightly more difficult to do the initial setup, but that also gives it excellent range. Even 300' outside of my house it's getting several bars and seems to stay connected just fine. The camera has infrared for night, and it makes for pretty clear video even out 50' or more. In addition, the camera has a visible light spotlight if you want to use that to see things in color at night. I've chosen not to have the light come on automatically (I'd prefer to keep the camera less conspicuous since it's down at my gate), but it's nice to have that option if I need it later. The audio works surprisingly well, too. Some neighbors were having a loud party one night about 1/4 mile away, and you could pretty clearly hear the music and noise in the video clips. Unlike the other camera systems I've had, the Eufy stores the videos locally on the camera and not in the cloud. I'm sure this keeps their costs down and makes it so a subscription isn't needed, but I don't think that necessarily makes it more secure. The camera has 8GB of onboard storage which should be plenty. The downside with local storage is if someone decides to steal your camera. At least maybe you'll have the thumbnail image of them taking it, though. It also has onboard AI to only alert on what it thinks are people. In my case, I'm interested in animals and vehicles, too, so I left it on all motion detected. I did try the humans-only, though, and it was fooled at night by a reflective sign and some critter that ran underneath. Still, if you wanted that setting it would cut down on a lot of non-human motion alerts. There are a couple of things I do wish were better, like including more options for mounting it. For example, a magnetic mount has always been very useful with my other cameras. This one just comes with the screw-mounted base. Lastly, I can't seem to slide forward and backward in time while playing a recorded video. I'm sure that could be changed in the app, but for now I have to finish the whole video and then start over if I want to re-watch something. I plan to keep testing this for another few weeks. Unless I run into some problem, I like the S40 enough that I may buy a couple more for other locations. After having to keep the batteries charged in multiple outdoor cameras over the years, I'm excited to finally have a decent solar-powered option. Plus, it's also time to upgrade to some sweet 2K video.

This cameras will turn slowly into garbage after 1 year … they advertised this product as forever power but the camera will not last 2 years

I have had it about a month. If mounting it on the gutter as I did using a gutter mount, be careful, only works straight out. I wanted to mount it on the side but the camera is a lot wider so it would not work.

The eufy solar security cam gives clear videos, notifications, and a spotlight for security. It is easy to install and the app works great. No subscription is required to use and retain video history. The camera tilts and has a wide view. Linking to Google devices was simple and works great. Set up in the app didn't take long. The reason for taking one star is more about my setup, but others may not have the problem I do. I wanted this camera because of the solar power. Not having to take the camera down to recharge was a big plus in my opinion. However, I ran into a problem trying to find a spot on the house high enough to capture the full area I wanted and having the solar panel in full sun for at least 2 hours a day to charge it. I have a roof overhang and guttering. Tall trees on the east side and back of the house. By the time the sun gets over the trees, it's high enough to cast a shadow on the house due to the guttering. If my only concern was the front of the house and the driveway in front of the carport I could install it at ~7 ft. high and it would be fine. However, I have a doorbell that covers that area and does fine. I wanted this to cover the area beyond that where our 2nd vehicle is parked. I could not install it on one side of the carport because of a shed blocking the view. The other side does not allow me to install high enough to view the area while also getting enough sunlight to charge. So, I've installed this to the back deck that overlooks the backyard and continue to use my non-solar security cam in the front. Not exactly the setup I desired, but it is giving me added coverage while not having to worry about charging the battery. As I said, that's a problem with my setup, may not be yours. Just something to consider.
