    I had to return this, as it gave me some errors regarding the HDCP and the HDMI port issue/screen issue.

    Having trouble pairing remote to tv. Will have to troubleshoot. This is about my sixth Roku device.

      Hi there, thanks for you feedback. It’s possible that the Roku device picked up the wrong code for your TV upon setup. Try repairing the remote walking through the steps in this support article:  https://support.roku.com/article/360004786894

      As a tip, if you're using an AVR or Soundbar with your TV, it's also important to check the status of a related setting called HDMI-CEC (or just CEC) and make sure it is enabled.

    WiFi problems

    WiFi kept disconnecting at random intervals. Returned it and bought the ULTRA. Much better.

    I absolutely hate this thing! I had to get out so i could watch Dallas Stars games and it freezes quite often, i will change inputs and it automatically keeps going back to the Roku, it never turns off so i have to unplug it every night, it is just a terrible product!

    Purchased to replace my Roku Stick that began to overheat ( yes tried all fixes and even extended the HDMI from TV) and just kept frezzing up. This was OK when New but these Updates again messed this one up. Trying to deal with Roku on issue still. I also dislike the Surround sound issues of their sometimes other times not..

    Intermittent black screen issue

    Had to return this - Recently started experiencing intermittent screen black outs (audio still working). Tried all online suggestions including factory reset. FYI - compared to older, basic ROKU stick, this is noticeably faster and eliminated “buffering” stalls.

      Sometimes, performing a system restart on the player can resolve this. Other times, you might need to uninstall and reinstall the affected channels, or check the status of your wireless connection. If this was only happening on one channel (app), it may be something that the channel's service provider can resolve with you directly.

    I'm not pleased with the Roku I purchased.I was hacked thru this Roku and all my GB's for the month of June were used up in a matter of a few days.I have had to purchase emergency GB's so I could at least access my email thru the rest of the month of June.I had no idea that the Roku could be hacked or I would have purchased protection immediately.I have disconnected the Roku completely from my tv.I won't be using it anymore.Of course, this is not the fault of Best Buy.I was ignorant to the fact that the Roku is a piece of equipment that needs protection from hackers.There was no warning on the box or in the pamphlet enclosed.

      For customers who have a limited number of gigabytes or data allotted each month, we have a few tips to offer! In order to end your streaming session and conserve data, you will need to select the Home button before powering off the TV. Otherwise, your player may continue to stream in the background and continue using data.

      As a safeguard, many customers also enable the "bandwidth saver" within you Roku settings. This will display a prompt asking you to confirm that you are still watching after 4 hours of inactivity on your Roku remote. To turn this on, go to Home >> Settings >> Network >> Bandwidth saver >> On.

    Not too impressed . Good when it actually connects. Sometimes the media player finds my WiFi but won’t connect to it frequently causing rebooting of the router and media player . Or trying to connect with the specific app such as YouTube tv and the app will sometimes find the connection and start working.

      If your router and Roku device both support 5GHz, you could also try connecting to the 5GHz wireless network for improved network strength.     Easy to hook up, but not so easy in actual use. 4 Stars due to difficulty I have every time I try to use it and for some reason it does not turn the TV on and off which means I need a second remote which I was hoping to avoid with this.

    I have an ongoing problem watching TV with this item - 50% of time the internet connection is not provided. I live in Portland OR, using internet provided by Xfinity and take it for granted.
