Works great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a three level apartment and have to carry this vacuum up and down stairs. It's not heavy. I also have two cats and it picks up the cat hair better than others. The power cord is retractable into the vacuum so it's easy to put away. It's very easy to empty the container but cleaning it out takes awhile depending on how much you have in it.

several design flaws that make the vacuum awkward
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this vacuum since 12/2013. I have gotten used to the pet attachment falling off if I accidentally hit it while vacuuming. The on/off switch is too close to the button to release the bottom section so that you can do floors. The on/off switch is also in the way when you go to put the cord around the back of the vacuum. The switch would have been better placed on the handle extension away from everything else. The other part of this vacuum that drives me crazy is that there is a switch to go from floor suction to tool wand suction. The problem is that you can release the vacuum to do the floors and the spinner will go and not be suctioning anything. Have done complete rooms and the rug looks like it was vacuumed, but it was only brushed by the brush. You have to make sure that if the last person was using the tool setting that you switch it back before you do floors. My Hoover automatically switched it to floors whenever I used the floor release button and the wand only worked for tools if in the upright position. Eureka should reconsider this part of their design. The dirt compartment is difficult to clean completely because the very center piece doesn't come apart to allow it to be cleaned. Can use a bottle brush to clean most of the dirt. As far as suction, it is a 5. If you just want to vacuum floors all day, this is a great vacuum. If you switch between tools and floors, it can get cumbersome.

The Vacuum That Can!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to get this vacuum because it had good reviews and it was cheap. When I moved into my new to me house, this vacuum pulled three containers of cat hair out of the small living room. This is after I vacuumed the entire house with my Shop-Vac. Fast forward, I am in the middle of remodeling a bathroom and my Shop-Vac goes belly up. Like a typical man, I grab the household vacuum from the closet. It took a little longer but got the job done sucking up all of the nasties. She did ask why there was a nail in the container the next time she vacuumed. Busted! There are a few parts to it that feel cheap, but for the price, I cannot complain too much. Finally, the self winding cord feature is a big time saver. Press a button and it sucks the cord back in. (see what I did there) Say for example, it takes a minute to wind a cord by hand. If you vacuum once a week for a year, you have saved almost an hour of your life NOT winding a cord. I have terrible allergies and the filter was another selling point. I no longer feel terrible after vacuuming because the filter does its job. Do yourself and your wallet a favor. Skip the expensive, big name vacuum and get this one. Chances are you will be surprised.

Very well rounded vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I shopped for quite a while before landing on this vacuum. Initially we were not considering this vacuum because we wanted to stick to a budget. However, after using this one in store and seeing how it performed we were impressed with it and unimpressed with lower priced vacuums. Our first experience using it at home was quite an eye opener to say the least. This vacuum was pulling more dirt and hair up from our carpet that we had any idea was possible. Our previous vacuum did a great job at cleaning the surface of our carpet but this vacuum goes much much deeper. The adjustable SuctionSeal feature works incredibly well and has seven different settings. We have tile, hardwood, and the aforementioned carpet and being able to adjust the vacuum to clean all three is a must for us. I was intially skeptical that it would make a dramatic difference; however, after using it on all three and adjusting the seal accordingly, I was a believer. This vacuum also has a great feature to switch immediately between floor and tool cleaning. The included wand extension makes it a snap to clean ceilings, light fixtures or fans. The pet attachment does a great job as well. We used it on our fabric couch and loveseat with great results. It probably isn't the most effective tool ever at removing pet hair but it does the job well. We don't allow our dog to get on the couch so it never really gets terribly dirty but I would imagine pet owners who do or with extreme issues might find it lacking somewhat. Best of all, when you're finished cleaning you can just hold a button and retract the cord automatically. No more cord wrapping or knots!!! I do have a few, albeit minor, gripes about this vacuum, all of which are, in my opinion, design miscues. The foot operated on/off switch can be a bit difficult for me (tall, large feet# to work with the wand stored. Also, the roller brush on/off rocker switch is a bit difficult to operate by foot #our previous vacuum had a switch located at the top of the vacuum). Finally, the SuctionSeal has to be adjusted by hand and is located at the bottom of the vacuum so it's not possible to adjust it immediately while cleaning. Like I said, minor issues. In summary, this vacuum is going to happily do just about anything you ask of it and do it pretty well. No buyers remorse here.

overall great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the low profile that goes under furniture and the suction is great. The tools are easier to take apart than put together, I expected that. But that magnet on the pet attachment is inept and it constantly falling off. I have to keep it separate and when I need it I have to go back and get it. Once in a while hard to wind up cord and the on off switch is hard to see since the unit hides it from the top and it's very high to just reach with one's foot. Moves around easily.

Eureka does it again!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so, I used to be a bissel guy. always thought bissel was the way to go. Then I bought the eureka boss 4d pet vacuum. after having this vacuum for just under 2 years it was time for another one. however I was not able to find this model anymore so like anyone else I did some homework. checked some other models and prices but couldn't find one I liked except this one. my local store was out of stock so I went ahead and ordered it. took 3 days considering I placed the order on sunday. shipping was free thanks to best buys elite plus member bennys!! which was a whopping 35$ savings that I didn't have to pay for shipping costs. Might I mention I also got this vacuum for only 99.00$... due to price matching and doing my homework! The vacuum ROCKS! I used my old eureka just one last time and then hit the carpet with my new one... The new one picked up a TON of dog hair! now many may think that well of course it's a 2 year old vac rite? sure. but once a month I take my vacuum apart and clean the whole thing inside and out. The vacuum also says multi use. like as in barefloors. LOL yeah rite! every vac I've tried to use on the bare floor kicks and spits the dirt all over the floor everywhere. NOT with this vac! due to the suction seal tech thingy they got going on it sucks it rite up! so then we just had to mess around and see just how well this bad boy does. so I scattered some cat litter on the kitchen floor. she sucked all of it up without kicking it all over the place and I had the beater bar spinning as well. o and almost forgot. the head of the vac has a very low profile so you can buzz under the couch about 3-4 inches you need a vac that doesn't mess around and cleans with no B.S. this is the vac you need

Amazing Vacuum!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When i purchased this vacuum, I was more interested in a Dyson, without the heavy cost associated with that brand. I have a lot of pets, so I knew I needed one that specializes in pet hair, and this one has surpassed my expectations. Assembly was not that fun. The instructions were not very specific, and I made a few mistakes, but luckily, they were easy to fix. My first run with the vacuum was not that good. I didn't realize that I had to push the bagless filter into the vacuum, to get good suction. Granted, within 35 seconds, the powerful suction does this for you, but I did not like that. After 3 months, it's sort of a ritual, and it doesn't bother me at all. I really enjoy the switch to chose if you are using the floor, or the hose. It gives you more suction, as opposed to using suction for both, at the same time. The retractable cord is a really nice design. I like how easy it is, and I don't have to spend 5 minutes winding it up myself, but sometimes it does get stuck, and you have to re-do it.. If they put more room for the cord in the vacuum, this problem wouldn't happen. The suction is amazing. I have a dark area rug, which gets a lot of pet hair on it, often. I used this on half of it, and my neighbors Dyson on the other half, and you can't tell which one was the more expensive vacuum. The bagless feature scared me a little bit. Usually, with bagless vacuums, you have to empty it often, but the suction pushes the debris down, giving you more room for the rest of the fur to go. I usually only have to empty the vacuum after cleaning my whole house. The easy empty design is also very nice.

Great vacuum for the price

Excellent value, really sucks--LOL
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the vacuum on clearance today and was pleasantly surprised. The adjustability of the vacuum to hone in on the carpet height was a great feature. The motor is powerful and keeps up with the heavy cleaning without a problem. I like the retractable cord feature. It runs circles around my now broken Electrolux vacuum that weighed nearly 40 pounds and could only do bare floor or carpet settings, with no height adjustment. The can fills quickly because it works so well. It is easy to dump and keep going. My only gripes are that the cord is low on the machine. Use the loop behind the handle to keep it up so you don't trip over it. It also has a fairly short cord. The instructions were okay, but keep in mind that some assembly is required, and it wasn't intuitive. I struggled to find these mystery tabs to lock things in. The instructions appeared to apply to several different models. All in all, the best vacuum I have ever owned or used. I'd get it again in a heartbeat, but I better not have to. My spendy Electrolux burned out the roller motor in less than 4 years, and now it is basically a shop-vac.

Works great so far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this vacuum this evening, brought it home, assembled it & tried it out! It;s easy to put together, although the handle isn't very sturdy - may need hubby to make it 'click' together better. We have only 3 rooms & stairs with carpet, the rest of our floors are hardwood. This vacuum performs well on both types of surface. The pet tool is great on the stairs & pulled out a lot of construction dust #this is a new house#. We have a dog that sheds & 3 cats - so i vacuum daily :) It's on the heavier side - but I am used to a canister. However, they are a lot pricier to get similar features. Easy to empty. Would prefer all washable filters, but one needs to be replaced every 6 months. Will check out the cost of them during the return period! So far I am happy, but I will make the most of the 45 day return period to be sure that it meets my needs.

Solid Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always used Dirt Devils which have lost suction easily and then eventually broken down. Seeing as though I have three pets I decided to buy this vacuum. The suction is greater than a dirt devil and i like the way the tools have their own switch so that the suction power is diverted solely to the tools when you are using them. Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Great vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum works so great and is so much cheaper than Dyson. It is easy to clean. I love the pet attachemnt. It works great on the stairs and the couches. I do wish the main hose was longer, but that is the only downside. It is somewhat heavy carrying up the stairs.

good pet vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this vacuum for about a month now and so far it's a great investment. It has great suction - every time I vacuum, I see a ton of dirt/hair in the dust cup (I have 2 cats). It has a crevice tool, a brush tool, and a pet hair turbo brush tool, all of which are wonderful/very useful - I especially love the pet turbo brush tool! This tool is able to wonderfully gather pet hair off my microfiber chairs (which are magnets for fur). I also love the automatic cord rewind, and the dust cup is pretty easy to empty and the filters are easy to remove. So far I've had a great experience with this vacuum!

Finally... something that does the job RIGHT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a $400 Oreck vacuum I've had a few years now and to say that it has "lost it's touch" is an understatement... We have a long haired German Shepherd that sleeps on the floor in the bedroom. I had put my hand on the floor and a TON of hair was stuck to it and I had had enough! i went to Best Buy as I was looking for computer related items and saw the vacuum section. After standing there for 30 minutes (I kid you not) I finally decided that this was the best vacuum for my needs. Easy to put together, no tools required, although a but on the "heavy" side, i was hoping it was because it was heavy duty. After 6 passes over the carpet in our bedroom I was not only surprised to see the natural color of our carpet again (I had forgotten what it had looked like!) but i was even surprised that the vacuum was already about halfway full! Disgusting! That's when I knew, we had the right vacuum. Good Buy! (Best Buy would have just been shameless....)

Not easy to empty and keep clean
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is heavy vacuum to use. It needs another handle so it can be carried up and used on stairs. Very hard to empty canister-debris does not fall out, I have to reach up and pull it out. Tools fall off the machine. Requires cleaning of parts often to work properly.

Great Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything about the vacuum is great. The suction is just as good as a Dyson, but of course, it's only a quarter of the price. The only complaint would be that the brush and corner hose attachments on the back, tend to fall off while operating. Now this is absolutely no big deal. It's probably just mine anyway.

Easy to put together & start using out of the box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was stoked that this was easy assemble and start using. I was able to put together and use within 10min. I found the length of the cord very useful to hit all rooms from one socket. For a vacuum, its not that much louder than most and all of the functionality is great to have. Although it doesn't fit under some places, the extensions come in handy for that... Overall great product. WTG Eureka!

Love this vacuum!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I recently put laminate flooring down in our house. I felt like I could never keep it clean. We decided to purchase a new vacuum and it is amazing. We have two dogs who shed year round and you can't tell! It completely picks up all dog hair, dirt, and anything else that may end up on our floors. I have never used a vacuum that worked as well as this one does!

Awesome Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is the best one I've had so far. I love that it runs quiet but the pet tool on the other hand is really loud. I've had this vacuum for about a month and I've been using it daily and it is still picking up alot of dirt. The cord has never got hung up in the vacuum because it has a cord clip right behind the handle. I will be recommending this vac to everyone I know!!
