This is easy to use and was a perfect way for us to see our grandpa during Covid. If it was wireless that would make it better

Great for whatsapp and messenger video calls, lots of filters that kids enjoy using that aren't in the phone apps.

Bought this as a Christmas gift and my aunt loves it! So easy to use my 3 year old nephew uses it and makes phone calls from it lol

Bought 2 Mini’s for my sons so we could video chat with the granchildren (I have a 10” Portal). I use the Superframe for Facebook picture slideshows and Alexa for home control. Works great. It is amazing how the camera follows the speaker in a video chat and the camera has a very wide field of view so everyone can spread out during a video chat and not have to crowd together to be seen. I have not had a chance to test the multiple video chat session yet. I find plenty of nenu items for privacy control.

Easy to use and setup! Bought for my parents so they could facetime with us.

I bought at least 10 of these for my entire family and we Have use this during Quarantine and we are all happy.

The Facebook 8-inch mini-portal works great. Setup was a snap. Just plug it in, and it automatically takes you through the setup routine. First you log it into your home wireless network, then it automatically downloads any needed software updates, and then you enter your Facebook account information. You need to have a Facebook account with Messenger activated to use this. You can also register a WhatsApp account, and I did that as well. Once set up, to make a call, just tap the contact’s icon on the screen. The performance of the device made me think that the Star Trek universe is finally here. Yes, we’ve had smartphones for years now, and you can make video phone calls with them as well. But the whole experience is just different with this portal. The screen is large and easy to see. The camera follows you around if you move a bit while talking, and the image is clear and crisp. The audio is just as fine with no lag. I really thought the “picturephone” era has finally arrived. Another nice feature is the ability to have multiple people at different locations in on the same phone call, and you can set up the screen to show images from the other cameras on separate areas of the screen. All of this, of course, requires the parties you are conversing with to also have a Facebook portal. There are some other frills that we tried, just to see how they work. You can put some animations on your images (make yourself appear, for example, with a funny wig), although we’re not sure why we’d ever really want to do that. You can also play music from Spotify or Pandora while you’re talking if you want. The device can also be used as an electronic picture frame, and it also has Amazon’s Alexa built in. Both worked fine. We have family scattered around the country, and we have usually talked to them through a video call using WhatsApp. We’ll continue to do this with both Facebook and WhatsApp, but we’ll do it now with the Facebook portal.

I got this on sale and for the price I can't complain one bit. It has Alexa and it's very easy to use.
