Fallout has changed for the better.

I had extremely high expectations for this game and I haven't been disappointed in anyway. Yes it has a few bugs and glitches, but for some strange reason that doesn't bother me with Bethesda games. I pretty much expect, just like I expect massive open worlds with tons of things to do, and that's exactly what they delivered. I'm only around level 17 so far thanks to that pesky real life requiring me to go to my job on a regular basis, but Fallout has been the only game in my xbox since the day I brought it home. I put over 300 hours into Fallout 3 and a couple hundred more into New Vegas. I can easily see this game having numbers higher than that. I've played around 40 hours and it feels like I've barely scratched the surface. If you were introduced to the Fallout world through Fallout 3 like I was and you like it as much as I did, then I think you probably already have this game. I just want an excuse to talk about how much I love this game. Fallout.

There are way better WRPGs right now like the Witcher. It shows how this game was created in an eco chamber and didn't take any inspiration from other games that does RPGs way better than Bethesda. its 2015, your game shouldn't play and look like Fallout 4.

I am totally disappointed about this game. Endless wandering around looking for things, no real action or not in the way that i am looking for. I really haven't getting into this game due to the lack of action of wandering around looking for items. Not my gig.

It's all in how you play

If you are the type of player that just wants to get through the story of a game, then this is probably not a game for you. If you like exploring, read extra content, and hording lots of junk, then this game is perfect for you. Many hours of gameplay, interesting story and a companion to keep you company, or tick you off. With the map having many real resemblances to the Boston area, and a twist to real world events, it can really get you thinking at times if that is how people will talk of stuff 260+ years in the future. Being played first person or third person, melee or sneaky sniper, friendly or aggressive, you can pretty much play how you want to play. You can also use your smartphone/tablet as your real life Pipboy. Allowing you to controlling inventory, track quests, and view the map. It is also great for showing off your stats and talking about missions with friends. The only down side is that you can't play with real friends. Being able to build amazing settlements and gain loads of followers, just no one real to share it with. I really wish they would have had at least a co-op option. There are so many ways they could have gone about it and it would have influenced other friends into buying it, but sadly it is not there.

This game started out neat for me, but quickly became old fast. However, im not a huge fan of the open world games to begin with, but frustrating that when you die it kept starting me back a ways from where i was.

I loved Fallout 3. This one bores me within hours. They took the rpg out of this game...there's not much choice. Graphics look dated. It's a big boring inventory management game...if that's your thing, enjoy.

Take my advice with a grain of salt, but I simply do not have the patience to attempt a game like this where it feels like there is no direction and you aren't accomplishing anything.

    Amazing Game! Must Have!

So far I have spent about 5 or so hours in the game and it is amazing! From the interesting story to the ability to build up settlements I love it all. Yes the graphics aren't amazing, but they aren't bad either, bugs do pop up here and there but nothing major and it is to be expected from Bethesda and neither of these detract from the gameplay. Some people have complained about the shooting in the game and I actually enjoy it and enjoy the difficulty with no aim assist, it isn't bad, but definitely isn't like destiny. This game is great and I highly recommend it to any Bethesda or RPG fans in general since it is a great game and with the added settlements it can also be sort of a town simulator.

Tourist RPG no more, go rebuild the wasteland!

Fallout 3 and Fallout:NV are equally my two favorite RPGs of all time. Fallout 4 has to live up to not only its stalwart predecessors but also the enormous hype Bethesda put out before the game was released. The game is awesome, but not perfect. As with many RPGs it takes at least a few hours before things really get interesting. Don't let some of the reviews out there and a few of the game's hiccups prevent you from getting into it. Yes. There are SOME glitches (people are making it sound like the game is littered with glitches and low frame rates etc) yes there's a few annoying glitches but it's not game breaking. Yes. A few traditional elements of previous Fallout games have been "oversimplified/streamlined" (skills, voiced protagonist, repair etc) but BUT there are so many better and more interesting things to fill you time with - namely the enormous crafting system. You literally build guns up from a basic shell of a gun that barely works into something unique, powerful, and awesome. The settlements building is truly outstanding. When you compare F4 to F3 and F:NV this is probably the biggest single improvement. Something that was sorely lacking in previous titles. Not only do you build it but you also build up defenses and a militia to defend it. Truly impressive. I feel so much more connected to this game world than so many other RPGs. If you aren't playing this game you are hugely missing out! Go getting and start rebuilding the wasteland fellow wanderer!

    IMO Game of the Year

It is a great game with loads of content. Few problems are the bugs and glitches, but nothing game-breaking so far, they will probably be patched soon. I recommend playing the older titles in the series if you are new to the series. The game offers more than enough content, there will always be critiques to a game, but I can look past them all because this game is phenomenal.

    Typical Fallout

The story is good. The earth suffers a nuclear war, you survive, and now have to scrounge to find items all over the place. It's a big open world full of things you need and also full of dangers. For those that love FPS games, this is going to be quite slow by comparison. There is some fighting but it's not going to happen every minute of the game. If you like this type of game, this one won't disappoint. It is glitchy but not overly so. This is a game you can throw a lot of hours into. You'll definitely get your money's worth if you like this type of game.

Game of the year, absolutely incredible

Absolutely incredible game. The open world is interactive and fluid, the gameplay is fun, the settlement building is a unique new feature. The developers could work on the simplicity of the settlement buiding (it is a little weird at first), but I think they are listening to fan feedback and will fix this soon. Overall, my favorite game of the year.
