Failure in many different ways.

I bought one back in Sept. and it would not display the screen correctly. I exchanged thinking it was a defective unit. The second one kept giving me a black screen. After resetting it would not connect to the wifi. I tried on two different TV's and it failed on both. I went with the streaming stick and it so far has been working.

If you still have the Express 4K+, we'd recommend using a power adapter and wall outlet to power the device, rather than the TV's USB port. Additionally, we recommend always using the Premium High-Speed HDMI cable that comes included with your player, as not all HDMI cables are created equally.

Drown with preloaded apps

Other devices currently accessing the network, such as other streaming players, computers, game consoles, and mobile devices may affect the quality of your network connection. You might want to temporarily stop using any such device and check if that makes a difference.
If your router and Roku device both support 5GHz, you could also try connecting to the 5GHz wireless network for improved network strength.

Get the Protection Plan

My problems come in when it randomly stops working properly. The volume or the power button. If this happens and you have to reset and troubleshoot and nothing works. You'll have to buy a new one. Definitely make sure that you get the Geek Squad Protection Plan. You will DEFINITELY need it; at some point.

BOO on Roku!

The remote supposedly has a voice activator, but when you ask for it to find a channel it can never do so. It takes 3 "pushes" on the on/off button to turn the unit and TV on (WHY???) and it has the most annoying feature of stopping what you are viewing a few hours in and flashing up a box you need to click on that asks if you are still viewing the channel/show...WHY AGAIN? If I am done, I will turn the show or TV off...you cannot remove this, so you are stuck with it. I have a disabled person in the house who watches TV while I do other things, and that poor soul (who cannot operate a remote) has to stare at a blank screen with a message when this stupid feature goes into play. Roku needs to do a much better job to make their products easier to use and more reliable...right now they are not worth their cost.
