Rigged
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can try to pass missions all you like, but it doesn't matter how many bodies you pile up. that one guys you've riddled with ak47 bullets will still zombie kill you even though zombies aren't part of this game.

Ok, Not anything new or exciting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reminds me of Far Cry 3. Have only played it for an hour or so and it seems the same as the last in the series. Not too thrilled but its worth playing once.

Best FPS game for PS4 thus far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is so addicting, that you will won't be able to get anything else done. From start to finish, this game is AWESOME!! It plays similar to Far Cry 3 but seems to be a much bigger open world with 10x as many things to do. I'm working on a 100% completion on this game. I would recommend this game to everyone, especially those that love open world gaming, great stories, and FPS'ers. What are you waiting for, go out an buy this, Kyrat is waiting.

Fun game, similar to Far Cry 3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have played Far Cry 3 then you will know exactly what this game is and how it plays. I loved Far Cry 3 and think it is one of the best games in the last 5 years. This game is very similar and improves on Far Cry 3. The story though in this game is a lot weaker compared to Far Cry 3. The decisions you make in the game can change outcomes, which is cool. Some of the decisions don't seem to make much sense though. There is a lot to do in this game with some really fun side missions. Some of the side missions though are not fun, but guess what you don't have to do them and most of the side missions are fun. The game can be beat in under 10 hours if a person just does the main missions. I believe you will have to do some of the side missions to level up your character because the game would get too hard if you didn't. I felt the game was fair and fun and I did most of everything in the game. Liberating the outpost and taking out enemy drivers are so much fun. There are animals that run around in the game and they will attack you and also attack your enemies. I highly recommend this game. It is fun and easy to play and the controls are great. The story could be better is really the only negative. If you do most of the stuff in the game it will take over 20 hours to do, but it can be beaten faster then that. Great game!

Love this game more than FC3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved Far Cry 3 and I thought that graphics couldn't get better, but I was totally proven to be wrong. It looks amazing on my ps4 and 4k TV. It has an engaging story, really fun gameplay, and an awesome map. The only thing I don't like is the driving, which is all done with the analog stick.

Welcome to Kyrat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another of my adventures into open-world gaming... A genre I always WANT to enjoy, but often become too sidetracked to stick with for any length of time. With this generation of consoles, a large selection of the open world format has made a quick appearance... In my case, that's not always a plus, despite my desire to love them, I tend to become overwhelmed or frustrated, especially if the storyline doesn't keep me moving logically forward. I tend to NEED the narrative to keep pressing me onward, with the open world offerings to be interesting and distracting for change of pace, rather than allowing the story to be so loose that the extra offerings become more of the focus. I'm happy to report that so far, FC4 keeps to my preferred formula. The characters are voice acting is tight, drawing you into what has been a well-written story, while not leaving it so loose that you feel as if the side-missions are more of what the developers want you to see. Having arrived to Kyrat to follow your mother's last wishes, to be have her ashes laid to rest at her home, Ajay Ghale (And I love how the developers do precisely what a lot of foreign people do when entering the States... Americanizing the name. When you hear your character say his name, he pronounces it as A-jay Gale, as opposed to the people of Kyrat, who pronounce it as Ah-jay Gal-ay... A wonderful touch thrown in, which just leads to the immersion of the story,# finds himself in the middle of a civil war, quickly being thrust directly to its forefront. Every character I've interacted with has been interesting so far, and FC4's main antagonist, Pagan, is wonderfully voiced and brought to life. He's a Kyratian Joker... Disturbed, with a vicious joy that comes with the suffering of others. His only downside so far, seems to be in his age. Looking at the artwork and even his model in-game, this is a man who appears to be late 20s- early 30s... While your character would seemingly be, at the minimum, early 20s, yet Pagan constantly talks about how in love he once was with your mother... Perhaps more will be explained, or Pagan just has great genetics. In this vast game, very little has taken me out of the immersion, but this fact constantly brought up by Pagan always brings me back out as I once again question this part of the storyline. It is, in my opinion, kind of a big issue to me, BUT one that can be forgotten about as you make your way around Kyrat... Until Pagan radios again, and almost always has to reminisce on this face. As far as graphics... We're finally getting towards the part of this generation of consoles where developers are "figuring it out," on how to get the most horsepower out of the systems, and FC4 is among the games lately that have been really showing off what devs have been learning. Along with Alien Isolation and it's beautiful graphics and amazing lighting, the stunning detail shown off in great multitudes of objects and draw distance in Shadow of Mordor and the rebuilt GTA5, Far Cry 4 ramps up the world around you... In areas heavily populated by trees and foliage, every leaf, every blade of grass is distinct as far as the eye can see. Dynamic lighting flowing over the landscape as the sun changes direction, causing shadows to fall over you like a wall from the mountains, all of this is breathtaking and leads to the question of "if this is what is being pumped out by my system now, how much better can it get as they become even more familiar with the guts of my console." And there's plenty to do in-game besides follow the story, and while most of it comes off as filler, #finding masks left behind by a murderer is intriguing, a different spin on collectible hunting, it remains nothing more than what's offered by most open-world games. But giving it this new paint job has somehow made it different to me as I partake.# they're just enough of a fun distraction and way to boost your character's experience, that they don't overstay their welcome. A word of warning to the squeamish or animal lovers, the game can be a bit brutal when it comes to the furry and feathered kingdoms. Much of the games crafting comes from hunting and skinning animals, and the resulting animation of not taking the skin, but a chunk of meat after burying your dagger into it, #along with your own character's sounds of disgust,# is a bit gruesome. Removing the chunk of meat is actually for yet another of the game's interesting gameplay... Throwing it in an enemy camp can cause predators to be attracted to the scent, sending them into the camp to do some of your work for you. I believe this is why that animation is used for skinning, as well. My time spent in FC4 has been excellent. It hasn't been uncommon for me to stop and admire the scenery, #while keeping an eye out for the roaming wildlife... Keep your eyes peeled to the sky, as well, as Eagles will also swoop down to attack.# And having a cohesive, well-written story, keeping you focused on your ultimate goal while still allowing you to explore on your own, has been, like some other of the newer open-world games, a breath of fresh air. Welcome to Kyrat, indeed.

Great game, poor story and characters hold it back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gameplay wise it's excellent. Fun to play, fun to explore, lots to do, it's good all around. The big flaw is in the story and the characters in the world. Literally every character, including your own, is infuriating. Everyone is just lying and manipulating you and is basically just a selfish idiot, except the main bad guy, who's just an oppressive idiot. The missions are still enjoyable, but the story is definitely the weakest part of the game. I also didn't like all of the invisible walls that you run into, which is always an annoyance in an open world game. The poor story aside, the game itself is great and I highly recommend it, just wait for it to be relatively cheap.

A Very fun, but familiar sequel.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Far Cry 4 is a very fun game that allows players to explore a huge open world. You have the standard gun type weapons but you can also use bow's and arrows as well as the game's animals to help you fight enemies. This game may be a blast to play but it's very similar to it's prequel, Far Cry 3. Even though it shares a lot of the same core gameplay, it's still a very easy to pick up and play first-person shooter. It does have the new co-op element that makes the game twice as fun with a friend. Overall it's a game I still recommend if you enjoy open world first-person shooters with a lot of weapon, travel (You can ride an elephant and use it as a weapon!), and combat options.
