Quite possibly my favorite Far Cry yet.

Ubisoft absolutely nailed it when it comes to a vivid, beautiful post-apocalyptic environment, thick with atmosphere and drop-dead gorgeous. That alone would give it a couple of stars in my book. Throw in some EXCELLENT gunplay and action, and you've got yourself a steal of a deal for $20 less than the price of a standard game. It's about 16-18 hours long but every hour is fully immersive and just plain awesome. I'll be playing through it again.

Far Cry never disappoints!

Fun side story/expansion

This game has a lot going for it: A beautiful, colorful environment, some entertaining weapon designs, a mildly engaging story and villains you really want to destroy by the end of the game.

Whats new isn't great, whats old isn't better.

The new "RPG-lite" elements are mediocre, unnecessary additions add only the illusion of depth. The removal of weapon customization is blasphemous and the Guns for Hire mechanic continues to be subpar and uninteresting. I picked it up for only $16 and still hardly feel it was worth the price. Only get if you're a huge FC fan and need a fix, because the base gameplay is virtually untouched.
