    I also own a firestick, 2 Nvidia Shields and 2 Xi boxes, i rank this at the bottom just below firestick, you get what you pay for. One positive is the remote.

    This remote doesn't work as well as the one we purchased last year. Don't care for the eye to be showing under the screen..

    The Roku stick needs to mounted on TV and in line of sight in order to receive the remote signal, that is the only disadvantage to this model. The previous older model that I had worked from behind the TV where plugged directly into the HDMI input

      Hello! Thank you for choosing our products. Some devices have a Simple Remote that lacks TV controls (Power and Volume), so you’ll need to use your TV remote for those functions. Currently, the only new Roku device available is the HD Roku Express and non-plus(+) models typically include a Simple Remote.     This Roku connects easy and I use it to stream for my cable provider so I don’t need to rent a cable box.

    I bought two of the Roku Express 4K+ to replace two of my older 2017 Streaming Stick 4K+. The problem I was having was with playing 4K content from any source including my Plex server. Even though they are 4K devices, 4K content would buffer for long periods of time and the ones that did load would error out after a few minutes of playing. I was hopeful that the updated device would be able to better encode the 4K content since it should have some updated specs, but unfortunately it still has the same problem. Over all if you just need a basic device, it’ll do the job, but just because it’s 4K doesn’t mean it will handle 4K content well. If you need an actual device that handles 4K content well and just works, buy an Apple TV, remember you get what you pay for.

      Hi Maximus, thanks for sharing your feedback with us. Streaming 4K content requires a strong wireless connection. Based on your description of the same issue on both the Streaming Stick+ and the Roku Express 4K+, it sounds like this could be the culprit.

      Other devices accessing your network, such as other streaming players, computers, game consoles, and mobile devices may effect the quality of your network connection. You might want to temporarily stop using any such device and check if that makes a difference.

      We recommend connecting to a 5GHz wireless network for improved network strength, if you haven't already. Alternatively, it may also help to manually change the wireless channel. (You can find more details about how to executive this linked in the FAQ article above).
